Title: Snowball effect?
Post by: jamesc760 on July 30, 2013, 11:18:39 PM
Bitcoin price is slowly gaining momentum. I'd like to attribute it to the snowball effect, a flake by another flake, rolling and rolling, gathering more and more flakes. Pretty soon, we're going to have a massive ball rolling over anyone and anything. One can dream...

I'd hardly call it momentum, the rise from just below to just above $100 has been very slow by the standards of earlier volatility.  Also it's interesting to note the huge gap that's opening between the bid/ask depths, thouse would be predicting a price of over $150 now, so were seeing an unresponsiveness to this metric which suggests some new market dynamic is at play, though it is some what similar to what we saw in May.
