So i've been scammed already a number of times on kiddy forums like Hackforums. I was wondering what are the BEST ways to cashing out BTC for cash i currently have 1K BTC and i wouldnt mind turning some of it into cash. I know this is a newbie question but im new to the whole BTC scene.

Your choices to cash out are either an exchange platform (like Bitstamp.net, bitcoin.de), a local trade (localbitcoins.com) or a trade on this forum (use escrow - a very trusted person to handle the deal or sell to a very trusted person).

localbitcoins.com dude!  it's the real deal, escrow it if you nervous...  :o

I frequently use localbitcoins.com.  I'd suggest you take a look.

If you are anywhere near the Greater Chicagoland Area, I'd be willing to meet up and hand over cash for the bitcoins.

If you are willing to accept U.S. Postal Money Orders (or any other form of mailed payment) I'd be willing to send you payment for the bitcoins.

If you are willing to accept Paypal, bank transfer, or any other forms of electronic payment, I'd be willing to send you payment for the bitcoins.

If you plan on exchanging with someone else, and you are looking for someone trustworthy to hold the bitcoins in escrow while you wait for payment, I'd suggest contacting forum member John K.  He has a great reputation in this forum for trustworthiness.  If he is unavailable or you don't want to pay his fee, I'm willing to hold escrow as well.  My reputation isn't as widespread as his yet, but I've engaged in multiple transactions here at bitcointalk, have held escrow for several others, and am a well established member of the community.  You can see more details regarding my escrow service with the link in my signature.

You should be fine with any major exchange. You could also trade somebody else safely through escrow.

If you want to avoid taxes, (while paying a small percentage), you should exchange them for amazon gift cards and then just order crap you need on a daily basis, etc, which would effectively give you back "money" since you won't be spending it on daily crap (like toilet paper, or something, just order a butt-load (ha!) of toilet paper at cheap amazon prices. :)
 
Or buy really popular items for cheap on amazon, then resell on Craigslist for cash :)

if you're planning on continuing to trade, go to an exchange, other wise use localbitcoins so you don't have to go through the whole account setup and waiting

i am a fan of OKPAy, you can get a mastercard funded pretty much directly with BTC win to me

like others have said use escrow. it is pretty much impossible to get scammed. im surprised by the number of people who just send a bunch of bitcoins to some random person on a forum, you are just asking to get scammed doing that.

Either trade with a member of the forums using escrow, use mtgox (exchange) or use vircurex (exchange).

Do NOT sell BTC on ebay, paypal/ebay has no problem removing the funds from your account after the transaction.

Don't touch ebay when it comes to BTC!
