Title: Will Litecoin die?

The creator of Litecoin has sold out all his Litecoins, will it dies eventually?

Over the past year, Litecoin has risen in price by 75 times. By market capitalization, it is among the five most popular crypto-currencies.
There was information that Bitcoin would no longer be used to conduct operations on a major Steam playground. This crypto currency will replace Litecoin. In this regard, it has increased demand.

Nope, why should it die? It's still on the market and looks nice.
I don't think that something might change so rapidly right now.

It is the system of increasing the demand and value of a currency.
Without any fluctuation no currency or digital assets increase their demand in the market

It doesn't matter if Charlie Lee sold out his all litecoins.

He can tell that he sold it and look at the timing before he sold it, the price is up and after selling it everything went down in cryptocurrencies.

I doubt that he will not keep his own coin due to conflict of interest, we know on how they are playing well when it comes to their own game.

Lee might not have sold all his litecoin and there is no way he can prove that he is not holding any single litecoin right now.

I think that statement is basically part of big hype so that people will get into litecoin thinking that there is no any large holder who can dump when price will be at peak.

Lee might be making all those stories, I don't believe his words... ::) ;D

Thats nothing special, Litecoin is a community coin rather than an owner's coin. So it wont get affected by this.

Because the owner of litecoin sold all his litecoins it does not mean that this coin is going to die soon.
You really need to try to understand a little bit more about what is really happening instead of posting crap in here.

And no, he dumped his coins and he obviously said that they were not even more than 10000, he did not even changed the price of the altcoin, just check the charts and the moment in where he sold out his litecoins.

Came on, litecoin is not dying, and the price has increased by more than 70 times during this year.

LOL,its just a market strategy he wants us to dump our LTCs and then he will buyback.Any CEO/Founder of companies cant do that because the person next to him would have more power than him,if he sold all of his holdings the LTC price would go down exponentially which did not happened,

Yeah, with his activeness on twitter I thought that he is the man. But now with his movements, it shows that a person can be controlled by money and that what just happened to him. He sold all of his litecoin and keep on changing the minds of the people that there is some conflict of interest to his move. Only a person that really is ignorant on things when it comes to profiting will not notice that.

Litecoin is Bitcoin made right.
No premine, unlike Bitcoin with Satoshi millions.
Fair launch, no ICO bullshit, even Charlee Lee has to buy his litecoins.
Made by real developer: MIT graduate, former google engineer, probably most competent developer in crypto space. Unlike bitcoin with magical "best programmers in the world" core team.
Real non anonymous founder you can talk to.
No Segwit drama, no transactions problem.
It just works.

Die? Litecoin will die? Litecoin is just starting to bloom. If you actually read what Charlie Lee said about why he sold all his litecoin, he got his own points there.

Despite all the craps and bullshit everywhere, I will hodl strong to this coin. $1000 coming soon.

The creator gave away his Litecoins, because he is tired of suspicions,  he would dump and bump his cryptocurrency. He is still supporting Litecoin and it will not die. At beginning of the year it was on 8$ and look, where it is now. It will ever be the real Bitcoin Silver.

The creator of Litecoin has sold out all his Litecoins, will it dies eventually?

in cryptoeconomics there are fundamental odds working against all coins:

1. the markets logic:

most attention highest value

2. loss of premine, no developers left and no one interested in promoting it except the coin owners,

3. higher value higher transaction costs lower useability.

Litecoin is very successful lately and it does not look like It's dying. However, announcements like Lee's do make people start worrying. But at first sight, it does not look  like it has affected Litecoin. Maybe it's part of the strategy, to create some buz around the brand and let's hope that Litecoin will keep going strong.

In the year 2015 or 2016 there was talk over LTC, being a boring coin and never pumping and all that. If someone thought LTC will die back then maybe there was a reason! But right now, in 2017-2018 and after all the success and price action, that doesn't even make sense...  :)

According to news he sold all his litecoins in order to remove the personal conflict of interest, i don't see any reason why litecoin will die soon after he sold his coins because it really depends on the people who want to buy it and its development made by its dev/team.

