Title: Is the era of the airdrop dead?
Post by: camps74 on December 22, 2017, 04:54:13 PM
It appears none of the airdrops pay out anymore.  I have never seen a time where it has just dried up like this.  Have we reached the point that only scammers and info grabbers are out there with fake airdrop forms OR will all the airdrops participated in be paid if/when gas prices go down?  What if gas remains high for longer periods of time?

I sense the death of the airdrop is near.

I agree with this.  They simply do not pay out anymore.  The airdrops are paying out at well under 10% of forms filled in December.   It has turned into a waste of time and an information grab by the schemers.  I have moved on to trading.  You may want to take a look into that as the airdrops are the distraction which is taking away from the main event.

I get the feeling the airdrop is a way to distract all the suckers (like me) away from the real money.

Lets see some of your airdrop payouts for December.

How many applications did you fill vs how many payouts?

Airdrops aren't really something that have ever been a solid idea, airdropping 80-100% of coins has no real value to the developers. Some smaller airdrops will still exist and they can be used as a good tool to generate quick levels of attention in the project but airdropping anything more than 5% or so of total supply will seemingly only hurt the project in the future and so anyone doing is probably scamming.

Think of them like they are an ICO where 90%+ of them are either scams, doa, pump & dumps, or just amount to nothing..

Agree with you, airdrops are dying... I mean, it's difficult to find a good one among different sheetcoins(

BTW (if your talking bitcoin white) suddenly quit their airdrop right in the middle.  This shows poor planning and would make me nervous investing real $$ in them.  It's just unprofessional.  BUT they do have a functioning product and seemingly have some amount of competence in programming.

Semux I missed.  I don't know much about that one.

Most airdrops now are trash and run by some anonymous newbie Deva that have no credibility on this forum and just want to create trashy coins to pump and make money out of thin air from. There is the odd good airdrop but you really need to try and find the good ones and not waste time joining the trash ones. PPT is doing an airdrop for it's coin holders as well as NXT is doing the IGNIS AIRDROP ON THE 28TH of this month and BITCOIN FORKS ALSO ARE KIND OF AIRDROPS AS WELL.

Think of it,95% of the ICOs are scam why the less earning airdrop would be better than ICOs?

a lot of airdrop this month and I think it also affects the market price. because they want to get free gifts or tokens from airdrop. this is the reason crypto holders sell their assets.

No its not yet the end of airdrops. I think its juts there prices of bitcoin and alt coin are not compatible for the airdrops at this very movement. The project manager has to predict how much coins they are giving away free and how much worth they are in the real world.

I mean its easy to think that you don't really want to give away coins which are worth billions of dollars, a stake amount which can actually feed the projects development for next few years.

So until the prices are confirmed for the bitcoin or the market as whole, it will be slower in number for now. Too much fluctuation could cause bigger drift in the rates of the alts that were given free.
