Perhaps traders are jumping in without having any idea of what it is all about. I think that it went kind of unannounced that the coin would be entered and then all of a sudden an email from GDAX was sent to all users with the news.
There are huge buy walls too! Other exchanges have huge gaps for arbitrage at this moment. What a great trick to line one's own pocket , Buy 100 million in BCH, start a media frenzy, then multiply your investment by 300-400% , then buy back into BTC at a massive discount.. What a whale of a good time huh?

What do they have to do with being added to coinbase? Coinbase is how i got the majority of my money into crypto and is what i use for P2P transactions with crypto. PS. I dont really imagine that price will be hitted by bch. So if they dont accept bitcoin deposit, so we can not do arbitrage.
