Title: Newbie Portfolio
Post by: coincryptor on December 26, 2017, 04:41:29 AM
Hey everyone! I am trying to figure out the best coins to keep during 2018. I have done some research for the last couple weeks, what do you think about these?

BTC
BCC
ETH
LTC
XRP
STRAT
XMR
DASH
ZEC
ADA
BNB
CND
IOTA
NEO
REQ
TRX
WAVES
XLM

Is it a good idea to build a portfolio based with 10+ coins or keep it smaller?
Any feedback is appreciated.

You have almost all top coins in list, diversifying portfolio is good but you should also know plans and roadmap as well future possibilities of all altcoins you have in your portfolio, for that you need to actually study each separately. If you can do that then buy whatever you want.

Hello, your selection almost all are the high and top coin list..It depends your own goal itself. Example for short term, midterm or long term.some people looking at short term, then they will chose high potential like going to list some where new exchange and some good news abt the company. Some people are looking for long term, so they will chose good foundation company.

If you are really a newbie, I would suggest you consider Combicoin (https://triaconta.com/?ref=COMBI-154005). It is a basket of the 30 cryptos with higher marketcap, equally weighted and 100% asset backed. So you are instantly diversified. I do have Combicoin myself as part of my portfolio.

Your above list of coins is a good one but if you really wanted to make it big create an investment portfolio with newest crypto coins that has future growth potential. Buy them when their prices are below 10 cent and hold them. Most of those top coins has almost achieve their maximum growth. Thanks

ADA has a good potential, few weeks ago I bought it and now the price is 3x of my buying price. For the rest of you portfolio there are still a chance but you need big capital.

if you can control it and keep track of all the projects its very good
i dont think that its that easy to keep reading whats going on with every project, so you will look only on the graphs, that is not that good
if you do so, you need to know when to sell

Having a good portfolio will help you to mitigating your risk in your trading activity, all your coin will have a great future but you still need to know in what price you should do the stop loss and etc.

All of these coins are great coins. But you have bought too many coins for an inexperienced person.
It will not be easy to get out at the right time in all. if you hold in your long term you will earn nice money :)

Building a portfolio with more than 10 coins is a great strategy but the most important is is the potential coin you choose so no need to push yourself to invest in 10+ coins

Good portfolio for starting in crypto, but in my humble opinion you need several tokens with smal capitalisation which could bring you much more profit

TRX the tokens are controversial in many times, some people say that it is a scam, you need to be careful, however, if you invest in so many tokens, so you can take out money to invest in new ICO, this is my point of view.

there is a classic version of the portfolio: 50% in bitcoin, 50% in altcoyins. In this altcoins can be taken for a long time, and a part for a short time for the trading

haha.... how much money do you have? why do you wanna choose 10 coins? it is not a good strategy. in my opinion, the good portfolio just have about 5 or 6 coins. BCH, ETH, XRP, XRM, BTC is my advice for you

In my opinion your portfolio you have too many coin, this causes confusion. Good portfolio is by hold maksimum 6-7 different coin so will more easy to handle it. In my portfolio for 2018 is DATA, AION,ETH, OMG, DASH and WAVES. All these coin has strong fundamental and unique project and my prediction the price will going up continue in 2018.

I would suggest you choose 5 potentially good coins and Hodl them for a while.
My top 5 would be as follows:
Ethereum
Ripple
Bitcoin Cash
Ethereum Classic
Stellar

I keep 50% of my funds in 9 coins as my long term investment. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Monero, Litecoin, Bitcoincash, Dash, NEO, VEchain and Dogecoin(Didn't wanted to sell them for cheap/not recommended at all).
The rest is for playing with ICOs and new launched coins.

keeping a close eye on coin movements early in the year is the best way before you decide your options too soon.
because after all this year so many dramas in crypto coins are capable of making many people lose.

Depending on size of ur portfolio, 10+ coins likely would mean relatively little investment in each, I would choose top 5 or 6 so as to be able to better capitalise on profitable outcome for any of them.

Almost perfect portfolio. Never fall in panic and never sell your coins for loss. Wait and hold for a long time. There will be price drops and will make you panic but never fall to traps.
Good luck with your nice portfolio.

How many people have so many opinions. Everything depends on the initial amount of investment. If the amount is small it is really better to invest in 3-5 coins. Otherwise, you can expand the portfolio

Overall, the portfolio consists of the top coins. But I would add to this list of promising Altcoins with high potential in 2018. WGR, BNT, EDG. They are inexpensive, but have already done X10. Further more.

If you are really a newbie in the world of cryptocurrencies then try to choose some best currencies. Because it is really very difficult to provide all of the currencies at the same time. That’s almost impossible.

If you have than 10k to invest, then it makes sense to diversify your investments. But if you only have that 10k as your whole capital or savings, it would be a good idea to invest a part of it in a non-crpyto market.

Sometimes it is better to buy some low profile coins, some of them multiply their value x10 in no time.
