You should know that without your private key you can not recover anything. It works by the same way as your private key on any bitcoin wallet.. without it, you are lost.

Etherdelta is connected to MyEtherWallet. It says in MyEtherWallet that they cannot recover our funds if we lose our private key. Next time, be very careful of your private key. You are right, Etherdelta is a decentralized exchange that they do not save any personal information on their severs, just like the myetherwallet, so no one can help you and you lost all your money in your account for sure, it is a pity.

I guess when you lose your pre-existing wall key there is no other way to recover it. private key is very important but I think too many people ignore it.

That's a big problem if you don't have any backup of your account information somewhere else. Maybe all you have to do is contact the Etherdelta admin and tell them about this and im sure they can fix this.

there is nothing you can do about this bro. thats why when you created account in myether wallet it says you should backup your private keys.you are responsible  in your own wallet and  private keys so theres  way to recover it. next time you create wallet you should back it up in your mail or put  it in your notepad and save it or you can also print those qrcode given by mew after creating wallet

You must be prepared for something like this to happen, that is why it the primary warning given when opening account at etherdelta or MEW to safe secure your private key. Like anyone else's comments, I would say the same, it would be difficult to recover it.

This is one of those tough lessons that people can only learn from, hope you didn't lose too much but in future you will take more care of your valuables.

Your private key is the ONLY way to access you assets. If you lose it, you lose access to your assets, in etherdelta or in your own wallet. So unfortunately no one can help you, is impossible unless you find the keys.

You can't get it back because there's no way to recover private key and the one that you get from etherdelta doesn't give you an encrypted  file to open your wallet like Myetherwallet does. If you don't save it somewhere else then it's impossible to recover it anymore. It's an expensive lesson to never lose your private key in crypto.

It's a very valuable lesson for you. You MUST keep all your private keys at some safe place. The best thing is to use some kind of password manager that allows to make notes with good encription and cloud synchronization.

You need to backup all your private keys in a coldstorage like usb device,i put mine in 3 different usbs just in case i lost two of them i will still have time to transfer the funds into another wallet.

There's no point on looking for help on how to recover your keys because everything and every altcoins inside that wallet will be lost forever if you don't have the private keys.

The first thing to do once you start a new wallet or register on a decentralized exchange is backup your private keys. And you didn't do that, now no one can help you, no matter how hard you try. And with Etherdelta being a decentralized exchange expect your coins to be gone.

do you use import account when logged in or you are using new account? because both have a private key, if you keep it in a safe place then you can re-enter it but if you don't keep the private key on a secure copy then you will forever lose all tokens and it will never get back ..

Im sorry we dont have power to do that or help you. The only way you can do is to create a new MEW and save your private key so next time you'll use that, you know what's the consequence for that.

It's just like creating a wallet when some keys are needed. It is required to keep such keys save cos in case one wishes to recover that account back. Ones these keys are are lost. This also applies in my etherdelta. The best option is keeping the keys save. If it get lost has claimed, that will be the end of such account.

I think private key is the only way to access etherdelta and decentralized exchanges without that no one can access the account, it is more like a wallet, if it would have been a centralized exchange then you could have contacted them to restore access but here it does not seem possible.

This is the saddest part on us being holder when we have lost our private key,i cam feel you mate because like you this happen to me once and I've lost my more than $2,000 in just a glimpse it took me long time to aceept the reality but learning this makes me now more alert in many things and teaches me how to secure my wallets same as my coins and tokens

If you have lost your private key then i am sorry to tell you that there is no way that you are getting back whatever coins were stored in that account. This was put in place to protect you so when you lose you private key there is no way for you to access your wallet either. It's bittersweet. You will just have to move on and start building your portfolio again.

If you lost the private key of your MyEtherWallet ( MEW ) then there's no other way to recover or retrieve it. Private key is the only way to open transactions using MEW and if you lost it then there's no hope to sell or transfer your coins to other wallet. Any thing private key is  a big wallet issue, private key is not recoverable, so you must protect your private key information all the time. Create a new Etherdelta  account and forget that old one because all monies inside that old one is gone.

If it is happened to us that we lost our private key of etherdelta account we have nothing to do. We loose  everything if they have a balance of that account. In order to protect your private key password, its better to write a piece of paper so that when the time will come when it  will lost it, we have another one.

nothing can solve this kind of problem when losing a password of a decentralized wallet like or exchanges. i have also friend of mine that with the same scenario, to make his feeling better looking those tokens inside,  i suggest to delete wallet address and forget about it.

