Title: How to Pool LAN Post by: blazin8s on July 29, 2013, 04:59:17 PM How does one go about setting up a little pool for their Local Area Network?
Title: Re: How to Pool LAN Post by: Damnsammit on July 29, 2013, 05:04:31 PM It wouldn't be beneficial, I don't think... and it will be a lot of work for no benefit.
That being said, here is a guide for installing the front-end (PushPool): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=10321.msg148112#msg148112 You will also need to set-up the back-end for a server... using bitcoind and a dedicated server most likley... Also check this out for Bitcoin -server info https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=8413.0 Title: Re: How to Pool LAN Post by: tiktoc on July 29, 2013, 07:49:01 PM You can also look here
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=162788.0 and here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=158105.0 Also there is a thread about P2pool in the pools forum and a couple more for push pool if you search for it. Title: Re: How to Pool LAN Post by: BookLover on July 29, 2013, 11:46:17 PM JSYK you can run bitcoin-qt with the -server option and point your miners there without setting up a pool.
Title: Re: How to Pool LAN Post by: blazin8s on July 30, 2013, 05:54:33 PM I've been doing -server for a while with a separate wallet on each machine. Not what I'm looking for, though if I'm able to point them all to a single wallet on the main machine that might be suitable for now.
Cool thanks guys, I'll check out those other posts and look more into it. :) Title: Re: How to Pool LAN Post by: BookLover on July 31, 2013, 12:34:13 AM Took me forever to figure this so I thought I would save you the trouble; you need to add rpcallowip="ip of other miners" (asterisks are allowed) to your bitcoin.conf file. You can use one for each miner or catch them all with an asterisk.
