If you are a true hodler you wouldn't care about temporary price dump. Just continue to hold and avoid looking at bitcoin price every minute because
the price will be huge after 1 or 2 years.

You are afraid of this price drop? This is nothing... we will experience significant drops in 2018 I believe. Afterwards true hodlers and believers will stand together and bitcoin will be stronger than ever.
HODL!

I agree with you, a true bitcoin holder is he who is patient to face any market circumstances because behind it all he has a mature strategy and indeed know the market character is mature.

If you've been able to hold throughout the past year then there should be zero issues with holding onto it for longer, you're not at any risk provided you haven't been buying within the $15k-$16k space of value and you're sitting on pure profit, there's a lot more that can still happen and it's all looking like positives for the market, despite the recent slide that's been happening. Of course don't believe any of what I'm saying because according to my experience I am a perfect contrarian and, for everything I have just said, the opposite will happen.

I've just sold out. The fees are absolutely ridiculous and it is going to kill Bitcoin. Bitcoin cash is better and the only thing keeping Bitcoin alive is the people that love it just too much.

Bitcoin needs fixing real fast, because it's already too late.

Truelly it is a difficult time for holder and new investors, cause the loses is becoming something else for all. But, with a perspective of things going right soon, then we wait and continue holding to smile latter.

Hard time for a hodler sure but a hodler shouldn't worry about a few fluctuations over a couple of days, now if we had crashed over weeks or months then I would say yes it's a bit hard at that point.

I dont know why you ALL are saying and spreading the same kind of words.

Bitcoin is not dead, and it will never be! Stop trying to make fud in here because we all know the real potential that bitcoin has and the long path that we haven't recovered yet.

Do you really think that those are real bad times for a holder? Let me tell you something, the price has increased by more than ten thousand dollars in just ONE MONTH, now just answer this, do you think that this is sustainable?

Of course not, it needs a dip, but it will recover soon.

Stop crying like a baby

Bitcoin will recover and be fine, but there is still a chance that this correction is not over. Don't be surprised if the price drops back down again to $15.000 or below. We're in a period where there could be fluctuations as people are buying and selling with some people taking profits while others are trying to find bargains. Overall I think Bitcoin will recover over time but it could take a while.

Totally agree, a true hodler probably shouldn't be too focused on the day to day or hour to hour fluctuations...mostly it just causes anxiety and self doubt.  Of course, enough of a drop looks like a buying opportunity to a true hodler... ;)

All this dip is just a normal thing which has already happened before for a multiple time.

Personally i like to have some dips with bitcoin.
Because by this i can also accumulate some more bitcoin for my stash

I actually dont wanna be a 100% holder because it has a low probability on earning. It is a lazy job where you buy coins and defy odds on the vilatility of its value. All you have to do is wait. Its never hard. If you are an old time holder, you should be used to its volatility.

Agree with you sir, if you are always scared and will see every minute every hour every day bitcoin price you will be anxious and always will sell it, if necessary save bitcoin in offline wallet for security reasons. let if there are investors who only sell and buy in a short time to achieve quick profits. it's the one that makes the bitcoin value up and down now. Just forget about minor price movement - simply wait for another milestone - waiting for halving in 2020 is a good choice.
Maybe we will see an amazing price increase - something like John McAfee predicted, bitcoin might even be worth 1 million USD.
Or collect your profit right now - and don't waste time with BTC anymore if you are stressed out by sudden price movements.

Yeah, that's indeed true. But the thing here that matter is that, backdrops like what we are seeing is only a part of its volatility and we should all be awared of that. Bitcoin's market value is falling at this moment but it will eventually increase again so holders will benefit when that near moment comes. So continue holding and investing.

King can be changed too? Don't you know this? Bitcoin fell by 11% today, this can be repeated tomorrow and day by day. Why don't you think that if something can rise, it can fall like that? Fall always comes after rise, without rise nothing can fall. And despite the fact that you are btc holder, can you write one real argument to explain why will it rise and you holders will be always in profit? What if bitcoin didn't achieve 18K again in next 10 year? Will you wait forever?

Yes, if you are able to survive for 1-2 years and be patient, then you will get a huge profit. in 2016 the bitcoin price is still $ 900. and today it's been 1 year bitcoin prices reached $ 15000, I regret not buying bitcoin at the price of $ 900 in 2016.

