I'm a newbie and don't know about the large investments in Cryptocurrency. But I see This year Bitcoin Price going very high. How the Predictions of 2018? Can I invest in Cryptocurrency in 2018?

Please Suggest me!

Bitcoin blasted to another all-time high of just over $17,750 on Friday, up 8 percent on the day, as concerns grew over the risks of investing in the highly volatile and speculative instrument.
The cryptocurrency’s staggering price rises – more than 1,700 percent since the start of the year – have driven worries that the market is a bubble that could burst in spectacular fashion.
Bitcoin has climbed more than 77 percent so far in December alone, putting it on track for its best month in percentage terms since December 2013.
On Friday it reached as high as $17,752.99 BTC=BTSP on the Luxembourg-based Bitstamp exchange.

Yes, it's a bubble, but people are still gonna try to acquire it for a while, I don't think the bubble will pop soon

The Bitcoin price grew with over 800% within a year. All indications are that big investors are looking towards Bitcoin investment now, so I should think that based on this, that it will emulate what happened during last year.

Remember, last year were still a pre-scaling/pre-SegWit year and now that has been resolved. <close enough, in any way>

This year was considered year of bitcoin because the value increase too much, and i am predicting in 2018 it would double its value that is why if you have extra money much better to invest it and hold for more than a year and i am sure that it will generate good amount of profit. Dont hesitate or you will regret soon.

there is already a sign if indeed bitcoin in 2018 can rise high, because now bitcoin has shown a good price. you can buy large amounts of bitcoin if you want a high profit.

BUT right now as you can see bitcoin has grown too much in only one year. most of it is perfectly understandable because we have had logical reasons for the rises so far. such as end of a 3 year long scaling debate, adoption of bitcoin on a massive scale by a couple of countries like Japan, and finally the last big news was the mainstream adoption of bitcoin in US.

but it is still riskier than normal to invest right now. so my advice is that if you chose to invest, do it with more care and keep your eyes on the price. you can also wait for a considerable drop like 30% before you start investing.

Wallstreet is only starting to get into Bitcoin and they are bringing a ton of money with them. My price predictio  for it would be 50-100k USD by the end of 2018. 5x is doable I believe.

not a sign, but it has been proven also in late 2017 and reached 2018 at this time. the price of the bitcoin is worth the increase until now in 2018. so we follow the bitcoin tu will not regret it until whenever. because bitcoin always has a continuous rise, and we can not guess at all.

We cant really say whether Bitcoin will be going higher or not. It should be rising in price but after seeing the current circumstances I hardly think Bitcoin will break the $25k barrier . The current issues are too much for Bitcoin to handle. The high fees is major problem every bitcoin user is facing. Why will anybody pay $10-$20 fee for sending $50-$75 worth of BTC. It's ridiculous and this problem has to be solved. The lightning network might be able to solve this issue but until then I don't think there will be many investors investing in BTC.

I think so yes, but better to invest in coins which are that high, because after the up there's always a dump by holders.

I cant predict what will happen next year but if you invest now it's a big chance to get profit next year. The better thing to do you must observe the volatile of bitcoin so you will be updated every time but if you are willing to invest this is the best time to make a move. 

I saw a post about Bitcoin price prediction of the year 2018 and it was 10k USD its not even 2018 yet and its already 19k/BTC, I would say around 30-35k? cannot really predict Bitcoin always did better than my expectation.

Seriously, if you think Bitcoin's price is too high - then it might be wise for you to invest your money on other alt coins (Those top 10 alt coins also have great potential too)

Don't expect to high, since many people say it's a bubble. But for me, it will retain on what it takes this year 2017 for 2018. Garnering a high value will make something partake small out of it. Not in a minute it will go high but also go down. Who knows what will happen in 2018. You should invest it now don't wait for the 2018 since it may go high or go drop :-\

You can start investment in bitcoin in small amount, so rather than investing huge it is better to go for small and see.  By considering perivious records of bitcoin price, it is predicted that price will again increse in next year. So it is better to invest in bitcoin, that will gives you better returns.

As you are newbie investor I will suggest you to diversify your investment and don't put all you have in bitcoin or any other single coin, also currently every alts are in pumped price so there will be some correction within few days or weeks so if you can wait than its better to wait for cheaper coins till than you can try to book some profit with day trading.

Hey, while I love Bitcoins, I have always advocated to people to only invest surplus money in Bitcoins. While the rally looks nice, note that bitcoin is capable of self destruction also. It can go down also, so be very careful and not jump in without understanding it. While Bitcoin is very powerful, it can be risky to, bans, If someone steals and all. So be cautious and then get in, use electrum wallet only and never give your private key and seed out. Remember to buy at dips and sell at high, ps buying selling involves fees.

This is good to see that news if Bitcoin jumps this coming year, if this get true I think this is the good and god gift for us, I wish it will become true.

No one can grant you that for sure bitcoin will rise again in 2018. But chances are it actually will.
Trends for bitcoin prices are chaotic, that's even because of that volatility that many people are affraid to invest in crypto-currencies. Unlike traditionnal moneys, you can't be sure of the rate you will get as it can completely change from one day to another.

