 Litecoin price dropped more than 20% to $229.75 in 24 trading hours. The market cap currently is holding at a steady US$12.50B with nearly US$1.8 billion in trading volume over the past 24 hours. Also, the price touched the 24 hours low of $161.86. Is it a good time to invest in Litecoin?

It's hard to decide now. We need to see whether or not bitcoin will go up first. And then we can invest in LTC after we make sure the correction ended. For me, prices about $200 are okay to enter LTC.

I still believe Litecoin is a long term hold, its future is tied to BTC, and as long as BTC develop which I think will be because of a lot of money entering the space and  Litecoin will benefit from that

litecoin has released litepay beta version yesterday. its gonna be live on February 2018. There will be a liteCard which provide by Visa. With litepay you can store your litecoin or you can exchange them to dollars. You can buy litecoin with dollars on coinbase too. So new comers / investors can buy litecoin with fiat , that gives ltc to grow up . ltc has big volume everyday , its fast and much cheaper than its competitors.
there is many reason that we can hope ltc maybe $1000 soon.

I think Litecoin is a much better alternative than bitcoin bifurcation. There's no need to bite for bitcoin. If the main thread will change, I think Lithecoin is a very strong project.

If you made the investment you are already in profit, I did make some purchases and I don't regret it.

I think for most of the public coins, aside from those that will enable novel games and perform social media functions, their time is short. XRP like it or not will rule them all including the mighty prince LTC, and king BTC. XRP is the fastest most efficient and cost saving tech out there. XRP is about to move in like Walmart and send many alts packing. even IOT which Ripple calls "the internet of value" be dominated. Smart contracts..Check..Ripple has that covered too since 2012.

I believe in the LTC future and I'm sure that LTC will pass 400-500 in 2018.

People are now using LTC a lot after the BTC attacks. Transactions jumped form 20K to 160K.

LTC is still leaving under the shadows of BTC.
Once it can step out like BCH and declare it's autonomy then people will consider it more as a rival to BTC  and not as a baby brother.
Inasmuch as BCH has nothing special that LTC doesn't have, I personally feel the top 3 on the table should be BTC, LTC, ETH and the rest can fight for 4th place.
But here is the truth, @SatoshiLite felt that organic adoption would drive LTC to the level it should be but I strongly feel he should learn 1 or 2 marketing skillz from Roger Ver. Give it to Roger,  I for one doubted if he could raise such an amount from Asia to back his coin and as we can see the propaganda is working: BCH in 4 digit figures, who would have thought.

Like DASH and BCH, LTC  should embrace an aggressive BTL marketing strategy.

The truth is LTC is directly tied to BTC. Whilest BTC succeeds, LTC has no choice than to tag along.
