Title: Wallet to use that lets you set a private key?
Post by: real2124 on December 19, 2017, 10:35:12 AM
I bought a tiny amount of BTC with coinbase, and I want to send it to my BTC wallet... but I don't have one yet. Do you guys recommend one that allows me to choose my own private key? Android/windows user.

I use the ETH wallet because it give you the private key.ETH is known as Ethereum Wallet.I like using this wallet because it easy and safe to store my bitcoin. But the private key must save safely, don't let people know the private keys because they can steal the btc from you.

You can use myether wallet , myether wallet is strictly based on private keys to login even after signing up/creating an account .
But do not loose your keys to anyone because if you do ,you can't get hold of your coins anymore .

The wallet that lets you set a private key is etherwallet but you need to keep it because when you lost it you can no longer recover it.

You can also create your own wallets with http://www.bitaddress.org/ but just make sure that you create these wallets offline. Navigate to the site and just before you generate the public/private key combinations, unplug your network access. <there are some handy videos on Youtube, that would explain more secure methods to do this, but you can experiment with the basics first>

Print the wallets and play around with it. <depositing small amounts to these paper wallets and also sweeping them onto online wallets>

Tip : Use small amounts, until you have mastered the creation of more secure paper wallets. ^smile^

The most important thing is not go to a fishing site and not enter your password. Scammers will steal your money right away. Watch the video on YouTube.
