Title: Possible scam warning - Cobinhood exchange
Post by: Bossthirteen on December 26, 2017, 09:31:32 AM
So I’ve been a cobinhood supporter since post ico, so naturally once the exchange launched I deposited my ~90k cobs in, this is where the trouble started, see with cobinhood you can’t widhreaw until you’re level 1 verified, this took me days, however I finally got verified, during this time I did some cob trading and managed to increase my cob stack, now anyway fast forward to today, I login and half my balance has been wiped out, I had withdrawn 49k cobs, I had 4K usd left, 23.64 eth and 21k cobs, then I message the team, after they fix it saying it was a bug on the exchange I re login and my _whole_ balance is wiped, on top of this the team say the balance is correct,

DO NOT USE THIS EXCHANGE.

https://ibb.co/iQ0hLR https://ibb.co/hjvtS6 https://ibb.co/iCxJum https://ibb.co/hXWYS6 https://ibb.co/gdPL76 https://ibb.co/eVjyum

The team have now locked me out of my account, you’ll see I had a 23 eth buy order, they cancelled it and then stole my eth. Lol.

Hi Boss,

This issue has been fixed. as noted on the Telegram community:

"We have checked internally and found there are COBs deposited to this account due to system error, this is an isolated case, these COBs were sold into ETHs by this user. In order to protect other traders’ right, we have corrected the user’s account balance. The correct deposit records are at https://etherscan.io/address/0x63BE3b79a6B2bfb4Bd230813d9aA78650a7590Da#tokentxns"

So yeah it is an isolated issue and has been fixed already. Although I understand you are experiencing another issue?

First of all Youbit was hacked, not Yobit.

It's really bad thing to have such a crappy situation with pretty good amount money. According @jazzykins the problem has been resolved. I wonder to know if is this a truth?

Never heard of that exchange before until now. It actually sounds like Robinhood and you all know what that stands for. OP, is the exchange listed on the CMC list of exchanges or some roadside exchange? I am always weary visiting any exchange not listed there. I hope you resolve this soonest.

Those images is clear as water than this exchange do really acts shady and now they are making alibi as a system error or deposit error?  I havent heard such thing wayback on all exchanges that i used. Once orders been placed it cant really be changed or cancelled unless the trader would do such thing on changing decisions and also missing out balances isnt really a good thing. Thanks for the heads up on notifying on this scam exchanges even though you lose up some serious cash on here.

so sad that so many trading site that are scam and hacked by hacker. we do need some security right now that can make sure our coin is save on trading site. investing should be save and security is number one in investing cryptocurrency. saving coin in MEW seems better place for me. and trading site just for trading not for long term settlement.

consider the amount of work that they have put, the amount of ppl they hire, the office they are renting. do u think that they would deliberately steal your money, risking the entire work that they have done so far in establishing this exchange?

i may at most accept that this is a genuine mistake from cobinhood

To all those who have been paying attention to the incident,

Thank you for all the concern and discussion regarding this issue. We really value every constructive opinion you wish to see that would improve COBINHOOD Exchange, except for those hostile and dishonest blackmail and accusations.

We believe that many of you had read posts in various forums about a user named Bossthirteen and his disappeared balance in COBINHOOD Exchange. The user has falsely accused COBINHOOD of stealing his ETH, and that COBINHOOD avoided contact for further clarifications.

Both accusations are not true.

Earlier this week, after being notified about the issue, we immediately reviewed the system and contacted the user. Bossthirteen and another user who claims affiliation with user, Bossthirteen. We explained the facts and actions we have taken to Mr. Bossthirteen and his partner, with record. You may refer to the conversation record below (screenshots + link):

https://ibb.co/djQnNG (link to conversation: http://t.me/cobinhood/144829)
After this, Bossthirteen never commented again on the Telegram channel. His partner, user “Tee” has replied on the channel. The following conversation happened after the initial message to Bossthirteen:
https://ibb.co/mqkAbb
https://ibb.co/dWUspw
https://ibb.co/cBKghG
https://ibb.co/mBfnNG
Thus, obviously, the second accusation the user Bossthirteen raised is not true, and is in fact, a lie.

Then we come to the key and only issue—did COBINHOOD steal Mr. Bossthirteen’s and his partner’s ETH? The answer is NO.

