Title: How to convert bitcoin cash to USD?
Post by: ulhaq on December 20, 2017, 06:12:30 AM
Are there any exchanges that allow it? I heard Bitfinex does, but also heard that they only allow conversion to USDT (and people were having trouble converting USDT into USD, unless this has been solved?)

Since you know Bitfinex allows it, I think that is where you need to direct your questions to or you just mail their support and wait for response. I am just hearing this option for the first time for direct conversion of BCH to fiat as against the common ones as BTC and ETH. When you find, do well to update so that others can benefit from your fact finding quest. :)

There are many ways through which you can do this. The first and best way to do this would be to exchange the Bitcoin Cash to USD from Coinbase. The current price in Coinbase exchange for BCH is somewhere around $8500 and this surge is due to two reasons that coinbase has added Bitcoin cash support in it's wallet and there is an upcoming fork for the Bitcoin cash. This sudden surge has resulted in a huge spike in BCH's price. So you can use coinbase to get the USD. You can also exchange the BCH to USD on exchanges such as Bittrex, Bitfinex etc... which has USDT and then transfer the Tether to your bank. An alternate way can be that you exchange the BCH for BTC and then exchange BTC to USD as there are many ways for exchanging BTC to USD.

What upcoming hard fork? You seem to suggest that it is going to split, or else just a protocol improvement that causes people to want to buy it?

Looks like trading was halted at coinbase, and question regarding whether a glitch caused the high prices:
https://thenextweb.com/hardfork/2017/12/20/bitcoin-cash-makes-waves-becomes-available-coinbase-halts-trading/

Otherwise would have been a good opportunity to sell it at high prices and buy it back elsewhere, but probably bots have already been written to do this faster than anyone can manually.

Bitcoin Cash into a fiat isn't different from other coins into local money.
Bitcoin Cash should be converted into Bitcoin or Ethereum then convert into cash by using some phone applications that converts Bitcoin or Ethereum into local cash like in my country Philippines. We are all using Coins.ph in order for us to convert into Philippine peso and can be withdraw in any local banks.

BCH has been added to the coinbase but still they not add the features of buying and selling,I hope they wipl add this feature soon.So you can move your BCH to coinbase then sell it for USD.But I think ot is not a good time to sell BCH because the price keeps increasing so you just hold it for few more days to get extra benefit.

Actually that's isn't very hard today because that's one of the features offered by commercial Cryptocurrency Exchanges today. In order to people choose their company as a trade center for all the supported coins is also they're able to convert your coins into bank accounts.

I do not know it, I mentioned that I "heard" that they do. If someone here uses bitfinex, please clarify. More accurate than dealing with their customer service (because they can always claim anything).

If you want to get usd from Cryptocurrencies you can use regulated exchange. I think Cex.io is best to convert USD and withdraw to bank accounts or Credit card. Its my idea. 8)

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin-cash/#markets
There are so many exchange sites which already enabled the bitcoin cash trade into the USD directly. coinone, bitstamp, kraken and many more. But the latest just gdax exchange site which owned by coinbase platform.
You can try to choose which is better for you based on the regulation. But you can try to sell your bch to the usd directly in bitfinex.

Because I am Chinese, I can sell USDT through Okex and huobipro and get real money, so I am not worried about this problem. :o

Convert your bitcoincash to bitcoin or ethereum and than sell them for usd in coinbase, bitpanda, bitstamp like exchanges.

Coinbase have already started supporting bitcoincash so wait for market to be stabalized there if coinbase supports your country.

What if coinbase (or another exchange) does not support the country?
What is the safest and of course the cheapest way to convert crypto into fiat?

Watch out for Bitfinex... They have pretty high limits on some cryptos for withdrawal. They are not doing that good lately. Also read some articles about inside problems.

IMHO best way is change Bch to BTC and use online exchanges or telegram bots. For Eastern Europe, people using yobit.net.

Coinbase is the best way to convert bitcoin cash to USD.You can also use bitfinex and bittrex to convert Bcash into ETH or Bitcoin and after that you can convert it into fiat. This two are the only possible way that i can suggest.

No, the most easy way in that you can exchange those coins is just convert them to bitcoin, and then sell those bitcoins in a p2p exchange, just try to look on localbitcoins for someone who is able to buy your bitcoins.

Why do you want to exchange them directly? it is simpossible as far as i know.

As we now know that coinbase has officially listed bitcoin cash now, so you can buy sell bch there with fiat from most countries in the world.

Many exchanges now support bitcoin cash such as Kraken and HitBTC both these platforms are good and require sufficient verification for dealing with large amounts of cash.

Technically it's "exchange".

To exchange BTC to USD is the same as selling an iPad for cash. In this case, you have multiple options. Peer-to-peer, official exchanges or the other dodgy websites up.

P2P means changing your BTC for cash in hand, gift cards, bank transfer (any method you can dream of) with other people (hence p2p) on a website such as paxful or localbitcoins. It's easy to get scammed so watch out for that. Changing on an official exchange such as bittrex could also be a possible option for you but it's considered harder in some cases (if you don't have ID on hand, time and a bit of patience) as it's very hard to exchange on these sites as a new member.

Use bitstamp to convert it to USD then you can withdraw directly to your bank account or load a debit card with it if that is more suitable.

There are many ways converting USDT not recommended way in my country there is no way to encash usdt to USD . Its better to send it to local exchange or coinbase and convert into USD or local currency.