Litecoin is bigger than any one person.
Charlie Lee has stated that he will continue decelopment and support of litecoin so whether he personally has coins or not doesnt make a difference, and personally i dont care what he hodls.

No. He said himself that he doesn't want to have any economic interests in what's up and coming for LTC. And I believe the guy, the team says they have great news for 2018.
Charlie Lee seems like a very down to earth guy that's not in it for the money, I think he's very passionate about the technology.
The guy has probably got enough money to get through life good anyways.

I'm not selling my LTC. It's the only coin in my portfolio I can say for sure that I'm not selling in a long time unless something crazy happens.

LITECOIN has got a great repo in the market if , lee made some announcement of selling all of his coins than this cannot take ltc to death because its just the beginning of success of litecoin ,People may put their investments in ltc because of having a no Owner whale which can dump their investments by taking their own share so dont do worry just trust in the future of ltc its really a best coin with good market cap

Just because the owner of Litecoin sold all of his Litecoins, it doesn't mean that this coin will going to die. He just dump it because he sees that the price is high that's why he sold it before it will go down. The owner might be still holding some Litecoins because maybe this is just a simple strategy of FOMO/FUD to make the other users to sell too.

Litecoin has been there for years and we don't even know if Lee did sold majority of his LTC's even before. Broadcasting something that you shouldn't do has a purpose, it will not die. There are even altcoins that doesn't have any developer at all but is still alive and kicking. I'm talking about DOGE but it managed to remain and survive, litecoin will remain just like other coins there's a big potential on it for profit.

Litecoin would not have to die, especially now that it is becoming to be known as an excellent option to avoid the onerous costs and delays in bitcoin transactions, which has boosted its acceptance in a growing number of online exchanges and businesses. I have no doubt that Litecoin, Ripple, Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash are called to be good partners of bitcoin to help the elderly in the daily tasks that it can no longer fulfill.

I dont think litecoin will die. First of all. in the past month it raised alot of value. And in the past week, when the bitcoin and ethereum network was overloaded, everybody used litecoin for fast transaction. ANd there another fact no oneis thinking about: Litecoin is "cheap". There are a lot of new people who want to invest in cryptocurrencies. But they cant afford money for a bitcoin, or ethereum so they taking litecoins!

I still see litecoin as a good coin to invest, its a bit unfortunate that the creator sold all it's coin, it's definitely causing fear to the investors, but I believe there are still so many people support this coin, the coin got a very fast transaction speed which is going to be very useful for transaction

no man it would not. i think it would even make litecoin better in future and development will become more advance. there is a reason why the creator of litecoin sell all of this coin. actually not all of litecoin is for sell, some are gived by him for charity and others thing. the reason is he want to develop litecoin without have to getting a benefit from the coin itself .

As far as I know it is still on the top 5 of the coinmarket cap so I guess it isn't easy for it to die even if the creator sold his shares. Based on what I can remember, its price even went high after he sold it. The price may plummet but I think it won't be easy for Litecoin to die since there's a lot of people who trusts and holds it.

If you are basing all your speculation on the creator selling all his coins, I think Lite will not die as you inferred. Many coin developers do this because their coin somehow raised to success and has sufficient value to profit. Others do so to have their coin be boosted as a raised to dump coin in which attracts many investors.

Litecoin judging by rumors, is the test platform for bitcoin. All important essential changes in a code at first go a running in to networks of Litecoin. And only after successful results take root into a bitcoin blockchain. So, even based on it, it is hardly possible to assume disappearance or crash of Litecoin in the near future

No way.
The creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, has disappeared years ago and look at btc.
The creator of doge left and called it a joke coin, and it is still around.

Coins don't die as long as there is a community to back it.
Now, LTC is so huge that it would be quite impossible for it to die out.
On top of that, from a technical standpoint, it is a good coin, with quick and cheap transactions.

In the future, I don't see just one coin dominating, I can see a lot of them being viable forms of currency and investment.
Diversification is good and pushes competition.

