Title: [XPM] PETITION Primecoin listing on BTC-e
Post by: human on July 27, 2013, 11:41:37 AM
Hi,

I remembered that there where petitions for FTC and CNC for supporting their listing on BTC-e, which is the largest altcoin exchange so far.

Let's do the same for Primecoin! It will be a huge win for XPM to be listed on the largest altcoin exchange.

Another vote from me to see XPM on btc-e.

Primecoin has been pulling in some large daily trading volume figures, btc-e must want some of that.

BTC-e typically requires the dev to bribe the exchange. This us customary in many cultures, but also illegal in many.

This coin is too new for an exchange plattform, I have tested it and found 2 blocks only, but it was a week ago. I have a Athlon X4 640 with 3ghz. I have the latest mikael HP 7 Primecoin Client, but I dont get any blocks. The CPU Miner is also Crap and there are no good mining pools for that coin. So I dont understand the value in cryptsy for this coin.

Bullshit!

1. CPU miner is prgressing gr8!, each giving some performance increase, we are now to HP8, sorry for your CRAP CPU
2. there si a pool and progress in development is outstanding, they resolved many problems, and now they are mining 6-7 blocks per hour! the pools is yPool !! http://ypool.net/stats.php (http://ypool.net/stats.php)

just stop the crap talk because you didn`t find 500$ with your shit CPU

If I had a penny for every troll post you put up, I would be retired on my own private island.

I went through your "last posts" on your profile, and maybe 1 post out of 20 isn't something like, "What a shitcoin," or "Wow I can't believe you're that retarded."

Why don't you just shut the fuck up kid and stop wasting your time here if you have nothing to contribute.

As if we need another smartass asshole here to spam up the place.

Sorry for the mixup, it seems that posting +1s here is allowed. I recieved a clarification on +1 rules in specific places.

Sorry to post once again, but I would like to apologise for excessive editing, I got a more specific clarification on the +1 rules and in this threads case, they are OK. Posting +1s is only not allowed when they are used to "add" to a thread without providing any additional points, thoughts, arguments, etc, or used to bump threads. Because this is just a poll that is asking you to subscribe your interest, more than a +1 is not required. Sorry for the mixup on the rules, I'll try to confirm based on specific senarios next time, rather than trying to generalize rules to everything.

And I dislike almost all altcoins, except for this one.

WHY!

Sorry guys, just asked the boss to confirm, and replied that using +1 is frowned upon as it doesn't add to the conversations, and can be abused by spammers to up their activity. I do find a certain exception in this thread, so if you don't mind, I'll be editing all +1 replies to "I support it" which I suppose is a little bit better, rather than deleting all of the +1 posts and losing 50% of this thread. If I have edited your +1 post, feel free to re edit it to whatever revised message you would like, besides the standard, "I support it" or +1

*edit* The +1s are now, "I support it". Like I said, anyone who posted a +1 that was changed, you are free to change your post to something besides +1 or "I support it", I just didn't think deleting the 39 posts that I had to edit would be the right thing to do. In the future, please try and refrain from posting +1's alone. Don't take this as a formal warning, I too was unsure on whether posting +1 would be appropriate or not.

Stay beautiful,

SaltySpitoon

I'll fix them this last time, but I can't keep editing the +1's, I'm just going to have to end up deleting them after these are fixed. As in my first post in the thread, the same things apply, you are welcomed to edit your post to something other than "I support it". I'm still pretty patient because the +1 rule hasn't really been enforced recently, but please guys read the OP where I link my original post.

by the way, sure I agree that XPM on BTC-E isn't a bad idea, it has a fairly large userbase for being such a new coin, so BTC-E would probably have a considerable amount of trades with a XPM trading pair.

Don't support BTC-E, They will end up ripping you off in the long term.

Such as with Litecoin, they charge 0.5 LTC For withdrawals,

While charging 0.1 FTC withdrawals,

You never know, if they do implement this they will end up doing 3 XPM fee for withdrawal.

XPM/USD, XPM/BTC is already listed on https://crypto-trade.com/ref/Messiah

Just promote the exchange, It is pretty good and is growing in Volume by the day.

Hi,

I remembered that there where petitions for FTC and CNC for supporting their listing on BTC-e, which is the largest altcoin exchange so far.

Let's do the same for Primecoin! It will be a huge win for XPM to be listed on the largest altcoin exchange.

*SIGN*

Cause both of these coins were earth shattering? If primecoin has a future, it will end up on btc-e regardless of any cheerleading done here.

