Which of these do you think has the potential to rise in value the most?

Personally, I feel that while we can have a lot of confidence in the success of Ripple as a business, given its connections with banks, the XRP currency isn't necessary for the success of Ripple, and furthermore its circulating supply is too high to deliver substantial growth. IOTA, on the other hand, I feel has the potential to grow exponentially.

I think both is good choice. Ripple has been exist for long period and prove itself as good top altcoin. I dont really see about the price but about exist. Ioat is good and cheap also and has new technology to grow. It has big supporter also in the back. It can grow exponentially like you said.

if I do not choose both, I instead choose DAT and XVG where the two coins are not well known and not seen by people. but you will regret if you do not invest now in XVG and DAT, because in the next year the price of both will skyrocket

I hold both but I prefer IOTA (https://coincodex.com/crypto/ripple/) over XRP (https://coincodex.com/crypto/ripple/). Right now IOTA is at a very good price to get in, just below $4. It has for sure the potential to become top 3 coin. On the other hand Ripple will for sure lead the banking sector into the future.

Clearly the two altcoins are aimed to have different futures. So it is difficult to know precisely which will have the "better" future. But i prefer IOTA over XRP.

I rather choose IOTA than XRP although both has the same potential to be a good investment. IOTA transaction fees is reasonable enough and provides privacy.  IOTA is decentralized rather than centralized.

Although I own IOTA and XRP, if I want to invest more, I will not choose these two tokens, I will choose other new ICO.

There was also a coin of ADA. I certainly did not go into the technology, but it too is connected with banks and can do more than Ripple

XRP is a utility coin- helps banks move transactions more efficiently. Has a large team of experience behind it, multiple partnerships with banks etc. Transactions take about 3secs for very low fee. Has recently pumped.

IOTA is a platform, commonly referred to as 3rd gen crypto using the tangle instead of blockchain addressing the internet of things (IoT). Has had significant issues with wallet implementation this year and their PR approach is...unique to say the least. Has pumped significantly last quarter of 2017.

I hold both coins.

XRP is going to rise above IOTA. XRP has been awhile and there are more established exchanges. It is also more preferred for the banking people for security, fast transactions and acceptance.

Although XRP has a background, it doesn't look like suitable for investment. It's kind of like putting your money to USDT; I think it wouldn't do huge dumps but no pumps and highs either. The investment could stay there, just a little below or above your entry point.

IOTA, on the other hand, is a fresh one and has to prove itself. Price and hype looks charming but I don't think they'll be able to keep up the hype this high for a long-run. Needs a better wallet, tangle has to give trust through network overloads etc. Also the partnership rumors do harm for IOTA; people tend to keep up the hype with changing words of announcements thus changing the meaning of "partnerships" and when the company announces there's no that kind of a partnership with an X company, the price drops apparently.

I'd recommend you to look for better alternatives for your expectations. IOTA looks risky, but there's a possibility that the gain would be huge. XRP is not that risky in my opinion, however you'd feel unsatisfied as not getting much gains.

Hard choice, both are great. Both are in top-10 crypto by capitalization, stable enough, growing and promising :)

I f you want a long term investment go for iota I suggest you can earn high profits from it, but if tou want short term investment or day to day onvestment go for ripple you will earn more if youre professional on trading, and know how it works. That is my observation only and base on my experience.

It is interesting that it has so much support because of that, when much of the people concerned with crypto keep talking about getting banks out of business.

Anyway, XRP already is above IOTA market cap wise.

I think IOTA to be possibly the most "revolutionary" but it could very well fail to deliver.

Iota in my opinion is better than XRP.
Iota is radically different from existing cryptocurrencies in the sense that it doesn’t even use blockchain. It uses an entirely new concept called “Tangle”.
Iota don't have transaction fees, and there are very fast transactions.

I would prefer IOTA. Even if Ripple is a successful project working with international banks the token XRP is not really used yet

I agree, XRP is far from a crypto currency and should thus be avoided at all costs. From an investment perspective however, it is a reasonable investment as they have some large institutions behind them. This being said, I believe XRP is the counterattack of the banks and goes against the nature of crypto currencies. Cyrpto projects should be decentralised. IOTA is thus the better investment option if you take into account the value fo decentralisation.

These two coins are good coins for the long term,i am holding them since then,i bought it below its ICO price and will for next year they will surely go bull.

I personally think XRP has more potential then the IOTA because has been made a huge price bump in this year ans still constantly increasing.So I hope it will continue to rise in the future also.So I invested a small amount into XRP let's see how much it will rise in the coming years.

They are pretty different by nature. I guess that the real implementation of IOTA we would see not earlier than 2020, but Ripple could be widely used even in 2018-2019. So my choice is XRP.

It is my opinion but XRP has got a lot of potential to rise more in price in the future. It seems to be favored by financial institutions.

Actually, why even people are comparing those coins, I cant understand about it. Both coins build with different mission and features. There is no real value to compare, both coins created on its own and with various of use.

I would not bet on IOTA of course it could be my personal bad experience, but I think its time is behind.

Both have been growing good in the market gaining good market capital. In particular XRP's growth is tremendous and things happened in a short reaching the altcoins list with the highest market volume. Ongoing year has provided with growth to majority of the altcoins causing very few assets decline in value.