On a side note, Satoshi, where are you? Did you pass away, are you sitting back and laughing at what you started, are you an alien?
The world will never know...

The decline and rise in prices that occur in my opinion is a natural thing, It's all because of the influence of how the demand from the coin. Each coin has a chance to die and that does not apply to litecoin alone. Even altcoin of Etherum could have died in the absence of market confidence in the coin. I see this as a risk and a potential, because when many people are more confident about the coin there will be an increase in prices and when everyone feels that the coin has no prospect then many will leave it. I do not want to comment further because that determines the existence of a coin is all of us. This is a fact that we can not deny the existence of cryptocurrencies in this digital age.

So when you want to do a fast transaction now, you have to use litecoin, what i actually do when i want to buy an altcoin on a exchange.

Not really gonna happen the developers of LTC is still active, the founder didnt sold all of his coins if he does its value will be back to below $10
If founder sell all coins it's say nothing. Because who know how many coins and wallets he have? And now many will be mined for him?

Such a situation never prevails, because Litecoin has been showing signs of growth along with most other digital currencies. In my view the growth of Litecoin has been taking place in a stabilized manner after its sudden peaking towards the $300 mark in a very small time period.

Litecoin has only "died" for the people who bought it at $350 or something.

You never hear people who bought at even $100 crying about LTC "dying" (because they made over 100% profit in a a few days). Only those who bought at the top, which goes for everything.

It's useful though. In the US, you can link a bank account to GDAX, and use LTC (or ETH, but LTC is even faster it seems) to send money to other exchanges to buy altcoins.

Recently, instead of sending BTC, I've been selling it for LTC, and then sending the LTC. Much easier.

Recently it was in a big bubble though, I agree.

Although the owner sold all of his litecoins, he is still working on it.

At this point it is difficult to say litecoin will die. In fact, its market capitalization in 2017 is higher than any other virtual currency. It can be said that 2017 is a strong year for litecoin, although it is behind the bitcoin but it has the ability to beat the "elder" in the future.

I highly doubt this due to some amazing altcoins emerging out of nowhere. Litecoin is a great investment for me and I do realize that its future looks bleak due to the whole developer controversy recently, but I don't think it is simply going to lie down and die. This is an established coin with a big community supporting it which is why I feel that the coin will continue to survive as long as the community and investors continue to trust it. We dont know yet for now, but if the supporters and investsors stop patronizing litecoin maybe it will die sooner or later because of the controversy occur regarding the owner of litecoin sell all of his holdings of litecoin, and other is when the supply of litecoin is not increasing and cant supply the demand because of litecoin cannot multiply because the owner itself abandoned it. But as far as litecoin is concern its market right now is steady. No one knows what will happen.

I also have the same opinion with you. I think it would be very difficult for Litecoin to die and just disappear. If the problem of price reduction, may still be happening. However, Litecoin price increases will remain in the long run. We should know that Litecoin has existed long ago. From the first time I knew Bitcoin, even Litecoin was there. So I guess Litecoin will continue to grow, in terms of price and in terms of market in the future. I hope Litecoin can also follow in the footsteps of Bitcoin and Ethereum. Litecoin price for sure will increase more.  Even the creator sold their litecoin it's not problen because we are to invest in litecoin for sure it will increase more in the future.  Price of litecoin now is 200dollars each so you can buy litecoin now and maybe after few months if waiting the price of litecoin will become $1000 . More litecoin that you have you can make a lot of profit for sure. Price of litecoin before is very cheap it's cents only but now is hundreds dollars those people invest to this coin last few years are now happy because for sure most of them are become rich or earn big profit.

There's a new update from Charlie Lee @SatoshiLite about litecoin.

See his post https://twitter.com/SatoshiLite/status/953786695161270272

I think the impact about this tweet will make Litecoin pump again and even there is no update like this LTC will not die.

But the fact that he sold before the dump happens is giving everyone a big doubt about him.

If Charlie Lee was done with the project, we would have someone step into take over, we have seen this on much less quality coins and with all the ltc pairings...there would be some person, group or even corporation that see a value in furthering it from that standpoint alone.

