Up until yesterday night, I have never seen another lower priced altcoin or Bitcoin move higher in price to another higher priced altcoin or Bitcoin. For example, if ETC moved higher than BTC or LTC price move higher than ETC.

For the first time last evening, I witnessed a lower price altcoin in XRP move higher in price of NXT. XRP was trading at .98 and NXT was trading at 1.14. XRP started to gain momentum and traded past 1.20 while NXT went down to 1.05. I have never in the history of watching altcoin and bitcoin prices have I seen this. 

Every altcoin and bitcoin has a competitor. BTC's competitor is ETC and ETC's competitor is LTC. Even the technology may be a little different it would be amazing to see LTC jump above in price to ETC or ETC price move higher than BTC.

Another first is seeing XRP price now below NXT after it moved higher in price.

yups its crazy ever, i think all trader want to get more profit in end of year, its more speculation, in few hour getting pump, later getting dump..hmmm

This market is a lot of surprises but if you are careful and should make profit early then surely you are happy now because not only ETC, LTC, XRP but almost all of the altcoin are down the crowd trend and this makes the seller soon have a warm Christmas

We saw ups and downs like this a lot of times. If you see 2013 crash it was worse. Now we have experience, we can see this very normal. Newbies panic everywhere. They need to learn this process. None of coins can go up and up all the time. There will be corrections, bear traps, bull traps, long bear market, just like we had one of the longest bull run this year. It's all part of this business.

Welcome to the world of crypto. I'm sure you meant ETH and not ETC, though I doubt any Eth people will ever dare to speak of competing with Bitcoin again so soon.

During times of extreme volatility, you'll see more and more abnormal behavior. In fact, today Bitcoin had its biggest daily loss, so this will be a huge shock for everyone who's new to crypto. I'm included in that bracket, though not as much shocked as relieved it wasn't a worse crash. Times are heating up for 2018.

What is the correlation between the coins you mentioned?
Why is ETC the BTC competitor, why not ETH or any other ETH fork, really?
LTC is a competitor of ETC? LOL, LTC is a simple BTC clone, much older than ETC. And besides that ETC is just a fork, it's a smart contract platform, can't compare with LTC which is first gen crypto and can't really be used other than moving value.

Ethereum classic? Wouldn't ever say it is competing Bitcoin even ETH isn't yet a true rival.
I checked coinmarketcap and I saw that almost all coins had a red colour..which is against your theory

all the newbies here did not witness the real blood and dump! But u will..take it from me

we see bitcoin crash and  Altcoins  rising but today all is red

I have already seen a little crash, but not a so big crash of Bitcoin. Altcoins are going to crash more as their prices went higher in percentage compare to Bitcoin.

These are commong and expected things. It's not a rocket science, market made dump on us and we lived this before as well. Don't spend your time by linking the prices of coins with each other. This is meaningless.

If bitcoin crash = altcoins crash too.
A lot of people will never understand this, but this will happen if someday bitcoin crash.

You should know that almost all the altcoins are following bitcoin pattern indirectly.

Me too but lets face it we are newbies and think that bull market will be forever..But It is not true

Crypto market is always like this right after the skyrocket of btc price there will be a time to fall down of its value. When you observe the history it is like a roller coaster the pump and dump is always present. Thus, most taking profit for those who had catch btc when it was at high, indeed this is really a crazy world of cryptocurrencies.

This market is the craziest i have ever seen, expect just anything. Be my guest.
