Title: List of "known good" tipping services?
Post by: d4n13 on July 26, 2013, 03:46:16 AM
Since I first got into crypto-currency (last month) the amount of pan-handling is intriguing.   I see it kinda like that guy with the guitar in the park with tip jar by his guitar.

I don't kid myself, I don't think Alt-Coin tipping is widespread by any stretch.  I've got my tipjar out like the rest.

This leads me to the interesting idea of micro-tipping services.  There are a few out there and was surprised I didn't find a more complete list.  What I've found so far are:

Flattr
GitTip
r/bitcointip

Does anyone use these, and are there any others.

Wasn't there a stackexchange like service that could earn tips by answering questions?

I tried out Pikapay which is a twitter payment system, it seems to work pretty well. The only downside I found with it is that you have to give them permissions on your twitter account so I don't see it being mainstream anytime soon. I think that is the only operating twitter tipper the old one shut down.

Not sure if I understood correctly the question!!

Anyway, I like the style of this one: https://www.bctip.org/
Isn't it cool?

Twitter has 3 permissions levels.

PikaPay uses the second, so that you can combine a Tweet with the Bitcoin transaction.  Test it out with another account to get an idea how it works.

Why give money to someone else?

Because they provide added value, deliver goods and services, you like what they do, it's good for the bitcoin economy, etc.

Are we speaking of the people we are tipping or the services offered to aid in tipping?  If we are talking  the individual I agree