If you are losing a private key from your MyEtherWallet purse, unfortunately nothing can be done. You can look at the balance of your wallet, but you can not withdraw your altcoin.

That's one bad side of cryptos, once you lost your private, No one can recover it back, once lost it is gone and your asset is locked, I will suggest you try hard to find it. If problems hapened with hard drive one way to recover data from it, no other way to recover private keys.

It is always advised that while you must keep your private keys safe and all of that, you have to keep it where it can be easily accessed too, because once lost, there is no way it can be retrieved back. I just hope that you do not have some funds there, or at least some really good amount lying in there, if not, this is a big loss for you.

Yes all bad you should write it down and save it. I personally remember mine off the top of my head, I have  memorized my passphrase, maybe put it in an old book, or cd case or somewhere you won't just toss it in the trash. Services like coinbase or any centralized exchange will still provide you customers service though, but a decentralized ones like etherdelta will not because the whole exchange site was made to be automated and there's no interfere from human except listing the coin there.

You cant do anything now without your private keys. You should have save it where it cant be lost. Im sure that you know that you cant recover it without the private keys and seeking help from anybody will not change the fact its already gone and you now lost your valuable coins in there.

I also lost the private key for access to mew. Unfortunately I did not make a backup because I only store in one place only. As a result I lost some tokens.
This is a lesson for us to be more careful to keep the private key, because the account that access using private key can not be opened again if the private key is lost, unlike the account that access using password, if lost or forgot can use email to open it.
So let it go that already lost even though it is very sad because there is no way to open and return the lost coin.
All you can do is create a new account with a new private key, save it well if you need to back up as much as possible to anticipate.

I don't think you can get back your cryptocurrency assets. Please remember this lesson. Don't trust the scammers who promise to unlock you.

This already becomes an old case and OP never gave any feed back. But this dex is lack of everything, lack of features, lack of stability, the buy and sell order system look so weird and so many garbage features without any improvement. This is a kind of fail dex.

Regret to say most probably you will have to forget about that wallet already. From what i know wallet is unlock either by password or private key once it is lost there is no way to retrieve it. 

This is a very big problem, especially if there are coins left, because it is unlikely that someone will be able to help you restore it!

Oops , thats not good at all.... because the one of the biggest risk of dealing in crypto currency world is never loose your Private key because i dont think that for now there is anyway of retrieving your private key, so once you lose your key, you are losing all access to every token you have left in your wallet, i am sorry

If the private key if anybody can be recovered, then the true meaning of blockchain is defeated, I do not think that anybody would be able to help you recover a lost private key or form a new one for you.

That's the sad part of it, nothing else can be done since its a personal data that owners/traders should keep inside a safe notes, lesson should be take by newcomers not to forget backing up all those important matters when opening accounts in any exchange that they'll be going to use, each  information have an important role that's why it's been place and required by the site to be well kept.

Have you contacted the team or customer services of the Etherdelta? I think that they have that kind of support team that will help you to recover or reset your password. They will use some detail info in order to prove that the account is yours.

No one would or can help you brother. Because you lost your private key, there is no safebox on it that we can recover. Because it was design for you only, and only you can recover it if you have the information on your account.

i think that is not possible to retrieve. we really need to be careful about the important factors on our wallets. Because etherdelta is a decentralised exchange that is why even the creator won't be able to retrieve it for you. Sorry for that man, but learn from your mistakes.

When you used some browser to login to etherdelta account, did you click on "forget this account". If you did not do that, then
opening etherdelta.com in the same browser should get you logged in the same account without asking for private key or anything else. Try it and if it works, save your private key carefully in multiple different devices (on computer and on flash drive).

In block-chain technology this is very dangerous if you loss keys you are helpless so always put your key in three place in your USB,write at paper in PC which is not connected to internet.

I often trade my ERC20 tokens on Etherdelta but I never enter the private key for my Ethereum address because I do not trust their website which can be hacked. I always use the Metamask plugin installed in my web browser.

Some naive customers enter their private keys on the Etherdelta site, so the administrators of this decentralized crypto-currency exchange may be collecting these keys. Thus, theoretically, you can try to ask your private key from them, but I am pretty sure they will reject your request because Etherdelta has a good reputation.

