Title: Please help! Trying to set up USB mining with BitMinter
Post by: Benefactor on July 29, 2013, 03:41:23 AM
I was trying to set up a BitMinter account on my computer, but I got the following message:

Quote
"Unable to launch the application !"

And when I clicked on the 'Details' button, I got the following under the Exception tab:

-
Quote
Cache must be enabled for nativelib or installer-desc support,http://bitminter.com/client/1.4.0/lwjgl-x86-win.jar
-

Under the Launch File tab it said:

If you are reading this, and can't help, could you post a link to this thread in the 'technical' thread?  As a newbie, I can only post here, and maybe the experts who can help won't be reading this?

Thank you.

Did you disable the Java cache?

Thank you for that.  It still didn't work, because even in the 'classic view', I don't have Java showing up.  I definitely have Java 7 on my computer, and uninstalled and reinstalled it, already, but it's screwed up.  At one point, months ago, I was fed up with Java and started changing things.

I really don't want to be mining off of the proposed computer, anyway, (sour grapes), so how about this question:

If I just needed a new computer to run 30 USB minters off hubs from, what could I get that would definitely work out of the box, but would be real cheap?  (Really, I'm hoping for a budget under $200, if I can get that to work, hopefully for something 'new'.)

What/where should I buy a new cheap computer for just mining?
