Its been in a safety deposit box for a few years.  Maybe it is copper with gold plating.  Working on that now.

When did Casascius make a gold 5 BTC coin? I thought that the 5’s were all nickel?  ???

there is no such thing as a 5btc casascius gold coin...

Coin is 2012.  Is there an easy way to post a picture?  I only get code snips.  Also can I post photos of the front of the coin or will the BTC be compromised because I can see 8 Digits of the 1 of the BTCs.

Hitting the sheets now for 8 hours but I will get photos up soon. Thanks in advance for the help.

Displaying the firstbits won't compromise your coin. The only thing that can happen is someone would send it some BTC thus making it be funded with more than FV. Regardless, you can take some pictures and then blur out the firstbits and post publicly.If you need any help, let me know :)

I'm guessing you have a 2012 casascius nickel-plated brass 5btc coin with a gold holo (series 1 error).. you might get ~6btc for it in the current market.

if you would like to sell it, take some good pictures of the coin with your username and date.  it will sell for more than 5BTC for sure.

Accidently voted Its worth slightly more than 5 Bitcoin value instead of Hold on forever that thing will be worth millions one day..

But yeah man, if you really have this, it would be worth double, since there are no gold casascius.