I think they are very different and not comparable as rivals.
As investment opportunities they are both good options because they are growing and have good market cap.
I hold both coins and I am optimistic about them, but somehow XPR is more promising in my eyes in sort term.
I think XPR have more grow potential in 2018.

both are the coin that have potential and i love both of them, but if i have to choose one of them i would choose iota. i think ripple is an old coin that developing too late. Iota is best coin and would be use for many aspect. and many good news about iota coming out that make me believe this could be the future coin that will increasing in the future. i belive iota will take place as the third best coin after ethereum next year.

I would say dimcoin because it’s already having working product under platform depotwallet and dimpay really making lots of hope in crypto currency . I would say iota is better compare to xrp.

Iota was a really good coin until they lied about many things. The most important one to take into consideration is the network speed which their network failed to handle.

I would say IOTA.
In some ways, they are actually very similar.
XRP is a centralized platform for banks to communicate with each other.
IOTA is a centralized system for devices to communicate with each other.

There are two huge differences though.
IOTA is only temporarily centralized, once it meets a certain user base the "wheels" will be taken off and it will become decentralized.
IOTA is next gen blockchain tech.  Well, it isn't even a blockchain, it's its own thing.

Because of this, I see IOTA as having far more better future potential than XRP.
Besides, I don't want to buy something that is part of the banking system.  I am one of those that hopes for decentralized economic future.

Both coins have different purpose and solve different problems! Ripple is a bank coin, IOTA is IoT coin.
If you are looking for biggest potential grow, I think your choice is Ripple. But if you are looking for 2-3 hodl investment, my suggestion is to add both in your portfolio.

I do not know how someone could invest in something that doesn't ever work. Iota is totally different from anything that we have seen on Cryptocurrency. It is not like the others that look like they are related to Bitcoin in some ways.

Is something unique. If you invest in IOTA, you should just leave this forum and anyone related to BItcoin. Just put all your money on there because if work, they will be the only one.

What is IOTA project about? For XRP, you need to wait, how will pass Ripple testiing between Japan's and Korean banks. But I didn't read about IOTA. Anyway if you will look on total capitalizations, IOTA has more potential for X's.

No one can give you 100% profit guarantee in this field. You have to take a risk and make a profit. But these two coins are worth to invest. Personally, i believe I can make a 100% profit on these coins. I invested in both coins.

XRP is very good coin have great concept, Ripple coin is used for banking sector and that is why it is most famous and in other words ripple is made on good latest technology and the management team is working good for the progress of the coin and also have great market capitalization and create great hype in the market that is why i like Xrp then iota coin and i hope it will go up again.

A difficult question. RIPPLE a leader among the banking sector. IOTA is a very technological project. I think both are good long. I would take a little IOTA more than 70 percent against 30 ripple's.

In terms of investment, I think that IOTA is better. The idea to apply an asynchronous graph to confirm blocks is very promising and unique. IOTA is one of the coins of my portfolio.

Why not both? I hold IOTA more than XRP but so far, the profit from XRP is better. However, in the long run, I would place my bet on IOTA. Even though their dev (and community) have lots of things to do before IOTA can reach its full potential.

Whoever invests in XRP is a complete moron who knows nothing about cryptos or XRP itself. Sure, there are large banks, big investment agencies involved with this centralized piece of shit, but if you want to invest in something legitimate with substance than IOTA is your bet. IOTA was the best coin to launch since ETH, go research and learn about it. When i see CMC and see XRP with big gains, it makes my head hurt, it truly does.

I would say XRP because they keep partnering with banks and other companies who use their blockchain. They just launched a credit card consortium (https://coinpricetracker.com/news/ripple-price-surges-credit-card-consortium-announcement/) with SBI out of Japan and the price just increased to $1.34.

I think IOTA may be the legend or fiasco next year. It is a good project but they did not test it well, even more they do not have a valid wallet. I invest in it if I have a spare money and like innovative but risky things.

Ripple on the other hand is a more trusted thing. we all know that banks will use something similar to ripple, if it is ripple its price will be strong in the future as well

Both XRP and IOTA have big potential.

iota also has large supply, remember around 4dollars you are not buying 1iota, it is a million. Ripple already finished its escrow, due to its low transaction fee, even if it doesn’t corporate with bank it still has some usage. I personally would split the ratio in half

I am hopeful that IOTA will grow fast when it comes to the two coins growing on exponential basis. But when it come to stability, I will choose xrp, because it is backed by a factor to control vast fluctuations on market. My best coin is xrp if I am to choose between the two.

This is really interesting choice. I prefer Ripple. It has traditional blockchain system in its foundation. Furthermore Ripple constantly improving its abilities and connections with other financial institutions.

You need to buy both coins. These are two very strong projects that will continue to develop for many more years. And this means that with each year these coins will go up

For me, both are good coins to trade, but if you are looking for a long term investment IOTA is good. This is just my opinion this project is looking good, and in future, i think they will implement many new things in this project. XRP is still confusing some experts are saying it's not safe for a long term and some people are saying it is good. I have some coins I am using it for trading.

if you really Intelligent can choose your choice of XRP because XRP already has a very strong foundation, the system is also very good and even I think the bitcoin system will be unrivaled with XRP system only if Bitcoin is now a lot of users because made assets or for trading
