best altcoin in 2018 is DAT (Datum Coin), NXT and AMM. because altcoin has a good value for the future, and the price is still cheap because it is still below $ 1 and next year the price will increase to $ 6 - $ 8

Better to choose what altcoin which is already in top 20 in coinmarketcap because mostly those are gaining month by month.
So don't waste time buying this before its late..

Electroneum,
Even though its a young company,  its intended use has alot of potential to make it a great coin to get behind.

I like young promising projects like Universa, Bitclave, Comsa and so on. I believe that they will raise a lot due to their concepts and teams. From the top-10 coins I'd like to choose NEM, ETH and LTC.

Ripple and ETH  are my choices, but now that Electroneum was mentioned, I remember this to be an interesting new coin. Will try to look into more details about it and thanks for the reminder.

XSPEC - most advanced privacy coin. This will rocket soon. Do the research yourself and see you at the lambo store.

BoolBerry will go to moon, i am telling you. It is an old altcoin with stable price and its developers are back!

ETH is my choice i think it will rise x3-x4 in the 2018 .
Also i think NEM is underrated.An it price also rise in 2018.

My imho,

NAV, ARK, ETH and many others. I really think that 2018 will explode allot of projects. Its not about which will rise any more but about who will rise most.

My choise is ETH. I think 2018 will be the year the Ethereum protocol shows its utility, proof of stake will start becoming a foundation in many blockchain infrastructures following Ethereum’s success.

I have an expectation from waves and this will be something like 5x in a short time. The target for waves in 2018 should be $100 easily and this will create good news after all.

More people will know waves platform as a from of DEX.

That is probably enough of the staples. I feel like the future of anonymous projects will be huge. Also, I think the WAVES platform and DEX has been destined for success since the first day I saw it early this year. I also have some high hopes for the obvious projects such as NEO, OMG, LTC and even MONA.

I would go with under 30th in coinmarketcap. looking the relationship with marketcap ant it's price, i loaded bag with, ADA, IOTA, XRP, NEM.

I still have very high hopes with Ethereum, I think other than bitcoin it has the highest potential among other coins. As we can see there are many token created from the ethereum platform.

I cannot believe I bought LISK a week or so ago, and then completely forgot I put all my purchases on standing order at a fixed 10% gain. I usually change this after a few days but somehow forgot about it. Today, I was so excited to see it at 145k satoshi. Logged in to sell my coins but found out, sadly, that the order had triggered at my original price of 99k. Ok, so I made 10% from that trade but I could have made almost 60%.

By the way, I think LISK is one of the best to hold for 2018. I will rebuy in once it goes back to 100k after today's extremely good run of moving more than half its value.

this is easy pick for me because a love anonymous alt coins like monero, pivx, onion, kore, zcash, zcoin etc.. These coin have the most value for me and i think the price only go up in upcomming months

I think ETH is not done yet. It continues to rise now, and i think it will continue to rise in 2018 also.

I think the altcoins that I choose to come in 2018 are the bitconnect because the price is high and this is legit in the field of cypto currency coin so it's better to have bcc because it follows ethereum and bitcoin that it also lasts They are as good as their price as they are my choice because they can also invest in them and hold money like bitcoins.

I fully agree with this. Although do not forget about the top 20 coins. Now there are a lot of new and promising coins and some already exist in the top 30. Everyone has his own opinion on promising coins, only time will tell who is right.

ETC , XMR, LTC and Dash . they are best coins. You will make profit by holding them in your wallet. The growth of price is amazing. The price never bumped. I have LTC in my wallet and mine LTC too. That is a great coin.

besides bitcoin became the favorite coin of course i have predicted will altcoin which has good potential for future like some coin this Eth, Waves, LTC, Neo, and Zencash i think coin has good potential in the future and deserves to be choice investment long term .

in my opinion the best altcoin for 2018 is the ETHEREUM because they have the potential to the future is good so that you can see from the graph of the price movement of the eth will be better able to compete with other than altcoin bitcoin so This will be an issue for consideration
 

Cardano (ADA) is a smart contract platform which could have a huge breakout year in 2018. It's backed by solid, peer-reviewed science and has an excellent team behind it (including one of the ETH co-founders)

Ethereum Blue (BLUE) is already up around 2000% in the last 4 weeks and currently sits at just 5300 sats even though hardly anyone is talking about it. Their stated aim is to bring better security to crypto. Quite a big aim but the team consists of people who worked on payment security for VISA and wish to apply the same to blockchain payments. After analysing the second half of 2017, I would suggest don't look for altcoins, long term. Do short term trade comprising of some days to months with altcoins and stay in BTC for long term. Altcoins work in this way.

No matter how large cap a coin is, after a bullish period a dump always happens when it comes to altcoins. So, it is better to not go for a coin for whole 2018. But find a coin which have news in Jan or Feb and buy them now to sell them in pump.

I will recommend storm to be one of the best altcoin in the year 2018. And bitcoincash , etherium , litecoin. They have the highest potential in rating that they are rises significantly. I just hold a little bit of those altcoins , and i have good hold of storm in my wallet. I will wait for those altcoins to rise more in their value. To be able to sell it in a fair price for me.

Crypto will be very famous in 2018. So I guess, Altcoins with understandable product will be trendy like : crypto card payment, social crypto, ...

I would invest in Ethereum and Dogecoin because the two coins now have a trend to climb even higher

        For me is ethereum because it is the second to bitcoin.Ethereum and bitcoin would be still the best altcoin this year and this coming 2018 for me,you can gain great profit and less risk than the new altcoin release..

Ethereum and Ethereum classic , both are very good, as ether will be always used for the Smart contracts so, its an only way to hold.

I still newbie on trading and reading a lot to see what project will I dive into this 2018. I only have etherium, wave and litecoin in my investment. Though I still be holding it for lobg term investment, Im still lookibg for new one coming which can be trusted. This suggestion is helpful. Sime of it im decided to put some. Good luck to us.
