I just noticed that user stats are disabled.
Is there a reason for this? And will it be enabled again? In the past I have used the feature several times. I found it useful.

Yes, same here. I think they are very useful and I like to consult my own stats to see my activity. Helps, for example, with signature campaigns that require certain number of posts per week - helps me check.

It was because of the last DDoS attack and/or slow performance issues that have been affecting the forum recently.

Is there plans to restore this feature in the future? Is there a more permanent plan in place to fix the slow performances? For a few days it was almost impossible to use it

Indeed it was very useful feature to get to know about your stats and also for signature campaign managers for hiring participants by inspecting their history. May be they are working on it to make it more better or to restore it after some errors caused by DDoS, we should wait for it because administrator  theymos have also announced that they are working to enable the disabled features.

Where would i look for these if they were enabled?

same here. At first I thought I was the only one experiencing it and having trouble with my network or a slow connection, well maybe they are doing something for improvement.

Today I have noticed this problem too it has appeared for some reason function wasn't active

I activated this function and through some time the statistics was updated or it just coincidence and a problem was fixed?

I've tried what you said, and it's still not working for me. Or maybe because of the function has always been on for me, therefore, it won't work.
Are you sure the statistics feature is already working for you? Can you at least post a screenshot out of it, just to make sure.

Pretty sure this is a misunderstanding. We're talking about the stats that can be accessed through your profile under "Additional Information" > "Show general statistics for this member.". In my case, my stats page would be located here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=372249;sa=statPanel), but yours would be different in the user ID. If I'm not wrong, I think you're saying that the "stats" you're seeing are the post count under activity.

I just found this issue and was about to start a new thread to ask about it when i found this thread. Hopefully it gets resolved very soon as many of us have used that option to see our stats time to time and having it disabled makes it quite uncomfortable.


It's been a few days already as this topic was started on 18th, and today it is already 24th of Dec. We are still waiting to have the problem resolved ASAP.

Again with problem statistics the second day isn't updated. :(

Now that I click someone stats it doesn't work, now I know the reason. The slow performance of the community is part of the penetration test from the last week I guess?

I will not display statistics like everyone else. I thought that this bug was only shown to me.

Why didn't you read the thread and find out? It is disabled for everyone due to the DDoS attacks. The site administrator theymos said he was working on finding a way to safely re-enable it.

If I'm correct, it was disabled more than 1.5 month ago. Any news about it? I know it's not prior thing to fix, but sometimes I'm really missing user stats.

I haven't heard anything. I would guess it is not high on theymos' to do list or he's completely forgotten about it.

Now there's merit introduced quite complicated. :(

No, I think this thread is sufficient. Also, the admin made his opinion on this matter already which you can find quoted in this thread itself. They have got a lot of things to handle so this may take some time.

There is a reason to lock the feature, I think it is required because some statistics do become the reference of someone. What I feel most is when the local board is not taken into account so I think it can be very useful for someone who tries to improve their posts. So later the quality of posts that we have will only be seen in the last post and I think the benchmark for 1 to 2 months is the most accurate. I am very supportive to disable the statistics feature, it will be fairer for everyone registered in this forum.

Actually, he said he was working on getting them back in the next few days back on the 13th December.

No, it was disabled as it was being used for a DDoS attack. Since then the forum has moved to CloudFlare so I'm not sure if it really needs to still be disabled.

So its been a few months now, anyone else still missing the forum's user stats page? I for one found that it was a good indicator to find out whether or not a user was a spammer or not. The DDOS problem is unfortunate but hopefully we could get an update on users stats.

I'm taking that to mean that the admins are unlikely to re-enable user stats until the new forum software is ready in 2067.

Why so hostile and defensive when people ask about this, TheQuin? Comment/question before your snorting was THREE and ONE HALF months after the admin said they were working on it. Here we are over 4 months later and still no functionality. How would reading the thread bring enlightenment to that person anyway?  Why comment if it's just to flick a booger in that person's direction?

Because it is really annoying when people ask a question and the answer is on the same page. It shows that they're too lazy to help themselves and expect other people to do everything for them.



Because if you read the thread it is obvious that the admins have decided not to do anything about it. It's not even 2 pages long and that's still too much effort for some people.

This thread fully answers all of that. It wasn't even that they were bumping the thread to see if admin was going to answer they literally had not read anything.

I think it's hard for me if user statistics is disabled because I can not monitor and check my activity. I think it will make something that can lead to errors and accidentally not obey the rules in this forum

You registered 4 days ago but find user stats - which haven't been working as long as I've been here - to be useful and have used this function several times? Really?