Still, bitcoin is on the rise. There are more and more people joigning the community. Of course, if you had invested in January 2017, you would have make a huge profit by now.. But it is not "too late". Many people think so just because the opportunity seems to be a huge miss now.. But at the time, there were already people saying that bitcoin would no longer rise.

I've started bitcoin only this year and I was surprised that the price went one step into another into another so quickly. There even came a point where I regreted not investing immediately and being a skeptic for a while because the price upscaled quick. It is indeed a good year for bitcoin this 2017.

See i always say it's never too late to invest on Bitcoin. This year of course the price of Bitcoin has shown an infinite upsurge and was beyond everyone's expectations. But still i would say the golden era of Bitcoin is yet to come in the coming years. We may see double the rise and that would be absolutely fantastic if it happens!

But do not forget that there are other currencies. For example eth or zec. Perhaps for a year your income will increase ten or more times. But to store your free money is better of course in bitcoin. Because bitcoin is a more reliable currency for long-term storage.

It is to difficult to guess BTC price now, it get low and high to fast, many times in a day. But i believe that BTC price can jump high in 2018, maybe more than $50k, i hope.

Hi there S.coastapps! If you would like to invest in bitcoin, I suggest to do it now while the price is low. I have huge trust in the cryptocurrency specifically in bitcoin, I hope the price rate increase on 2018 could be much higher than the price rate of 2017. From December 2016 to December 2017, the bitcoin price soar for more than 2,000% compare to several years ago where bitcoin just jump 76% in a year. Moreover, it is better to buy low than wait for the next year high price.   ;)

We have a full week up to the end of the year. Although bitcoin struggles in the last 2 days. I'm still remain bullish that it can at least hit $17K before 2018. There is a serious dump that's going around not only in bitcoin but alt as well. My only logical reason why is the market suddenly crashes is that people are simply cashing it out.

The market price now a day is low, and the reason behind it is Christmas. Now, for all the newbies, I think we should motivate them and tell them to start studying it and only ask for the queries on these forums and not about complete phenomenon of the bitcoin. I'd rather have a stable price at around $15k than for it to jump from aprils $1k to jump to $19k as it was in december. Maybe the steady rise of $1k per month or something even slower because with the jumps like these, tx fees are going crazy.

Also, I'm not going to make any predictions because it mostly goes the other way around, but I'll say that I hope that it will have a more steady price and, slowly but surely, to be going up.

As l monitor the price of this 2 months bitcoin price jump very quick, maybe there's a purpose for good  why bitcoin is going higher and higher now. bitcoin price rose fastly and peaked at a price of 18.700$ on December the 18th and we all expected it to reach 20k before the end of the year,
but the price started falling dramatically which makes investor to start panicking and sell at lower prices.

Agree mate. The crazy jump to $19K is very amazing but crazy. Look at how the market crumbles just a couple of days with it reach $19K. There's a lot of crazy buyers out there, specially in the Asian market, buying at doesn't care what the price is. However, when it the price plummeted, all of because worried. If we could have gain a steady claim to $19K, then no one will react so such dramatic decline. However, the it peaked at $19K in just a short time that everyone didn't know what to do except to panic sell crashing the market to more than 40%.

I guess we already learn from that mistakes, and a steady climb would be pretty much better than gaining price everyday at astronomical levels.

Well, as i observed the price of Bitcoin last year 2016 and this year 2017, There's a big big difference. The price grew up to 800% of it. Well, 2017 is one of the best time for Bitcoin. Well, This 2017 is one of the big time for Bitcoin and I know that 2018 is much better. Invest more and you will earn and gain more profits.

The Bitcoin price grew with over 800% with  next year. All indications are that big investors are looking towards Bitcoin investment now :) :) :)

This is the history year of bitcoin. It cross $19000 in few days. And I think it will turn into 50000$ within 2018. Hopefully. But anything can possible. It can be fall down also.

Neglecting different circumstances it is true to say that 2017 year was good time for Bitcoin. It have risen to the high mark and I believe its growth will continue. We’ll see it in the next year.

I also think that bitcoin increases in the new year and the altcoins also will rise but we cannot be sure unfortunately. Still, some altcoins have promising project and they will gain trust and popularity in the future, they can be valuable, so i think some of them deserved to be looked for.

True. This year was indeed remarkable because we have seen how the exchange rate changes that fast. This was the perfect year to sell bitcoin for it reaches the highest value. If we have just invested big, we definitely got the bigger income. It was really amazing that we have experienced high returned in bitcoin at times when it has the highest value. Hopefully we would have better years in bitcoin so we can be so blessed with this cryptocurrency.

Yes you can still invest in any crypto currency next year 2018 there more and more atlcoins now under ICO and that you can try to invest. If you want to invest in bitcoin too then invest that you can afford to lose only. Much better that you cam prepare than regret someday.