I dont think Primecoin will ever win this prize as the goal of the software is to find long chains of small prime numbers, not long single prime numbers.

Primecoin will never reach those prizes.  The chains primecoin is looking for are betwen 255 bits and 2000 bits.  The current record-holding Mersenne prime, which is  17,425,170 digits long, is a 57,885,161 bit number.

I don't see why we need to petition. BTC-E has already supported PPC, and it seems its only a matter of time for primecoin spot, wouldn't you agree?

I think it is good you are rallying and petitioning, but I would assume they would support XPM as well, since it is a Sunny King's creation :)

That is just my theory!

It is strange since XPM is the third most popular coin and seems to be gaining on LTC quickly.  It still boggles my mind though that Novocoin has the 2nd high value of all coins after Bitcoin, considering the clusterf*ck of a launch it had with the pre-mine and the bribes to BTC-E.

This is why market capitalisation is the true indicator of a coin's value (market price of coin multiplied number of coins in existence).

Novacoin market cap is behind Feathercoin at present.

I read somewhere that 200k Novacoin are premined; that the creator admitted to holding onto 60k and BTC-e accepted 100k to put it on their site. Can't trust everything you read, but that's not a very pretty picture.

They were "donated" 110k NVC in order to list Novacoin.  When it was discovered, supposively BTC-e destroyed the coins by transfering them to an address with no possible private key.  The whole thing was beyond sketchy

yeah this and how the nvc price magically drifts up whenever LTC goes up, then does not really come back down, and the trading is so thin

They know it... A month ago they asked me what is it. I've recommended to add XPM/BTC pair already.

It is arguably the third most popular coin currently after BTC and then LTC (and LTC popularity on the decline). Definitely an opportunity for them and I would rather not keep using mcxnow.  Realsolid does not strike me as trustworthy at all.

I also want to trade XPM on BTC-e, it definitely deserve to be on BTC-e.

But right now: PhenixEX is really great exchange where we can trade XPM! and their affiliate system is working smothly.
Thats why I have referral code in my signature...use it now and have lower fees forever.

I dont get why are you so rude.
Phenixex is very young, but I already made some money through affiliate system and you can also be affiliate...
For few weeks old exchange it is doing pretty well...adding new coins, chat working now, i see continuous improvements.
Yes, the volume is low, but every exchange have to start from zero.

Because you're just thread jacking for your own self centered interests.  This thread is about supporting XPM on btc-e, not on some shitty exchange that was originally created for a scam coin.

I want to see XPM on btc-e added as well as you, it is most reasonable move since FTC was added to btc-e (and CNC was closed). You are right I am offering an alternative, but I am definitely focus on my own interest. I promise to you no more Phenixex propaganda in this thread.

Primecoin is a useless coin, even if there is more work than all other crap coins here...

Only naive people think it's useful for scientific research.

Why useless?

On January 25, 2013, the largest prime number yet - the 48th Mersenne prime - was discovered: It's value is 257,885,161 - 1 = 581,887,266...724,285,951 - the entire number in text format is available for the viewing here. Beware: The number contains 17,425,170 digits and is stored as a 22 MB text-file.

The discovery, like that of all the major primes since 1997, was made at the Great Internet Mersenne Prime Search (GIMPS), a distributed computing network over the WWW. Specifically, it was made on the computer of Curtis Cooper, a volunteer and mathematician. The network itself involves 360,000 CPUs peaking at 150 trillion calculations per second . In comparison, the Jaguar supercomputer - one of the world's fastest - clocks 1,750 trillion calculations per second at its peak.

It won't ever get better than researchers working with supercomputers.

Primecoin is not about finding the largest prime number.
It is not even about finding every prime number.
It is not about finding Mersenne Primes.
It is about finding Cunningham chains. No-one else is doing this. It is useful.

Primecoin isn't searching for Mersenne primes, it is searching for Cunningham chains, and it's broken many world records already. The utility of all primes is debatable, but remind me again what the utility of the SHA256 PoW algorithm is again? Oh right, nothing. The fact that its proof of work is different from all other cryptos alone makes it the #3 coin.

It is a coin with a secure network (high hashrate), 1 minute confirmation times, so far has proved fairly GPU-resistant (though may change) and it does not search for prime numbers.  It looks for cunningham and bitwin chains, useful in cryptography research.  It has already broken over 20 world records.  I like how you comment about a coin you have know nothing about.

BTC-e should not to care about XPM useless or not, it has big trading volume, that's all.

It seems to be in a close 3rd to XPM in trading volume (based on BTC value traded per day, not # of coins) and on some days is ahead of LTC even.
