Well I've moved some hash rate your way (user name shyliar on your pool...my litecoin handle) and am very pleased with the 0.03 percent stales I'm getting. Also look forward to hopefully mining that first block. Mining should be fun as well as profitable so I'm looking forward to winning that 10 litecoin finders reward.  ;D

Just to confirm the pool has found and confirmed it's first block. It was a very long round but hopefully we do not see many of them.

1st block confirmed and rewards have bee paid to the miners. Also well Done to Shyliar who actually found the first block and has been given a 10LTC bonus.

4 bonuses left to pay out for the next 4 blocks.

Pool is currently at 35 MH/s which is a great achievement in such a short time.

Well it is nice to be first at something and dcwsco has rewarded me with an extra 10 litecoin. I think that's a substantial reward. Still getting extremely low stales here and secretly hoping I find one of the next 4 blocks as well.

I also want people to know that dcwsco surprised everyone and actually credited each miner double the payout of the first block. He's happy to let all the miners who participated in that first round enjoy the double payment. Obviously a sign that dcwsco intends to run a very good pool.

Saw this thread last night and pointed my 2 x 7970's at the pool while sleeping. Awoke to find Block #2!!! Looking forward to getting that extra reward =D thanks guys!

Well done on finding the second block. It goes to show you how much luck is actually involved mining for LTC when a smaller hash rate can turn up the block!

Good luck with block 3 for the 10 LTC bonus and I'm glad your happy with the pool. There are a lot more miners jumping on now and the hash rate is going up at a nice rate whilst the stale rate is still staying very low.

Well I'm very pleased to have found the third block. Sometimes I've gone for weeks and found nothing and then finding 2 in a matter of days. Lightning can strike twice emunebtk :)

Maybe a few minutes more on that 6th block. Very long round this time. We did have 2 great rounds earlier on however so it all evens out.

I know. This is a terrible round and not what we need right now. It is really all about luck and pools with larger hash rates have better chance.

That 10 LTC bonus really does not want to be found!

Holding in there as have waited this long so no point in skipping out now and losing any shares I have accumulated

Issue with the payouts, they were not enough. Looking into it now and announcement on the home page. Will be paying all the miners what they should have got manually and reviewing the issue now.

Glad the round is out the way but lower payout leaves a sour taste for everyone. I know I still have work to do.

Nice to read about the updates.  Too many pools have no news at all what's going on.  Let's get that next block going :D

Very well handled on every aspect dcwsco and appreciate the updates as well and of course manually transferring the coins missing. This is the type of support/service all pools should learn from and will be calling this place home on my LTC mining days. Damnit I need more Gpu's! =D  Thanks again for all the hard work dcwsco and will see you back there shortly.

Hopefully I find one soon. Been forever since the last one lol.  Good work on the pool. Been mining it since before the first block is found and is amazingly stable :)  Also guys give dcwsco some positive feedback under his trust feedback reputation or whatever it's called on here if you have had a good experience like have.

Thanks for the positive feedback. Really happy to hear. It has been a bumpy few weeks getting this far but over this time Stratum has performed amazingly well. Stable and fast which is great to see.

We had problems with the web frontend slowing down on long rounds and this should now be resolved and a lot of the payment processing will be going on in the background now whilst the webfront crunches the stats on its own. Big changes but so far looking good.

Old visualization platform that was giving me troubles is now gone, all servers migrated across to a much more well known platform and it is running just great. Snapshots and backups are having very little impact on the servers and no noticeable slowdowns for users . I built it originally on Proxmox which is a free and open source hypervisor but it would pause the servers during backup and snapshots, not acceptable when every share counts. So anyway that is gone.

Remember and spread the word if you enjoy your experience here. It would be great to see the hashrate head over 100Mhash and really get the block times down. I'm currently thinking about ways to get the name out there a bit more and spread the word. It has really been a hard few weeks. I thought I had put a lot of effort into the pool before it went live and that is nothing to the amount I have put in over the last 3 weeks. I really do feel like we are off and going now thou and it's great!

Love this pool :)  But the bigger miners keep kicking me off the top 15 list xD Come on let's solve this block! :D

We just solved the block and then another block 5 minutes later. Great round after what was a bit of a longer one.

General mining question I have yet to figure out after about a year of mining.  Is there really any difference in using 1 gpu thread or 2?  My average hashrate turns out the same using 1 or 2 threads, but is there any edge with using one or multiple threads per gpu?