Here are the facts. Mr. Bossthirteen and his partner made three deposits into their COBINHOOD account. The first two succeeded, but the later deposit FAILED because it was out of gas:
The two successful deposits:
https://etherscan.io/address/0x63BE3b79a6B2bfb4Bd230813d9aA78650a7590Da#tokentxns
The FAILED one:
https://etherscan.io/tx/0x3bfc3d7636292244fe639c8bfc11c88f04a32ce8b2d3e2aca1cfa42f15b26b02

COBINHOOD’s deposit system misunderstood the failed transfer and erroneously credited the user's account with an extra 87k COBs. This is an isolated issue and does not affect other accounts.

Before we were able to fix the mistake, Mr. Bossthirteen and his partner took advantage of the extra COBs they received, and sold them into 23 ETH and decided to withdraw those ETH right away. Fortunately, our funding manager found the withdrawal suspicious and blocked it immediately. Since the extra 87k COBs is a deposit due to an error, the 23 ETH they received do not belong to them. The tech team issued a fix and reverted the balance, hence, removing the 23 ETH from their account. Later, we notified Mr. Bossthirteen and his partner that there was a mistake.

However, despite a considerable amount of concrete facts showing that the third deposit belongs to no property of Mr. Bossthirteen and his partner, they still expressed a hostile and irrational threat to COBINHOOD and insisted on making the 23-ETH withdrawal. We, at the stance of serving our respectful customers, didn’t expose Mr. Bossthirteen and his partner’s following actions to all. Nevertheless, Mr. Bossthirteen and his partner keep raising dishonest statements against COBINHOOD, which makes it difficult for us to believe that this is a mere customer misunderstanding and complaint, but is actually a blackmail scheme.

We urge every user and supporter to carefully review this incident and understand that  COBINHOOD DID NOT steal Mr. Bossthirteen and his partner’s fund.
COBINHOOD did not cut off the conversation with Mr. Bossthirteen and his partner. Cobinhood is not a scam.

We believe that honesty and trust are still the foundation of business. COBINHOOD endeavors in conducting a better future with blockchain, and will NEVER cheat and betray anyone who shares the same vision with us.

Thank you, and happy new year.

Is it only me or COBINHOOD website and APP (poorly working)  are showing half of the price of BTC and ETH? Also once I transfered ETH I received only half of the ETH sent. I am sure it is a bug and COBINHHOOD can help e since there are transactions recorded nd also screenshots. I am looking forward to hear from them, ve been waiting for a couple of days only.
I am wondering if it was just me unlucky or if someone else is experiencing this issue.

My EOS Deposit To Cobinhood Doesn't Reflect To My Wallet Balance (SCAM)

My EOS Deposit To Cobinhood On 2019-04-29 Wasn't Reflected To My Wallet Till Today 07-May-2019.

Since 2019-04-29, For 9 Days Now, I Kept Opening/Amending Support Tickets On Cobinhood Web Site (Support Available 7 Days). Their Team Have Only Single Repetitive Fixed Answer, Irrespective of Customer Message Content of Requests / Argues / Warnings:

"we have a problem of EOS full node. Our engineer team is working hard on it now.  We will keep update with you if there are any further information"

Contradicting To Cobinhood Answer, EOS Blockchain Explorers Show: (1) My EOS Transfer To Cobinhood Was Successfully Executed, As Irreversible, To Correct EOS Address, Using Correct Memo, On 2019-04-29. (2) EOS Destination Address Used In My Transfer Is Operating Normally, Still Receiving Coins/Messages!

Cobinhood After 9 Days of Claiming Problem In EOS Fullnode, Obstructing Reflection of EOS Deposits To Accounts' Balances, Still Insists NOT To Publish Notification On Coinhood Web Site, Warning Accounts Owners Regarding This EOS Deposit Problem.

Cobinhood After 9 Days of This EOS Deposit Problem, Still Insists Not To Provide Any Expectations For Time To Solution.

Cobinhood or not I will never join any exchanges that has no guarantee of safety for my tokens and coins ,I'd better use very popular exchanges like kucoin ,bitfinex ,stex ,binance etc. The most suspicious exchanges are the new ones that came out of nowhere, the are ready to scam any body when they can

After the price of the exchange token (cob) fell by 95%. I automatically this exchange was not interested. I do not trust such exchanges that do not care about the price of my token.

How do people really dig out topics from this forum, it always get me wondering when someone goes to reply a topic that was created 2 years ago not knowing if the op who created the project is alive or nor, or whether he is still a believer in crypto or not, the last time I saw a dev asking the op if he is still interested in creating the fork of a coin, and the op created the topic 2 years ago, then I wonder if devs are so scare that it takes 2 years to find one.
