If Telegram really goes to ICO - it will cause a sensation, since Durov is a famous person, and the service itself is good. Well, the prospects for such an ICO are very bright. It is rumored that the entrance threshold for pre ICO will be 20 m.

This actually looks Epic.
From one of the world's best messaging app.
But I don't know how will they scale to millions of transactions per second on blockchain because it's actually not possible may be they will use their own sidechains like lightning network.

Oh, cool news. We must carefully monitor this project because telegrams are a very cool messenger and I think that this project has a great future.

A privacy and anonymity based messenger combine with the blockchain. Personally, it could be really great, both of it is a strong combination. With a good concept delivered with a reliable team, I'm sure the coin will going to be Succesful.

Definitely project to watch. Is there bounty program announced yet? Once it goes live it will massive. Telegram has approximately 180mln active users. So do the math  :)

What a wonderful news! Telegram is actually the best messenger now and it already has a huge community. Just take a look at the success of Kin. I think it's very good decision to make their own crypto for telegram as well.

I am sure that Pavel Durov will be able to hold a worthy ICO for his project. It certainly will be very interesting and promising. I do not think that lovers of bounty and airdrop are here that theyreceive, so it's not officially confirmed yet, but none of this has been confirmed yet, but this whole world's crypto says about this news! I think they will very quickly collect the necessary amount! I really like ideas when real business conducts ICO and not vice versa. Take for example Uservice (this is not advertising) - they first created a powerful profitable business, and now conduct an ICO. I think that in the near future we will witness a new trend in the ICO, when large companies will start massively tokens.

Everybody perceives Telegram as open source project -  but in fact it is really NOT an open source project.
The core of Telegram, its backend - is a closed source proprietary project, which will never be open sourced and revealed. Only the Frontend clients (web, Android, iOS, etc.)  are opensourced, but it's not enough to be sure that your data is secure.

Telegram is great but still have few flawed so your project could have a chance.

Many people are talking about ICO for Telegram. Do you really think that such ICO with huge userbase may be an industry changer and compete with ETH, for example?
If telegram runs ICO it may show the world that crypto is taken seriously, and can be a cryptoleader in communication industry. But I am not sure that TON may become smthng similar to ETH.

Telegram has played a delicate political balancing act to try and retain its users in the country, shutting down some channels for calling for the downfall of the government, while keeping others open.

The idea is very interesting, but I doubt that the TON coins can give a very big profit for investors. The project has too large appetites for the volume of hardcap.

it seems that for the Telegram team there is no peace of mind because of the success of different ico companies. so it was decided to earn something of their own and not for the sake of the project, but for the sake of earnings, That's for sure.

I recently found out about this Telegram ICO project.  I think it will be very successful and will sell out very quickly.  I hope the token sale will be fair and give an opportunity for everyone to participate.  Otherwise, the whales will just scoop up all these tokens and the rest of us will have to pay a premium price when it hit's the exchanges.

Telegram is about to become one of the biggest ICO projects in 2018, and telegram has a large user base, so I think it will be a good return to invest in this ICO. it must be hot.

For telegram this is a very logical decision. In this messenger there is no advertising, so holding an ICO is probably the only option for telegram to survive.

I've been reading about this and it is a very ambitious project.  They might have the name recognition to raise the amount they are seeking ... I heard 1.2 billion ICO is their target.  It wouldn't surprise me.

That's right. Telegram's owner Pavel Durov spend about 70 million dollars every year on his messenger. Thats great idea to instal blockchain wallet in it.  In China millions people use his local messenger WeChat. It have electronic wallet (but not blockchain) and money transfers between users (p2p and p2b) some times  even more than in PayPal sistem.

I wonder if all this is real. I have heard the rumor from many sources now but they all point to the same sketchy places. It is definately worth looking into, but I doubt they are going to do anything like an early airdrop. The telegram bounty would be INSANE!

This is some incredible idea. but how can they run millions of transactions within a second? Why would they hold over 50percent of the tokens? if they are afraid of outside investors, then shouldnt they just fund the project themselves?

Until we will not recieve the real information regarding this ICO on official sources it is rumors. Rumors everywhere about TON, they are making so hyped this ICO.

Everything that makes Pavel Durov becomes successful. So I think that TON will have a huge success. But only very big investors will be allowed to invest in this altcoin at an early stage. I'm not sure that small investors will be able to buy something. But if there is an opportunity, I think that I must buy.

If the telegram starts the ICO, then I do not think that they will have a bounty. The telegram is very well known and does not need advertising. I think that even ICO will be very fast and few will become owners of their coins. I would invest in their project if there is such an opportunity.

I'm afraid that this project will provide an opportunity to invest only for very large investors. This would be a logical development of events. Big money decides everything.

Why? They can throw some bones to the dogs like Nucleus Vision. Sold out all tokens to "private investors" to make them more rich and than overhype their projects with users, whitelist and send them airdrop, So they will stay as "Fake community" with nucleus and buy from the whales when it hits exchanges. i think that they ico launch will be postponed because of the latest news we have been announced. today Telegram is going to be banned in Russia. no doubts, that will cause some issues with ico.
