Bitcoin will rise during the Christmas holidays, just like it did during Black Friday/ thanksgiving holiday. So hold your positions.

can you explain why bitcoin will even go up during christmas holidays? because if in thinking with logic, bitcoin prices should go down, because a lot of christmas needs to be purchased, so people need cash to spend, in the end they turn bitcoin into fiat

any time bitcoin price will be increase, so buy and hold your bitcoin.

A lot of people are actually saying the exact opposite actually, as they think that during this time people are going to be cashing out as they want to be able to buy gifts for people in their lives -- but no one is to really know what people are going to do. It's not like any real research is being done on people, we're all just sitting here speculating.

I hope it does rise though, I've got a pretty high stake at the moment! HODL

Not because bitcoin rose in price in the last thanksgiving holiday and black friday it doesn't mean that it will rise this Christmas holiday too. If it does, I think it's just a coincidence. Some people might need money to buy presents, and some probably received money as presents. So there's really no way for us to know if the Christmas holidays has a positive or negative impact on bitcoin's price.

I think the reasoning is that, due to the holidays, families who hadn't seen each other in a long time get together, and one of the topics that are discussed is bitcoin, because generally one family member is investing in bitcoin. So the other family members decide to check it out as well. A similar effect had also occurred during thanksgiving.

No one can really tell what might gonna happen to the prices of coins because we are in cryptocurrency world so it is volatile. I don't really know why it will increase its value during Christmas holidays. I Hope it will.

The statement that bitkoyn will grow in price for Christmas holidays, contradicts common sense. In all great holidays, people on the contrary do not invest their savings anywhere, but spend them on various purchases and gifts. Therefore, from this point of view, bitokoyn, most likely, will fall in price.
     However, do not forget that his seven forks will now be held, which has always helped to raise his price. But bitcoin, as we saw during his recent growth, is generally poorly predicted.

i do not agree with you. i think at christmas time people will use their money to buy gifts and go for a holiday. so chances are they'll be selling his btc and that's what makes btc down. but after christmas holidays btc will go up again. hopefully.

hey, i agree with you the main problem with the human mind is when the price decreases we sell them all an suddenly it can go moon.then we won't be able to buy it again. so the best thing is to hold it and don't be panic. because BTC always going to be increased. :)   good luck everyone!!

If things repeat itself like last year, then we will expect the value will jumped again, first quarter of 2018 might be the game changer, if we will see same position then holding more bitcoin might be the best thing to do, collect those cheap coins and wait until next year not to rely with holiday rush.

The rise of bitcoin seems to be a direct link between Christmas. Oh, I think the recent vibration is related to the profit of some time ago. Last month, people who possessed chips gained a lot of income, so severe vibration is normal.

I don't think so but its the opposite. Its Christmas holidays and what is the first thing that you will do when this time comes? Foods and gifts so many maybe cashed out some of their bitcoins in order to purchase what they need and what they want to buy this Christmas season and because of that, the price of bitcoin decreases. I think the price of bitcoin will start to increase in the start of the year.

It's more than that. We talk here on 1000s and 1000s of Bitcoin. A bit too many and too expensive presents...
I feel like many have cashed out for other reasons too: end of year calculations, safety against volatility during the holidays and days off, or just pure speculation.


Iirc last year it started to grow before new years eve. I'm curious what will happen in the 3 working days left of this year. Those could be very good or very bad and may give the trend for January 2018.

Look,I think that it's hard to predict the price of bitcoin.Yeah,it's not an easy job.But I am surprised to see your confidence. It will be great indeed.But you know,I am not thinking like this.People have to sell their bitcoin and cash out(change their bitcoins into fiat) to fulfill their needs for Christmas. But yeah,I want to agree with your words of holding bitcoin.To me,holding bitcoin will be much better. It's always better you know.We are hoping that the price of bitcoin will increase in coming year of 2018.But,it's also a thinking,a guess.We can never know what the price gonna be until it happens.

The only pattern I can see from past Christmas seems to suggest the same, a slight petering and consolidation of prices, before a slight dip in January - in the same months alts (even Dogecoin) make a strong run. I doubt holiday season has much to do with anything. Christmas shopping would have been done a week ago, so maybe that explains part of the sell off, though I hardly think the big whales really need to liquidate Bitcoin for a few Christmas gifts!

And yeah, there's no real research on that, so we end up speculating every Christmas but I'd wager that seasonal holidays, just like weekends, have limited impact on Bitcoin market, not to the level of conventional trading anyway. I still suspect the January dip, along with fresh alts impetus, will happen. Not even 10 years of history to prove a pattern but perhaps 6 out of 7 years is enough.

There could be two reasons behind this collapse, either the exchanges are deliberately devaluing bitcoin to move to a different coin, since bitcoin transactions have really become a pain, or due to recent EU announcements to regulate bitcoin, and the whales know it so they are cashing out...just opinion, I don’t think it should fall %50 due to Christmas cash out

What are you even basing this on? Holidays? It's never recommended to make predictions based on practically nothing.

Exactly, this guy does not even understand that the christmas are something more "special", it is not like thanksgiving. In fact, the thanksgiving is only celebrated on the United States, and christmas is all over the world.


Exactly x2, he really needs to understand that if some people withdraws money to buy gifts or whatever the fuck they want, the price is going to decrease, not increase, this is just a little knowledge about simple math of 4th grade.


