Title: Iota Wallets
Post by: mayo2u on December 21, 2017, 04:04:22 PM
I've been exploring Iota and find it very interesting. I'm still exploring how the network stores UTXO - their mempool - and verifies transactions. (And going into the DAG rabbit hole has been fun.)

I downloaded the wallet (simple version) and see that it's seed based with the seed, which functions as the username/password transmitted to the network. To see your funds you can open up any instance of the wallet, type in your seed and view your addresses.

I open and close the wallet and each time I get a new receiving address but do not see a history of my other, newly created, addresses.

I was looking to create a series of addresses, as I do with BTC.

Is this because I have not yet transfered over any Iota?

Or is there a different paradigm with this wallet?

Also here a simple guide how to install it in simple steps: https://iota.readme.io/v1.2.0/docs/general