2018 will be the right time for investing in bitcoin, because it's price will probably decline a little bit. That would be high time to invest in bitcoin. And as we all know this year's bitcoin history, there will be a much more incline in the price charts after the decline. Due to the altcoins and government rejections, the decline is possible, then bitcoin will be cheaper to buy. 

That is going to happen for sure, but right now, there is a lot of forks that is happening to bitcoin that is why the price of it is  DUMPING and PUMPING lately, there is no reason to panic though, bitcoin's price will be back on its track again and will make another All Time High price before 2017 ends. We just have to hold our bitcoin for a couple of days and let's see if we could convert it because the price will go back to $20,000 per bitcoin.

Altcoin's price would be affected also, I mean it could either PUMPS with bitcoin or DUMP because bitcoin's price is too high.

Right. There's really nowhere to go but up. Bitcoin's fast rise in popularity and value made sure of that. Though that will also raise concerns about the bubble popping or increased hackings. Hopefully these issue will be addressed with btc's price rise

Currently btc prices have being dump so its a good buying opportunity with every dip accumulate more as once the rise starts you will make some quick gains with the investment made now. So after 16k it the next target will be 18500$ which was approx all time high. Hopefully we should see this price in Feb.

No body can judge the exact price of bitcoin. Many expert think that it price prediction is $50000 in the 2018. But i assume that it will cross the $50000 above and it can also reverse to any level. Bitcoin have long journey in this world and after 2020 if any one see the bitcoin price and will dream to buy the bitcoin.

Bitcoin was Jump Highly previous year, and this year continues. because most businessmen invest their asset bitcoin. so i think that, bitcoin price regular increase in this year.

I think it may reach 50000$+ by the end of this year for sure. Bitcoin is getting 10x every year and this year the price has already reached $15000 and $50000 may not be a big leap.

Definitely it will be best if prices go up day by day but always prepare for rainy days and have enough cash flow to do what you want to do in time of any situation.

I think for this year bitcoin prices will soar again, like yesterday that almost touched $ 22,000 price, so I believe this year will be reached even exceeds the price, and I've been stocking for a long time to wait for the rise of bitcoin prices.

The price of bitcoin skyrocketed from $1700 to as high as $19000 dollars within 2017 and at that so many speculators speculated that bitcoin was a bubble that will burst before the eñd of 2017, but to us in the bitcoin community we see 2017 as the year of bitcoin and year 2018 as bitcoin year of total taking over so at that this year bitcoin is going to do well and bitcoin price may go as high as $50000 before the end of 2018.

why would you think this ? maybe it will go to an all time high but I don't see it pass the 20k market with a lot. Maybe we gonna see somewhere around 30k but I'm skeptical for now.

We really can't say for certain what will be the price of bitcoin. As of now we are seeing that it is sliding to $14K again, after getting as high as $17K and only ETH is really going up ever since. There's some serious shifting of money from bitcoin to altcoin now.

But I hope that the price can again regain its luster, its still beginning of the year. So much can happen. I though that the price increase will continue once we got to $17K but I was wrong. Expect that the market could be a little bit sluggish but then it will pick up around Feb so and then probably we can surpass $20K.

Bitcoin price last year was pretty good but today price is volatile. Bitcoin price this 2018 is really unpredictable but if you are planning to invest you can go ahead and invest but don't put too much money on it, you can still try to other altcoins that you can invest.

The price today is as volatile as it has always been. We saw quite a number of crashes, or corrections if you don't like the word crash, just a year ago on Chinese FUD, and even before that. This year 2018 is the best for cryptocurrency more users added to the community. Also most invest in bitcoin though price drops it will grow or increase its value again. Yes people interested in bitcoin technology that is why I believd this is the year that price would jump.

The current trend of Bitcoin is quite volatile. It increased by around 600% in 2017. Of course there is a chance to jump in that level in this year. Every time the price falls , right time to invest in knocks the door. I have another level of trust on this specific currency.

Volatility of Bitcoin is explained by its speculative nature. If speculation runs rampant this year as well, we may see the price grow a few times but volatility will be there too. Actually there are threads here that shows bitcoin movements every first quarter, from year 2016 that it does dip and arise later on, just keep buying , we already see hoe volatile bitcoin yet it can still made ATH anytime soon, just keep holding until that day.

The strong support from bitcoin users and investors to bitcoin shows the interest of the people in bitcoin, and therefore we can predict that bitcoin price will very soon not only recover its position but will also make new records of high price. If you can see bitcoin pump its price by last quarter of 2017 so many are hoping that this year will be the same as last year. We all know that bitcoin suffers a lot of problems these past few months but still there are people holding their bitcoins because they still believe of the last quarter pump scenario and I'm proudly to say that I'm one of them. Bitcoin help me by means of financial aspects as well as other people so if we continue to support it, there will be a big chance of bitcoin rising again in the market together with some alt coins and that's good for all of us here.

As for me, I do not give up this hope. I guess that the highest jump of Bitcoin and some altcoins can be repeated this winter, close to November or December.
