I would very much like to have another Bitcoin wallet available on Android, and I think Electrum could fit the mobile use case very well, but... I saw the design proposal on Reddit. Please stop the ugly! I would donate if there were to be a more .. professional look in the end.

Here's my tip on getting more donations:

1. Get a designer on board very early. Get sketches out there for us to drool for.

2. Explain more about why we want this software. What would make me prefer it to Mycelium, which works similarly?

As it stands right now, I feel that the main demographic is teenage gamers, and the main feature is support for one or more scamcoins. I can't bring myself to donate under those circumstances, sorry...

I think he went about /or is in the process of doing exactly what you mentioned. Very good ideas  ;D.

That would be super nice! I'm sorry, I thought it was the same project.

Give us something to drool for and I'm sure to pitch in.

Cool design - cannot take any credit since it is the 'other' Electrum project for Android (aka the Kivy one). This is one of the reasons I ended up taking the name "Electroid: Electrum for Android - Native Edition"

Currently, IIRR, my designs would be accessible from http://e4a-ne.blogspot.com/2013/08/electroid-ui-design-progress-complete.html ... and to the flavor of design I'll be taking:

  • minimal graphics
  • emphasis on multiple wallet handling
  • master-detail design with pane swiping to help handle various screen sizes naturally

First off thank you for putting the effort into this wallet. It is something that I am incredibly excited about, as I'm sure many Android users are.

Just wanted to know if you will be following a holo design? Beggars can't be choosers but it would be awesome to see!