What, no, Litecoin is awesome. It benefits from the ongoing developments of Bitcoin, but it's faster and cheaper to send. Litecoin has its own features on top of those of Bitcoin, like a different proof of work algorithm and a lower price per coin (you may laugh about it but it has a psychological effect and it's easier to send normal amounts of money without all those annoying zeroes. OK some wallets allow you to adjust the unit from BTC to mBTC and Sat but whatever). Anyway as long as it's possible to send and receive Litecoin, all good.

I never believed in Litecoin to be honest,  and I certainly dont like Charlie Lee he is a person who FUDs on his own coin, by selling your coins and FUDdin while your coin is gaining popularity is very bad and retarded, there are much better coins than Litecoin, the only reason Litecoin was added to CONbase back in the days is only because Charlie Lee worked at CONbase, therefore the marketcap and price of Litecoin, I liked litecoin more when it was stable at around $45.

Charlie Lee sold out his all litecoins. I think that not true.

He can tell that he sold it and look at the timing before he sold it, the price is up and after selling it everything went down in cryptocurrencies.

I doubt that he will not keep his own coin due to conflict of interest, we know on how they are playing well when it comes to their own game.

LTC will not die but it will be hanging around this price for a while due to the selling of LTC by its own founder.

As a coin and a tech, LTC is a better version of BTC but it does not have the marketing clout like BTC. The whole world is marketing BTC on their own but only its founder is marketing LTC and he has not been working hard at it.

I think a marketing team will help to enhance LTC image and make it strong again. In the meantime, I will just hang on to my LTC.

No, Litecoin will not die. Why should he die? He is very popular and popular. Also his values are not that bad. Currently, a Litecoin costs about $ 200. He is still far away from the end. The Litecoin will probably continue to rise in the next few years just like the Bitcoin. The word "die" is used inflationary in the "crypto world". The word "die" loses its value.

No litecoin is well backed up by many investors and is spendable at many places. So long as this is available there is little to worry about.
The litecoin the Dev sold is a temporary set back and it just goes back into circulation and will recover shortly. The coin already didn't even take that much of a hit and historically looking at the graphs it proves it is profitable.

Why would it die though? Satoshi also died but Bitcoin is still alive. Litecoin can be developed by others. Or he can still develop if he wants, he doesn't need to hold some of coins. I also think it's just a publicity stunt, he didn't sell all his coins. People don't want to risk their lives when they are target, they should tell world they don't have much money. I do not think so. The creator is not the only one involved in Litecoin. There are still other people behind it. The creator may just find it best time to sell his coins and there is nothing wrong with that. What is the point of holding anyway? Just like him, we hold to earn profit. And holdings must come to an end by selling them when the time has come that the target was hit.

Litecoin will not die, because Litecoin was present in October 2011 as the first digital currency with a scrypt security system that forms a Key Derivation Function (KDF) keyword system. Litecoin tightens the user's password security. They believe, similar to banking, security will affect the confidence of potential investors. Now, Litecoin always enter the top 10 crypto with the highest market capitalization value. Until earlier this week, the value reached Rp30.5 trillion. But the exchange rate is still classified as low, 1 LTC equivalent to about Rp528 thousand.

This is exactly what my thoughts. Litecoin will survived as long as their is Bitcoin. Its one of the most established coins however, it just slowly gaining interest from the investors so I doubt that it will die. Its slowly recovering as well. And most gambling sites accepts Litecoin as alternative, instead of Bitcoin which is very slow as of the moment.

And since Litecoin has been in the market for so long that its not even affected by FUD and market crash, I'm sure that it will still continue to remain as one of the top 5 coins in the market for a long time.

Why would LTC ever die whilst BTC is around. LTC is a very useful back up for btc and this has been proven time and time again. As soon as BTC gets over loaded everyone heads for LTC or doge. These 3 are the most reliable and trustworthy methods to make transfers with. All have good volume too of course so you can transfer large amounts and buy and sell without causing much movement

I've frequently stated that Bitcoin is the moon that moves the tides of the Cryptosphere ocean and that all Altcoins swam in it. Another was that when Bitcoin sneezes, then the Altcoins catch the flu. So, yes, Bitcoin is moving the markets and so just about every coin is following in its footsteps.

