Title: What would the perfect coin look like ?
Post by: tetricoins on December 24, 2017, 08:58:09 AM
I've been giving a lot of thinking about the altcoins recently. Because there is so much money in it, most projects copy / paste an existing one, change variables, names and logos and post on bitcointalk, hoping to moon and pocket the pre-mined coins.

But we have now way more experience with alternative technologies. We have smart contract, pricate send, master nodes, sentinel, asic resistance, etc. We also know what makes a team we trust, and what make community help each others.

So, if you could cherry pick any stuff from any existing coin, what would the perfect coin look to you, give what we know right now ?

Your answer must be:

- realistic. It must be something that can be done right now, not something on a white paper somewhere or out of your dream last night?
- technical. "it must make me a lot of money" or anything like is not interesting. We all want that.
- specific. "It must be fast" or "widely accepted" doesn't help. What specific thing we currently know in other coins would achieve that ?

E.G: "the coin must not use proof of work" or "

You can think outside the box as well and request things about the team (eg: must post at least everyday here) or the garanties (eg: there must be a prepaid hosting for running nodes for the next 10 years to garanty it exists) or the stability (hard forks are mandatory every 5 years) or the marketing (eg: no premining or ICO at all).

fast confirmation, low fee, accepted by merchants, this is for me the best altcoin, you don't need fancy stuff to have a perfect coin imho

I totally agree. I hope we'll see it soon!

Those are very general things.

Saying "I don't want this problem" is interesting, but has limited effect on solving the problem.

Indeed, how to achieve "price is stable" and "more advanced technology than any coin right now" ?

It's like saying "I want peace in the world and the end of hunger".

For the post to be interesting, it's better to point out solutions working eslewhere about specific issues.

I'll add "specific" in the OP for this.

These tokens are built on a lot of variables most of which are volatile and can immensely affect its outcomes. The major thing one would expect from the developers would be working solutions to challenges they are going to encounter and how to curtail future problems that are bound to arise, rather than just wide speculations and wishful think.

fast transaction is not confirmation, you are confusing the two, bitcoin have already 0-time transaction, need fast confirmations, 100% anonymous like monero not sure if good, i see some scammer saying that they have not receiving their money

I agree with the terms you mentioned above.
Perfect coin can do both platforms, the fiat which is used just to buy something as fast as handing over your cash to a merchant and almost no fee to be paid between payments and transactions.
That's what I see on perfect coin just like a real decentralized coin like Bitcoin that has no single person or organization or government or state is behind.

I would say the perfect coin should remain true to its fast confirmation features, low fees, security, "mineable" by even the non-technical community.

Truly. The best decentralized coin would be that it allows everyone to mine regardless of device specifications.

The perfect coin form me if they have a regulation (if possible) so the coin can still decentralized but there's some goverment behind it. The goverment who have mindset to make crypto growth and stay anonymous. This just my opinion.

It looks like bitcoin before it became popular if we manage to make a altcoin like bitcoin before fast confirmation low fee, but merchant accepting the altcoin would be a hard thing but its acceptable if we can exchange it to our local money. if bitcoin was bitcoin before it will surely pass

Perfect coin looks like a bit strange for me. Does every platform and tech can be considered from the same perspective? It doesn't. The basic thing must be the business plan. but the majority of the coin only works on non-sense thing but they are all claiming about to be the perfect currency with only scalability increase.

Even there are some new projects that aim to create the same smartcontract basic with only different on its scalability.

What's the point? it's just a way to attract those users or even investors. You will never find the perfect currency because there will be more and more people just replace the code with another new to increase the old tech into the new tech(the majority of new projects are claiming about this).

A perfect coin with no imperfections seen with a magnifying glass. There should be no marks whatsoever; the coin must look like it just left the Mint. Very unusual in early coins as the mint did not have the quality they do today. Modern coins have been given this exalted grade although there is debate whether coins. I believe that, perfect coin should remain true to its fast confirmation features, low fees, security, "mine able" by even the non-technical community.

There is no such thing as a perfect token, and technology has always been innovative, so no one can predict what will happen in a few years.

I this this depends really on purpose of coin (which is why we have alts anyway). If for general transaction purposes, then low tx fee, high speed, scalability, security, and price stability all important features. However, if looking for anonymity, then maybe this most important feature, or if looking for building Dapps on blockchain like ETH, this more important. All depends.

Thats the challenge of the new ICO developers how till they implement the coin the real world,BTC will still be the king until a good coin will resolve BTC's issues.

Well depends on what the coins purpose is. General all around traits for any coin would be Network Stability, a user friendly interface, fast transactions, great network security and low fees.
