Title: [ANN] json.karasoft.com - Scrypt/SHA256 Profitability Manager/Switcher
Post by: kslavik on July 23, 2013, 03:54:28 AM
Announcing a web-based application to monitor your workers and remotely drive you cgminer to the most profitable scrypt or SHA256 coin

http://json.karasoft.com
(you will need to register (free) to use profitability monitor)

http://json.karasoft.com/images/profit3.png

Once you setup multiple pools inside cgminer, you will be able to map different coins to different pools and profitability monitor will switch to the most profitable coin based on the current difficulty and exchange rates.

This tool will also allow you to monitor and change configuration of your cgminer devices too:

http://json.karasoft.com/images/profit8.png

Nothing needs to be installed on you computer.
This is what needs to be done to make it work for your cgminer:
1. Add the following 3 lines into cgminer.conf (or whatever config file you are using to drive you cgminer)
...
"api-port" : "4028",
"api-listen": true,
"api-allow" : "W:173.248.155.105",
....

2. Configure your router to forward outside traffic on port 4028 to your worker computer port 4028 (you can setup additional miners on different ports)

3. Launch "Profitability Monitor" and click "Add Worker" Button.
you will see your IP address filled in already.

4. Click "Verify" buttion, this button will try to contact your cgminer and determine what kind of coins you are mining (SHA or scrypt). It will get your configured pools so you can map them to the coins. The screen will look like that (after you select a pool for each coin):

http://json.karasoft.com/images/profit11.png

if you get this far, you are done. Just click "Save" and you can start using it - just select coins to be considered for auto switching.

If you see this message:
A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond, it means that you didn't properly configured your router to forward traffic to selected port

if you see this meessage:
A request to send or receive data was disallowed because the socket is not connected and (when sending on a datagram socket using a sendto call) no address was supplied, it means that you didn't properly configured your cgminer for API accesss.

"Profitability Monitor" is part of the larger web application to access JSON based APIs of you pools/miners/exchanges and so on. The main bitcointalk thread for http://json.karasoft.con thread is here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=119049.0

Sexy! I like it and will utilize when I have multi-rigs and not sitting in front of my miners.

Thanks kslavik :)

Be well.

It is actually perfect for people sitting in front of their computers and watching their miners 24/7 (as I do  :)  ). You can use it to manually switch between different coins/pools and set your own handicaps. Try it, you will like it - I guarantee it.

Wow this is avesome, would be perfect for me.

Dou you think there will be option to add other coins except for ones listed by default ? I wouldn't even need to know profitability, just difficulty
including those that are not listed on any exchanges yet

Most popular and stable coins are already there for SHA and for scrypt (11 coins for Scrypt and 4 for SHA). I will consider adding other coins as well when they would became popular, but I would probably take some away tool, the screen is getting crowed.

I already have an option for users to add any coin they want and as many as they want, but this option is for donors only. This option will auto pull all the data from coinchoose.com or you will be able to set your own profitability for those custom coins.

Well, try using it first, and see how it goes, I'm sure you will like it.

old thread DOes anyone use this, and how d oyou transfer to your exchange and then to BTC? USing cyrptsy here d oyou inout your cryptsy address for each coin,

ANyway my main question is anyone use it?

There are so many other pools that are much easier but this is SOO detailed and lets you be apart of most of the process, except hat I have asked above
