What do you think is the next coin to be added to coinbase and why? I think its either Ripple or Monero. Ripple has great connects to banks, which coinbase likes and Monero is the most popular private coin out there.

I think that it'll be XRP and that recent pump sounds weird.

From what I know, it will be Ripple. Ver even made some inside trades with XRP.

I think they will never add Monero. It is too anonymous coins for mainstream business like Coinbase.

Coinbase will add Ripple to their stable no later than the Jan-Feb timeframe. Monero still does not have the volume that would make Coinbase take interest yet.

Ripple and then IOTA not to long after.

Moreno and no privacy coin will ever be on Coinbase. I don't think the U.S. Government is against crypto but I'm sure they probably are not a fan of privacy coins.

Ripple for sure. It is too obvious for me and there has also been speculations that it will be added in January. Coinbase has shown a clear trendline about the coins the list - only the top coins with good reputation.

Legit business like coinbase doesnt want to add coins that will have their business watch by law enforcers, monero`s transaction is hard to trace which i think will be the last coin to be added in coinbase if they want to add monero.

I also think that Ripple has a great chance of being added into Coinbase. If connected with banks, it means that more opportunities are at hand.

Ripple might be added bit there is no exact news but no chance for IOTA. It's network is very new and it's network is not running well. My transaction is stuck since ages. If coinbase adds these type of coins then users will definately get fucked. Monero or any other privacy coins will not be added because of anonymity issues and Coinbase won't stand against US government.

Thats the reason it WOULD list ripple, because coinbase itself is pretty centralized.

The pump on Ripple could be a sign. And somehow I feel like exchanges fear of adding Monero wallets. Maybe it's more difficult, maybe it's related to the fact Monero community doesn't seem to care that much on promoting the coin, but it's quite a shame...

Monero would never reach out to Coinbase to start listing it, so unless Coinbase somehow wants to hire their own developers good enough to maintain Monero wallets and their own infrastructure, you will never ever see a coin like Monero on there. Coinbase is all about trying to make money, and have the highest KYC available for any exchange. They will never want the difficulty of accounting for a crypto like Monero, with anonymous payments - and real Monero users with needs for anonymity will never verify at Coinbase!

XRP because it will be useful for easy transfer BTC with low cost.

Ripple is a 100% centralized coin, there is no way that it could be listed on coinbase, no matter what.

it is writen on their ToS, they will never allow centralized coins.

it is the same as adding bitcoin as a payment method on a bank, it would be all the opposite of why it has been created for.

I suppose, they will add Ripple first and then maybe Dash. I am still not sure if they are going to add privacy coins like Monero or Stratis.

This. Coinbase has a New York bitlicence, and they will be very careful not to do anything that jeopardizes that.

If you will see increasing amount of XRP trading without price growth, probably, it will be an insider trades which precedes listing

Well, base on the market cap of XRP, I think it maybe likely come through.

Now, on the flip-side, politics may play a very big role in having XRP listing. Why do i say so? Now XRP is centralized(controlled by the banks) and the major actors are mainly Asian Banks calling the shots. Can we say the Asians have upper hand in this protocol Asset called XRP and company and Protocol called Ripple?

Knowing the history of Ripple protocol, the developer and what lead to his exit from Ripple. One may begin to see the State put it's weight on the 'American' asset called Stellar Lumens (XLM).

Stellar Lumens (XLM) was developed by the same person that developed XRP. The asset has been openly embraced by IBM and by speculation the state would like to make sure that this asset is within their jurisdiction/reach unlike XRP.

It would be nice to state that XLM is NOT centralized.

So we may see Coinbase(due to political pressure) taking on XRP and XLM together.

Like said already it will be Ripple and or Dash more than likely. Maybe NEO? I wish coinbase would list a privacy coin. They would all increase a ton if they just added one. But they won't.

I think it would be wonderful if Coinbase added XLM to the exchange and left XRP in the dust. I've been meaning to add some more XLM to my portfolio I would much rather see it on there as XRP even though I own both lol.

IOTA and XMR will be the new coins on Coinbase.
Both are real, innovative and big market cap projects with huge communities.

Ripple may be the top choice. Dash and Cardano maybe later in 2018 too.

IOTA is based on concepts and it's still going through major issues and forks on the testnet so I do not think the timing would be right to put on Coinbase for now until a major milestone is achieved.

I think it's fairly well known ripple will be added, and even more so now that the value has spiked so much, coinbase can make huge amounts by offering it and so they will do just that.

coinbase is an institution, yes. But its not the future. The future are decentralized exchanges with fiat gateways like the waves dex. I do not trust centralized exchanges, to many things had happened.

I completely agree with this. The only think I really hope for is a clear criteria of what is needed to be listed.  Is it a specific market capital threshold? A listing fee, good history and for how long, certain technologies? This would help future altcoins get access to fiat->their altcoin.

Personally, i doubt that if a coin has a built-in decentralized exchange, coinbase would not have an incentive to add them to their own exchange so that might narrow down a few coins.

I doubt it will be either ripple or monero. There is already too much hype with ripple and some dislike centralised coins. Monero is to private so they will fail KYC checks. I'd say ZEC which got listed on Gemini and could easily qualify for more big exchanges