AFAIK it doesn't make a difference :P

I have not seen it make much difference either. It can sometimes depend on your GPU which one actually works TBH!

I've seen one graphics card take one config, another GPU of a different brand hate the same config. Half the fun/frustration of mining is finding the sweet config for each card.

Thanks for that extra LTC reward for the next block found David..definitely a long round but keeping fingers crossed that we find it any hour now and especially that i find it..lol

Ok well I don't know what to say about this round. It is terrible...... Probably one of the worst in LTC history and obviously not what we need as a small young pool.

We have seen a lot of miner leave and I can't blame them. Everyone needs to make a return on their rigs.

I totally understand if people need to go to another pool with a bigger hashrate. At the end of the day I set this up for miners and at the moment we are clearly not providing. Sadly this is something I can't control.

Something I can however is the block reward so I'm putting it up to 50 LTC this round. It won't help everyone I know and only one person will win it but it is a small thank you for the amount of effort people have put in during what has been a very very hard round.

There are no guarantees how long this round will last but I hope this helps.

So in short..... next block = 50LTC bonus.

Yeah FTC pool is not doing much just now.

To be honest I launched it along side LTC123.NET but I'm focusing on LTC just now. I'm not at a place with the LTC pool yet where I'm happy yet. FTC pool will stay active and will be worked on when I'm happy enough with LTC.

A couple of really great blocks gone past with a good payout :-) Really helps when we have a small hashrate.

I have been making some changes to the pool and I still have a couple to make.

Please can you see below and please feel free to provide feedback.

Difficulty

This has now been changed to 128 from 16. This means miners submit less shares and have to request less work from the server. For GPU miners this is a great change and also it helps people on slower connections. From my perspective it reduces server load dramatically freeing up overhead for when we are mining at 4Ghash ( :-P ).

One downside is that it has screwed up the percentages on the block stat page. It is still calculating them on the amount of shares we needed at diff 16. This will dwindle away as we find blocks at the new diff and will end up correct.

Payout System

One of the biggest requests was to transition back to PPLNS. This is now done. This rewards pool loyalty and means that the big hitters cant dump a lot of shares and move on. Everyone mining with us then are treated equal. PPLNS is set to take an average of the last 10 blocks so the PPLNS value will change slightly from round to round.

Competitions

Again from feedback. Monthly comps are gone. Block Finders Fees are here to stay all month and are still 5LTC each. Smaller prizes more often so I hope this is a welcomed change.

I also want some long term goals for miners so here they are....... 1600LTC worth of them :-)

3 milestones, 3 draws.

100Mhash, for 7 days = 100LTC

500Mhash, for 14 days = 500LTC

1000Mhash, for 28 days = 1000LTC

The more the pool grows, the more we pay out. Granted these prizes will not be won overnight but help the pool grow and unlock the next level.


Fee Changes

As planned from day 1 pool fees will be going up to 2%.

There are a lot of expenses to running a pool of this quality. We have multiple servers, a fibre connection, a lot of backup storage and not to mention the huge amount of LTC up for grabs. For the stability, support, quality and competitions on offer 2% is a modest fee.

Please note fee's will NEVER rise above 2%. There are no plans now or ever to raise it higher.


Transaction Fees have now been reduced to 0.02LTC from 0.05LTC. The amount of LTC you can keep in the Pool will increase from 60 - 100LTC.



This has been a month of ups and downs for the pool (mostly the hashrate). For September I would live to see us head back into the 50-60Mhash with 100 in sight. I will try to foster this as much as possible and hopefully we see new and old miners alike return to the pool and hopefully you guys can help do the same.

It is tough being a small pool and of course it will not be for everyone. The biggest problem people were finding was the long block times. This way people can enjoy regular payouts which I think means more to folks just now than those good lucky rounds.

Your right it takes the luck away from miners but it also takes the bad luck away too and this was something that seen the hashrates drop a lot. There are some great PPLNS & PROP pools out there and at 30Mhash the pool simply can't compete.

PPS gives miners the security of running on a small pool and puts the risk at my feet for those long rounds.

I think given the size of the pool this is a much better payout scheme for most.

I'm always happy to hear your input and criticisms alike and I'm sorry this has not been a good change for you.

Finally I'm going to lock off this thread now and start a new one to reflect the change to PPS.
