Title: The candidate to best chain of the year

I am convinced that Bitcoin will eventually be killed. Dare to name the assasin :)

Bitshares still hold to be the best candidate for the blockchain system with solved on its scalability problem. But there are some categories right now. DAG (iota, byteball), Ripple. But the fact that the only blockchain can be implemented the dapps support. I doubt about another system. Ethereum is the best right now.  ;D

Perhaps not original but ...kind of true :) I like IOTA but does it have smart contract capability built in?

Bitcoin looks now like the big brother and all that, but there is need for better chains in terms of efficiency and specs. Many of these are upcoming and may be the cromagnon to the bitcoin neardenthal.

Killed?? I don't know about that, but overtaken in market dominance? Most definitely, and I think it will happen in 2018 by ETH.

NEM will give the most percentage gains for 2018.

Dude, NEM is a good coin, but do you really need to spam every thread with a "NEM MOON" type comment?

How come nobody mentioned Ethereum on their chain of the year list. It was top 5 for gains this year and has exploded the cryptocurrency seen with ERC20 tokens. Not sure if it will be the go to platform in 2018 because it seems like a lot of other platforms are vying for this ICO power too. Look for NEO, ETC, MSP, and more to begin launching ICOs on their respective platforms.

Lisk is in the buy zone right now, it will be making a move up shortly ;) NEM is another coin that will continue sustained growth for some time. Lots of news coming for both.

The list of crypto that will be the best candidate crypto in my opinion is ethereum (ETH), monaco (MCO), minexcoin (MNX). I think the three coins have a stable value, even tend to continue to rise.

I dont know about bitcoin killer but there will be way more than one coin which will take the spot light, one chain cannot rule them all, more project will emerge superior project will stay, weaker ones will go obsolete

Oh, it was a way of speaking. Obviously Bitcoin enjoys a marvellous health. Pretty much as the Roman empire before the barbarian invasions I mean LOL. It is the pionner coin, but is destined to be surpassed.

I must congratulate you on the boldness, but unfortunately here is not the wonderland, coming back the question, not going to be surpassed, but there are coins that can be on the side, Ethereum, Waves, Neo, Eos, Burst, Counterarty are examples.

Thanks, it is true that this looked like a bold prediction when I made it, but as this are running today, Bitcoin being surpassed has evolved from a very unlikely event to a "may be" if not to "possible" status. I now even dare to name the assassin: Ethereum

SpankChain

COuld you provide some argument for this? The name does not seem particularly promising TBH and there is no hype on the community. Perhaps everyone is afraid of being spanked.

in my opinion the coin of the year will be universa (UTN), it's still not avaialble because ico ended few weeks ago, but it has great potencial and a promising team that is working hard to develop a nice product. the core ideas of universa are:
-fast transactions
-low fees
-great scalability:  try to have many transactions for every second, now bitcoin and eth aren't very scalable
i will hold it till at least 1$

We have been over this through time. No coins can really topped bitcoins supremacy. In terms of reputation and price on the market, no altcoins can do it. Just like what happened on the recent fall of the market when everything just dipped like what bitcoins did.

I cant not to shill NEO for 2018.

I think NEO is one of the Ethereum killers that is still trying to get a Knife and I could say the same for waves I assume. But yeah, why not, good chain and tecnically sound.

What is the main purpose of universa and the team behind? I have heard the name before but I canīt really assess it suitability as a chain per-se, is just too blurry.

I'm sure that Bitcoin will not be killed as long as it has a great number of user.
Eth and ripple or other IOTA coins may accepted by massive folks that can gradually oversee bitcoins, however, in short term aspect such as 5-10years, it is totally impossible for bitcoin to dissappear.

Although bitcoin is now declining, but bitcoin is still hunted by people. And on the other side there is an ethereum that will catch up, seeing investors begin to glance at the ethereum
