Title: Any specific trends for 2018?
Post by: highperspective on December 24, 2017, 10:23:50 PM
Do you see any specific trends for 2018, apart from just a rising crypto market cap? I'm thinking about focusses on e.g. Scalability, mass-adoption use-cases, more controlled ico's. What do you think is going to mark the market for 2018?

Topics about market trends generally don't go in this forum, so try to keep the talk away from that.  My hope is that 2018 will finally mark the possibility of Bitcoin supporting ACCT, or Atomic Cross Chain Transactions, so that users finally won't have to rely on centralised exchanges to trade altcoins and hop between different blockchains.  Then again, I thought 2016 and 2017 might mark the year that happened too, so maybe I should rein in my boundless optimism and enthusiasm for that feature and just enjoy it if or when it eventually arrives.

But other than that, it's probably going to be more of the same.  More contentious fork proposals because no one agrees on scaling, the traditional finance sector continuing to make bets from the sidelines while pretending they're actually involved in some meaningful way, ICOs out the wazoo, the media focusing solely on the fiat price despite the part where that's actually the least important aspect, etc.

I'm also thinking people will continue to misuse the phrase "mass-adoption" in 2018.  Bitcoin is still nowhere near that, despite our combined best wishes.

yes i see a specific trend of massive adoption of cryptocurrencies in 2018 most especially in my country where fewer number of people are dealing/trading/investing with cryptocoins and making a huge profit from it.

The bitcoin itself will be a big hit and make a devastating impact in those who haven't know what bitcoin is, this couple of last month ago, people are actually making a meme and fun out of those people who took the business of bitcoins seriously, but after they see the outcome i think, i'll speak in behalf of them that they are shocked about it, so i predict that people will focus more in bitcoins that its going to be a trend for 2018

I'm hoping that the altcoins value will eventually be rising to new heights, considering cryptocurrency is so new to people, maybe some of us who've invested in otherwise worthless coins will see a huge gain  :D :D

I see evolution ICO to IPCO(Initial Public Coin Offering), and the growing popularity of coins like Komodo after it.

2018 will be tempered by the possible  offspring of bitcoin, however, the other alcoins are not far behind, currencies such as Litecoin, Dash and Ripple are having a significant advance, in this situation the development of bitcoin in the market will be necessary . time to predict good behavior in the alcoin. On the other hand, mining is not ruled out when it comes to getting some cryptos

I think the ICO in 2018 will be more standard, and more countries will introduce the rules of the ICO. The market trend will continue next year, and bitcoin is likely to stabilize in 20K, and altcoin will have several varieties to become the annual superstar in 2018.

I think the trend in the 2018 there are things that will change like the rulea of ICO they change it, and the other alternative coins have chance to make it superstar and bevome famous in 2018 even tough the bitcoin is still number one digital currency other alternative coins become famous.

There is no doubt that bitcoin will still be the first value of the market in 2018. Its price may continue to rise, but its share in the encrypted market may be preempted by BCH, ETH, RIPPLE, and LTE. ICO will continue to decline, but there will be several valuable projects listed on the big exchange.

Probably lightning network on bitcoin. We need a solution for this scaling issue as soon as possible.

Decentralized future for just a lot of things, whether it comes to shared marketplaces (DNM, Airbnb, Uber, etc.), ICOs becoming the standard for crowdfunding, more people going into the crypto sphere.

Although the price of BTC fluctuated a few days ago, I still think that the price of BTC will grow very well in 2018 because BTC has been accepted by more and more people and has become a huge and indispensable economy. It will get better and better, the price will be higher and higher.

I think the trend in 2018 that will mark the market is going to happen high fluctuations, lots of altcoins that grow well, and lots of trading.

i can see that the trend for the year 2018, is that hodling of bitcoin will no longer be an option for most of us, since bitcoin's value will be going down, i do not see bitcoin going back to having the value of 20k usd any time soon, rather it will lead people to invest more on altcoins and do trading, since we already had seen the boom of bitcoin this year and the drop of altcoins, but before the year is about to end there has been a shit and i think, people are now beginning to see what block chain technology can offer us and it is not just bitcoin. 2018 might be the year, people will accept digital currency, rather than only bitcoin.

for me 2018 i will more focusing on altcoins rather then chasing for bitcoin as the price for bitcoin a little not stable to hold. this is the time for altcoins to shine again after this couple of months.