Lol! Exactly. Bitcoin has gone this far in a short perid of time. It has gain its fame not only because of the price stability but because of it unstoppable growth in value. If he’s been a holder for a long time then this one day price change should not make him panic. He must be far sighted.

The difference is that now we all know that Bitcoin is not THE technology of the future. Transaction fees are ridiculous, transaction times are too long, the network is overloaded.

The more people realize it the more the price will drop.

But no one knows when this will happen. Maybe 2018, maybe a few years later. But my guess is by the end of 2018.

At the moment I still would hold.

The best thing to do still is to hold and not to sell. Bitcoin is just experiencing its volatility and it is normal. Its market value will evengually increase so waiting would be much appropriate than to panic selling. This happens a lot and those who will sell will lose the opportunity to earn bigger profit when it starts to increase again.

I think that you have committed a grave mistake y selling your bitcoins. If you had been a long time holder  of bitcoin, then this price fall is  nothing when compared to previous price falls. But i think that this is necessary for bitcoin price to stabilize instead of continuously increasing. If you had bought bitcoins at the price range of $17,000,then its surely a matter of worry. But if you had bought it earlier than one month, then you have nothing to worry about.I think that its now time for bitcoin core team to decide about activating lightning network to bring down the transaction fee.

Just dont mind the change of price from time to time and think of the result long term if you keep holding your Bitcoin. Price and dump is normal when we talk about crypto and even stocks, Bitcoin has a limited supply so the longer you hold the higher the price it can go. What i mean is since it has a limited supply whatever happens now in the price and dump of the coin just think of the longer term when the supply reach its max what would be the price of Bitcoin then? So i suggest that just hold your Bitcoin.

I'm one of those that bought in when it was in the 17k range, so yeah I'm definitely anxious and worried as well. I see a lot of comments being very dismissive of the drops and saying to just wait it out. Is this really what's happening? That it's a minor price drop and that it will pick up speed again in the coming days? I was sitting on such a high last weekend when I had ~1500 profit from this thing and now I'm all anxious and checking it all the time. Where do you guys realistically see the price going in the next few days?

How can a true holder worry that the bitcoin is having a return of 60% just in the month of December, and 1600% throughout the year? Actually I do not understand how a person can be called a bitcoin holder and not have enough patience to resist smoothly a slight drop of 20%, which in the market of cryptos is very ordinary. Maybe it's better for you to sell your bitcoins and put the profits in a bank.

It's really hard to watch bitcoin dropping but instead of worrying better keep trusting bitcoin because as every time we experience this there is a revenge in price after and holder will celebrate by receiving a much higher value bitcoin fluctuates and that's normal what important is whenever it falls it will end up rising

I do not know what you are talking about the price of bitcoin has gone down somehow but nothing to be alarmed, the price could crash to 3000 dollars and I will not sell any of my bitcoin since that will still be a good price for me, you need to ask yourself the next question, are you willing to hold if bitcoin crashed an 80% in value? If the answer is yes then you are a true holder.

Long term it is still good so not to worry with these fluctuations. It was hit harder in 2015 and some investors weren't sure if it was ever going to come back to $1000 mark. Now, the trust is more

I think that it is a hard time for holders because of the sudden rise, and not because of the price fix,and let me explain why:

It is really hard to stay an holder when the coin goes up like that because you will have to watch your profits grow from the side and not to sell.

It is much easier to hold at a loss as you will wait for you to be at the green side which usually happens .

I completely disagree, I do not know why you think that is easier to hold when you have losses, that is one of the hardest things to do and almost no one does it, after a few weeks and months people begin to lose hope and sell their investments thinking there is never going to be a recovery, holding when you are in profits is very easy, the price could go down 50% and I do not care since I will still have huge profits.

Actually I think that for a hodler committed to the ideals and technology of bitcoin, the price changes and volatility have always been irrelevant, so they will continue to hold the coin to the end. Actually, the hard times are for the holders motivated by mere speculation, protected under the famous slogan "to the Moon" that today more than ever seems to get too complicated.

I agree with you, it's tough to hold when you're at a loss like I am currently, but it would be a rookie move to sell it now at a loss knowing it's most likely a normal correction as many people here are stating, and that the price will surely (and maybe slowly) climb back up. Hodling is hard when at a loss but necessary.

I am still not affected by the dump of bitcoin because I believe on this and I know it will bounce back. This is a great technology that we really need for a better future, and bitcoin will lead us to that way.

