Title: Coinbase overload yesterday and temporary halt... which platform do you use?
Post by: tossofacoin on December 23, 2017, 11:18:51 PM
So yesterday morning(GMT-8, West Coast USA)) when prices were dumping and jumping, the coinbase platform which I currently use froze and halted and trades were impossible to make. Trading depends upon volatility but you got to be able to place those trades.. yesterday I could not. Which platform do you use and why?

Yes.. Very unfortunately to realize that coinbase was having problems the same day that they listed bitcoin cash + the same day that they pumped bitcoin cash + the same day that GDAX was down for a whole hour because of freezing bitcoin price + the same day that the network got 280k of unconfirmed tx's.

Coinbase is the same as GDAX, so it is impossible to trade in there if the website is down, that is a simple knowledge.

A good alternative to GDAX is obviously Bitstamp or Binance, i would suggest you to use binance because you have a lot of altcoins to trade in there, and it works fine, it is not bugged all the time just like gdax is.

I use Bitstamp and in the past month it has not had any problems or slow downs.

It`s not just Coinbase, most of the crypto exchange platforms have the same difficulties.
A big platform like CEX.IO suspended new user registrations, because they can`t handle all the verification, support and wihtdrawal requests from their users.
This is pretty bad for all the traders ,who want to sell their cryptocurrencies, because of the falling prices.

I use HitBtc the crypto exchange  Due to high bitcoin fees, exchange is unable to perform the bitcoin wallet transfer on time. Because people are investing and selling heavy amount in these days, sometimes the server slows down and bandwidth network overload. I am an old user of six. you and i have my balance of GHS mining one , but its no use now. Also, many terms and condition like , if you want to buy ripple invest minimum 40 coins also minimum withdraw is 0.01 Btc

I was really disappoined when coinbase broke. The price was crashing and I really wanted to use the oppertunity to buy some bitcoin while the price was down. Really sucked that it wouldn't let me get some more, would have been a great bargin.

It took me 3 days to get my coisebase to be successful. Perhaps coisbase is congested, possibly because coisebase is bringing up some new coin that makes the transaction overload. Be calm because the market will stabilize in the near future, everything will support its peak. I hope so much for the bitcoin and its next vertices.

God I actually can't wait to go ahead and leave coinbase, they've had the time and the massive amount of money to go ahead and overhaul everything when it comes to their servers, and their hiring of more customer support to handle the massive influx of people into crypto -- which they knew was going to happen.

I use GDAX at the moment sadly. Can't wait to go on and move over to Gemini or something like that.

I am in NY, so choices are limited sadly enough.

Coinbase and gdax are only needed if you want to buy Bitcoin, ethereum or litecoin. If you want to buy any other cryptocurrency, you have to go for other exchanges. I use bittrex, binance and kucoin. But I use gdax to buy bitcoins since it has no fees.

From the past week we may found the site with the maintenance notice or error occurred while we are loading it each time in the online wallet after logged in to the wallet. Finally they comes with the BCH wallet usage option in the site and application as well.
Let's wait for the other cryptos to adding on the wallet and if you find the error which is not known to everyone you can also able to report their support team for the help of solving the issue you only finds.

Coinbase is having a lot of problems at the moment, the only thing that i can suggest to you is just try to avoid using coinbase, they are going to have a huge legal problem because of the manipulation that they did in compliance with roger ver & bitcoin cash.