Bitcoin is decreasing right now because of this (or maybe not) but it will recover sooner or later.

Based on the chart, Bulls are still not strong enough to push the price back up. It's best for us to stay at the sidelines and watch closely.

Not really, all eyes are on segwit2x fork. Christmas will not going to affect the price much but the upcoming segwit2x fork (on 28th Dec) will surely affect it, because people are much suspicious about it and till that the price will remain oscillating around $13-14k.
Don't try to compare it with last year(i.e Dec 2016), that doesn't justify this prediction.

Apparently yes, you're perceptions are quite the opposite. Occasions means spending and that clearly reflects on the prices these past few days. And we can't really track how many cashed out because it's clearly anonymous. Speculations are based on the movement of prices itself but with no assurance of accuracy.

I don't think so. in the past few days, the bitcoin's price was gradually falling. As Christmas is approaching you could see the charts are decreasing. I don't know the factors behind this but I think many people are cashing out their bitcoins for the celebration of the holidays thus affecting the price.

Bitcoin will rise during the Christmas Holidays as many who have a lot of expenditure during the Yuletide season,  would have been done with much spending. After which the Bitcoin will rise again.

How did you know that it will change though? The price are still low at the moment but i like your confidence though and i hope it will go up high because i've already bought some.

Bitcoin price falls over the past few days. Maybe some people sold out some bitcoin before Christmas to buy presents. Now is the time to relieve the falls.

This is a great encouragement for some of us that has not sold our off our bitcoin and we have been holding in other to sell at a good price as the price dropped close to oversold area for the past few days. Christmas holiday is actually time I think bitcoin might go up maybe close to $17,000 and by first week of January I will expect full recovery. Dropping of over 45% is a high significant percentage that we should be worried about but due to the way bitcoin has been behaving I believe that in short time we would recover.

We are still on christmas day but yet the price is still stabilizing on these ranges which havent even give some signs that it would really rise up its price until this year end but well holding our bags isnt really a bad idea though. For i would say it would be much more better to buy even more cheaper coins because i do have a doubt that year 2018 would really be a world breaking record again for bitcoin. Holidays isnt really an always a good indication for us to make positions.

The opposite thing happened. Bitcoin's market value is continuously falling at this moment because transactions in the market is high which makes the demand low as well as its market price. But surely, AFTER the holidays, its value will again increase. We just need to patiently wait and keep holding.

Bitcoin dips this Christmas season and it might recover within the Q1 of 2018. It does give us some sale season before the year ends.

After such corrections and dropped to 13000$ now it is more confusing what triggered this.. In all honesty,, I don’t know what to think now as it all barely no clue or signs before a decrease.. Maybe after the year end there should be some recovery and continuous increases that’s a bull run that will soon reached the 20000$ mark..

Unlike you expected, bitcoin dropped a few hunderds of dollars in it's value. It's around 13k and 14k now and it's been like that for almost a week. It is quite worriying because last week it was looking like it would hit 20k but now it looks like 20k is still a long way to go. The only thing that raised in christmas holidays are the fees. Lots of transactions are being done around the world at this current period of time. The transaction fees reached 40$! Hopefully it will get lower.

between coin you will pay 40% under 1 year or 20% over 1 year on all profits on EACH transaction

no more...dumping LTC to ETH and then to BTC hoard w/o capital gains taxes (or however it worked...I never got into it that far)

I will never believe that the bitcoin price depends on the Christmas holidays. May decrease the activity on the stock exchange but it will not affect the price. All believe in bitcoin and therefore will keep the coins. The decrease of activity can only lead to higher prices. The whales are dumping. They long do not. I have to wait for this moment.

See the prices have gone down opposite to real expectations but now they are becoming normal now but we can make only speculations regarding price as there is no researches about it and many people are asking same thing who have expectations from it but in reality we cannot be 100% sure in this crypto market but only make predictions which can be right or not so we can only wait to see what happens.

Expect the unexpected. I know that bitcoin will not go up this holiday season because a lot of us right now are selling their bitcoin because they need to not just because they already profited into it. We all profited already into it but because its Christmas a lot of us needs to encash to buy some goods and gifts.

It seems that it pumped a little bit during today, but it was not a big "pump" maybe it was just a little big buy wall and it pumped the price, but i dont think that it will increase because of christmas, in fact, it has already passed and the price didn't pumped.

and to think that a few days ago the bitcoin price was over $17000 and today is fighting below $14000... at the end of the year we will  end with the price be below to $16000. I confess that I am sad at this current price.

Every year close to the days of Christmas and new year the price of bitcoin used to keep on fluctuating large scale and finally reaches a bigger price than that of the price from which it started to decrease in value. Hope the growth that hasn't took place by now will surely take effect before the year end.

And I do not think so, people on holidays need money for gifts and a table to cover, so they will withdraw and hence the price will start to fall. So I think that everything will be the other way around.

my relatives know about my crypto for 4 years now...thus I had a lot of folk say they were gonna check out coinbase...

we will see, but looking better then I thought I was expecting drama between 10k and 13k sideways for months

Different people have different ideas about selling, buying and the volatile price. I think that the price will increase during the during this months and the proof is that yesterday the price was 13600 dollars and today it is more than. It means that in the coming days the price will grow more even during this months, and 2018 is the bitcoin year.