I believe there would be no one able to help with this matter, even though ether delta keep those private key, there is no way that they would give it to anyone, even if its true that the private key is ours. by having a wallet address won't help us to get our private key back. Just let it go.

Maybe I will advise you to keep a spreadsheet or even a file that will going to secure all your private keys and accounts, you can secure it on your cloud in order not to access by anyone, just for you to avoid conflicts like this.

That's quite disheartening and unfortunate,  but there is nothing to do about it once the keys are gone you loose everything. Thats more reasons why you are given prior notice to back up your keys and keep them safe to avoid loosing your funds.

Op, it's been more than a year since you started this thread. Have you managed to get your private key back? In terms of pv key, i think etherdelta works like mew where they don't hold your pv key. You're responsible with your security in this decentralized system.

The account is still active but I doubt if he recovers his private key, ED has no KYC and you can just create an account then leave.
I personally never make an account at ED so I could not relate much, I just import private key from my MEW then trade, that's just my way.

That is sad to hear coz there is no other way that you could recover it. Once your private has gone, it is lifetime. Just move on and don't look back coz same thing happened to me and i just moved on and didn't think about it so i could forget it easily. I now save my private keys on my notepad at phone, computer and notebook.

Really, I think you are all at risk to losing your assets.  Private key whether is almost everything in cryptocurrency, if it leaked anywhere or stolen, but almost gone, really sorry for that.

I think nobody can help you. If you lose private keys, of course you cannot access your etherdelta account again. You should make a backup so you have a backup if you forget or something happens. If I can know how can you lose your private key? Did you forget or something else? This can be a lesson for you to be more careful in storing your private key. You cannot lose the private key to your etherdelta account because etherdelta is a decentralized exchange. However if you lose the private keys to your ethereum wallet then there is a problem as it cannot be accessed without it unless if you had ported your wallet into metamask or a 3rd party wallet like imtoken. Pretty bad news my friend and I do not think that there is a way of recovering it. Next time buy a notebook and write all your private keys down, because it is much harder to lose a whole book rather than a file.

I think there is nothing you can do but give up your coins because there is no data that can be used as a back up, the wallet is very different from other accounts like Facebook and Twitter, if we lose the password then we may still be able to open it because there are some data related like email, gmail or telephone number so we can claim our account even though we have lost the password but the wallet is not

I don't think you will be able to retrieve your lost crypto coins on your etherdelta account.  This is one main disadvantage about owning a crypto wallet, once you lose your private key your account is lost forever. I advise you write down your private key.

As what the majority here in bitcointalk said, i also think that it is hard to recover loss private key or password of your wallet in your MEW. This may be a lesson to all of us that has a wallet on MEW that we have to be carefull and keep our private key and password safely.

let us pray for the soul of your poor etherdelta account. sadly, you cannot recover any private keys to that. you have agreed and read the terms and conditions. you have been warned several times before you proceeded making a wallet, yet you dont have any recovery files.

Sadly you can't recover a lost key just like with mew. So sorry for your loss, next time try and make multiple backup of your keys, so that you won't lose it.

It's clearly not a site fault but a users fault.
When it comes to handling our coins, we should do it with utmost care, having a multiple back up of the key is always advisable.
I have mine written in a paper, copied in a text file in my PC and I also took a picture of my private key and hide it on my phone through an app.

That's 3 forms of back up and I feel comfortable with that way.

How could you lose such information like that? you can't really say you forgot it but how? Don't you have any spreadsheet or clipboard to paste your private key into? I think you should have next time.

Do you have back up of your private Key? if you have deleted it you can still recover your back up by using third party program such as easus, if yu have created you wallet in MEW there is a json file with a password you can recover your token by logging in to MEW.

I feel sorry for you friend but you should have known this before hand that private keys are not something one should joke with in this crypto space. When lost, the chances of getting it back is very low or not possible most times self. But for the sake of another  time, I advise one should preserve private keys, phrase words, mnemonics and login details very well as if ones life depends on it.

I think that nobody can help you to restore these key, because it is unreal. Always make at least two copies of your private keys.

Nothing sweet if we loss our KEYs, its absolutely nothing we can do for that.
Every mistakes we commit will be a lesson and learn for everyone. We can't either blame nor to condemn somebody but is our self. Mishandling of pur keys will lead into losing and it is sad that we can't recover it.
