I was actually surprise that there is no existing thread about aeternity so far. I'm following this project for quite some time (since July) and wanted to ask what are your thoughts about it? It all started quite bad and there was a lot of FUD, but at the moment it looks like they now have a really strong team and start to deliver what was promised in the beginning. I also invested  when shit hit the fan and it turned out to be quite a good investment so far, but if they continue their good work, this could be one of the best performing projects in months / years. I'm also quite sure that it will continue it's rise in the future, since all weak hands had been shaken out in the beginning of the project and it is still not listed on one of the big exchanges.

Some facts about Aeternity

- Strong team: Yanislav Malahov (worked together with Vitalik), Sascha Hanse (IOTA) and much more
- Main focus on Scaleability (state channels, decentralized oracles)
- Written in Erlang
- New POW algorithm (Cuckoo Cycle - https://blog.aeternity.com/cuckoo-cycle-memory-bandwidth-bound-pow-mining-9aa5695a4c94)
- Raised 60Mio at their ICO
- Testnet available since 6.12.2017
- Mainnet launch expected in Q2 2018

They were under the radar for quite some time, but it looks like they now start to promote their project since they have a running testnet (i.e. their Aepp Hackathon).

about the 60 Mio funds they have raised in ico, doesn't it stolen for some amount? I have no idea what's going on their project and the sudden growth of the value makes me learn about it recently

They lost about 30% (all ether from their phase 2) of their funds in the parity multisig hack (very unfortunate, not something they did wrong, could have been any other project as well). Since they started in April and raised bitcoin as well, it doesn't actually matter that much, since they still have more that they will ever need to deliver their vision.

could you share their acc on github? I want to see How they work, they raised money in bitcoin too means okay to me I will take a look to their project and Im going to join their telegram groups

100X potential, buy and forget this. go back 2 years later.

We can compare aeternity to ethereum, stratis and neo. And maybe aeternity will be an ethereum killer. New product will have new features also the orecle thing in this platform will kill ethereum if ethereum does not upgrade their platform.

I'm not sure about saying it is the next Ethereum. If anything out there is next Ethereum it is probably going to be Cardano, but even that is a long way away at the moment.

I'm not saying it's going to be the next ethereum, but I guess it's quite compareable to EOS (which already grew 10x just within a month) and to me looks quite undervalued at the moment.

In the event of one or two bad events for Aeternity, my team is on track with strength and progeny.

There is a lot of people are doing the same with you mate. How they are saying about A,B, or even C as the next ethereum. The main net is not yet even launched and i can't expect something from there. Rather than call aeternity as the next ethereum and it may better to call that as the competitors to the EOS and Cardano. it will be more suitable.

It's now officially listed (and can be traded) on https://www.aex.com . I expect it will increase a lot in the next days.

60 million rise on ico proof this project is popular and have big support in the back.
I have no doubt it can be big value next but not replace etherium.

This is the reason for me to stay away from Aeternity. Too many 'hacks' happens lately. From ICOs, from Nicehash hot-wallet, Nicehash cold-wallet.

I like the team, it's really strong. But I'm waiting to see something really working there.

That's too bad. I don't know if they can prosecute Parity. Parity may have big problems if they can't return the funds.

I do not think it will be the next ethereum. I think it is different and AE will be used by real commercial like payment and IOT.

This months Ethereum killer? Ok..

This coin can not replace the ethereum, or at least for a short period of time to grow to its level. Now there are too many coins and even to the strongest team will be difficult to attract attention to the new coin.

This coin has been quite lately, I don't know if they have resolved the issue they are having before now, I read somewhere that the main developer has abandon the project

Potential is great but you can not get a coin of Ethereum anywhere. Although Aeternity is a beautiful project.

Haha so this is a new thread to say that X coin is the new replacement of Ethereum? came on, i have seen so many "ethereum" replacements during the last few months. It was cardano at the beggining, then it was Neo, just keep making useless threads.

The title 'The next Ethereum' really have a bad vibe. Be a different thing.

aeternity will be next big think compared to eos, take a look eos is 10$ and ae just only 1,3$. soo cheap. turns your 1000$ to 100K$ in year or two

Aeternity, this is a project I've always been very optimistic about. But sometimes I feel like the team is involved in manipulating the price of tokens, and I don't agree with Aeternity at this point.

May be so because already Ethereum has great potential in the market and compared with ETH is not at all good for us. So i should aternity is a good project for long term holders who are holding AE coins.

All these new Ethereum projects are going to leave under its shadow for a long time, they will need to wait forever, ethereum has a strong hold on the smart contract space and I have not seen any project for now that come close to it, NEO is trying but it is just a focus on Chinese market

Aeternity had their great ICO earlier this year. They had some problems but they have now gotten all coins on the wallet and it looks amazing.
