Title: Bitcoin: Singapore issues cryptocurrency warning
Post by: gabbie2010 on December 19, 2017, 12:23:46 PM
The Monetary Authority of Singapore has just issued a warning about bitcoin, this is coming as result of surges in the price of bitcoin, I hope this will not be setback towards the price of bitcoin reaching $20,000 as predicted before the end of 2017.

It's not a big deal. The warning doesn't tell people what they shouldn't already know. All they're really saying is that:

a) You can incur losses because the market is speculative
b) The intermediary (exchanges, online wallets, etc.) could be hacked

Everyone knows they could lose money, and it's being said over and over that it's a bad idea to not have control of your own private key. I would be very surprised if this affected Bitcoin's value at all. The hacking warning could put off would be investors who don't know how wallets work though.

There are many countries that have been issuing warning against the use of cryptocurrency but it has not affected the value of bitcoin at all. As long as the country does not ban bitcoin then there will be no problem since the public knows what they are doing. The government of Singapore on the other hand is just doing their part in favor of their citizens.

Bitcoin wasnt affected even when China banned all the exchanges and trading, So even if Singapore banned trading or crypto currency, there wont be too much of destruction. Yes it is just a warning. So nothing special.

Most countries banking institutions did alert the consumers when the price increase is really volatile. we have to see how the market going to adapt and stabilize for certain time.

you may think that but you would be surprised knowing how many people don't know these things already and act irrationally when it comes to an investment specially in something that they "feel missing out on" like bitcoin with its huge rise this year.
and warnings like this are a good thing and most of the countries that i know of have issued something similar already.

Most people here will understand the risks, well err.... I hope so and if we get burned then we deserved it because we have been too
greedy whilst gambling and did not know when hold and when to fold.

Trouble is the masses who have been playing slot machines for years might create a virtual gold rush and all jump in feet first
and then we will have trouble come the crash, pull back or bear traps as some may call them.

All i see in the press is "BTC gone up again today" but just now it's trading sideways so the gun is being primed so yes
I think we should see a warning sign on the door to the casino because for a short time it will be like taking candy from a baby
and lets face it most people here intended on doing a lot of taking if we are honest about it.

Yeah, yeah baby to the moon !

I hope that this thing will not affect the bitcoin price. Right now bitcoin will now moon and up to moon. Last target for this year is 23k USD right? When it affect the price it might fall to 18k.