The below chart shows LiteCoin (LTC) with a decending wedbe pattern and also likely to generate one more lower low IF the upper line of the triangle repels the price back down.

I think not becasue the presence value of litecoin so far is increasing and has a good movement happening now. And still the holers of litecoin was still holding unto it and some are holding it in a long term too. And it is still listed on the top 20 coins in the coinmarketcap dude, therefore, it is still good to trade in.

The founder sold all of his litecoins at an ATH and he is a very talented crypto developer. Do you really think he is just going to do nothing now? Crypto is going mainstream, I bet he is going to make a rival to litecoin and multiply his wealth many times over.

it will not die in my opinion, but probably will find the optimal price at wich it is most practical for people to use. it clearly depends on the amount of developing needed. if it is okay the way it is it will probably remain. but crypto market is pushing forward with new cryptos that do it better and better, so no one really knows what will happen. don't worry, ltc is going to remain relevant in my opinion

Charlie Lee sold out all his sheets. I think that this is not so.
I doubt that he will not keep his coin because of a conflict of interest, we know how they play well when it comes to their own game.

No, I don't think so. Litecoin's future potential is still very good, it is growing. He will not leave Litecoin. He is still spending most of his time focusing on the development of cryptocurrency technology for Litecoin. Charlie Lee sold out all his Litecoins to avoid conflicts of interest and to affect the value of Litecoin in the market. In 2018, I think Litecoin will continue to grow in value, even though it is currently unstable, but that is a general trends

Litecoin will never die, as long as we have people that believes in it. It will continue to have value. Value of litecoins is still high compared to other coins in the market, so it will be  to early to speculate that it will die. Even if the developer already sold his coins but we still have people who owns part of those coins which keeps the coin a live. A coin will never die or loose value as long as people believe on it's value.

I agree with that litecoin will not suddenly dying perhaps litecoin is in the top of market cap, lee's announcement i think is just a strategy that people holding litecoin they sell it but litecoin continuing being stronger at the moment.

To be honest, I'm not very optimistic about Litecoin.
The first point is that the founder of Litecoin sold all of his Litecoin, which worries me.
The second point is that Litecoin's technology is not innovative, and the Litecoin technology looks a bit low,NEO,QTUM is likely going beyond Litecoin.

Charlie Lee works very hard on Litecoin! All speculation that he sold coins for his profit will soon be divorced when the coin will cost more than $300 (the price at which he sold them). Charlie's work is huge: negotiations with Ricardo (the founder of Monero), release Litecoin Core etc.

I agree with you that 2018 Litecoin is one of best deals.

Litecoin succeeded Segwit with almost absolute agreement. This created a real revolution and promoted the growth of Litecoin.

After analyzing Litecoin's development roadmap, you will see the clear future of Litecoin with the support of the Lightning Network feature and the Smart contract feature studing.

So, while Bitcoin is dominating the electronic money market at the moment, Litecoin is also a remarkable electronic money. The investment of 1% of the value of assets in Litecoin is not a bad decision.

It is foolish to talk about the possibility of the death of such a strong coin, which is still developing. Lately, Litecoin has launched two new payment platforms called LitePay and LitePal to make transactions easier in the market. LitePal will be the first payment processor of Litecoin. LitePal is expected to hit the market in the third or fourth quarter of this year. The official website has mentioned that the users will be able to use the services on popular payments services like PayPal, Western Union etc

Over the past year, Litecoin has risen in price by 75 times. By market capitalization, it is among the five most popular crypto-currencies.
There was information that Bitcoin would no longer be used to conduct operations on a major Steam playground. This crypto currency will replace Litecoin. In this regard, it has increased demand.

yups if this coin will die just because the creator sold all his coin ,why is this coin until now was in top five best coin?and until now making some movements even though not that big stil doing great and stabilizing position till now.so i guess this speculation will only contribute discouragement to the litecoin supporters.