Indeed, hardtimes for Bitcoin such as this measures the patience of an investor. If an investor will choose to sell at times like this thatbitd market value is falling, opportunity of earning bigger profit will be gone. Chances are high that if an investor will choose to hold, bigger profit will be earned im the future.

I guess a hard times for a holder we didnt know the fluctuation of btc price if until it will fall. When we watch the market we think usually of our negative portfolio that our funds is not met and profit. Yes it will raise so hold btc for a moment to grow.

Looking at the passed record of the movement in the price of bitcoin, you will notice that every time there is highly push in the price of bitcoin it drop to a certain level which it will maintain to gain more momentum, like when the price first hit $1000k it dropped but it could not go bellow $700, when it hit $9k it dropped but could not go bellow $5k now it hit $19k and is been dropping but have never go bellow $10k. So there is hope that the price is gaining momentum to go above $20k in the nearest time.

Undoubtedly, the bitcoin rate rests on the support line, and does not fall below.
Now he has already accumulated resources, he is trying to break through 14k.

Imagine how hard it could have been for the people that bought at the top of the bubble in 2013, they needed to hold for several years, I'm sure that many people did not do that, sold, and they lost hope in bitcoin, those that held are getting their just reward and those that did not are getting punished by losing the faith in a great invention like bitcoin.

This is due to massive correction, we can not control this big problem at all. What we are gonna do is just to sit and stare at the market until it recovers. Do not worry bitcoin is king, next month might have new ATH so just hold for a while

I can feel your worries mine also is getting afraid of what might bitcoin is heading now I know at some point bitcoin has proven that it stays strong no matter how it drops it always manage to pump but taking risk is something not everyone is good at I know some are making panic now some sold their coins. I don't know where to stand after this but we must trust our investment no matter what

For long term holders, it is not a big deal at all because they have made some good profits throughout the years but when it comes to those who recently started investing, it is without doubt some tough times ans they might be sitting on needles at this point but they shouldn't be reckless and hastily cashout, Patience is a key.

You really can't say that bitcoin is wounded , after all what it has done in just 2017 !
Some people actually forgot that we started this year with a 1k dollars per coin and now are approximately at 15k per coin , not forgetting that it reached 20k at it's all times high ! All of this was done in just 1 single year . Those who think that bitcoin is struggling did recently knew about it , but those who were here from the beginning certainly know that this is a perfect progress and that bitcoin will certainly reach a higher value in 2018 .

You talk about only recent 2 years. Before that you had completly different pattern. Price hit 1000$ and then it was dropping and dropping without any hope of recovery for almost 2 years. There was even Bloomberg article that BTC is the worst investment of 2014. Currently there are also plenty of potential news which can suddenly stop BTC and whole Cryptocurrenty market increase.

A lot of them did not have such a problem (e.g. me) because Mt.Gox stole their founds. There was no question HODL or not, cause you had 0 BTC anyway.

yes but i think iff we want hold for long time , so no tanson , i think after few day we can recovary our loss , and also big boom coming
The price is set to go up real soon, there is a lot of people that have money read to invest into Bitcoin.
Is somewhat to say say that, bitcoin investors are being tested how strong they are. Patience are very important at this time, since bitcoin price are dumping selling of our coins is not a good idea. We should be positive always and thinking that tomorrow will it recover.

Today, Bitcoin is still on top of coinmarketcap. So, we need not worry about the decline in Bitcoin Prices. Because I'm sure, many newcomers who directly buy Bitcoin for the investment.

In this way you will be stuck in the continuous loop of buying and selling your coins and never able to enjoy that money. There is no doubt that bitcoin will rise over the coming days but there lies equal probability that it may not, so if you are unsure about your investment in the coming days you can sell your coins because no one doing to come for condolence if your loss your money. But if you have invested the amount which you can bear to loss then wait for the high tide and then sell.

We had some difficult weeks but now things are a lot more easier for a holder, bitcoin has a healthy price of 15k which is not bad, as long as you did not bought when bitcoin price was very high then you probably have lots of profits already, in fact I would say that this is the right time to buy since the price seems to be stable, and we know that we are only one news away from bitcoin skyrocketing again.

There is nothing negative about the price of bitcoin,it had its rally and now the price is trying to stabilize and we are seeing the price in range ,neither it is going down further nor going up and for any traders these kind of volatility is the thing they wanted as there is a big opportunity to make some good profit in these kind of market situations.
