After looking at the team, the amount of coins planned for circulation, the project, etc. which three privacy coins are at the top of the list for purchase right now?

Komodo is the best privacy coin out there, using zksnarks + jumblr
it also has a utility..
in 2018 its the year of coins with utility

We all know about Monero and Dash but what about.....

Particl, AEON, Kore, Cloak Coin, XLR, PIVX, Pay, ZenCash

Some of these above may not be privacy coins.

Which ones would you eliminate from a list of "privacy coins"?

Can anyone list anymore real coins that are designed for privacy?

Firstly PAY is not a privacy coin they are a payment card token. It is hard to say which one is best because you would need to do a lotta research but I will say this. If two coins have the same features and one is doing well buy the one that is worth less at the moment. That way if you like the technology you can get behind it going up a bunch there is solid reasoning. As a result I myself liked DeepOnion the most and it still seems undervalued to me and I will continue to stick with that coin. They have tons of features implemented, a ton more coming out and yeah the community will get to decide what happens after April with VoteCentral. I have not looked into others because I prefer this one but I am sure a lot of others will do well in 2018 too.

Privacy coins are a good diversification away from ICOs which can be successfully attacked by governments.

Privacy coins are less vulnerable to attacks from governments I believe.

NO, it is crap, it went from 1 cent to 24 in just a week, and now it  dropped by more than 70% in just a day and a half. It is not safe, the coin is a mess and the developers are the same shit.

I would take a look into the main ones like dash, monero, zcash and maybe even decred.

Zclassic should become the best choice at this moment and remember about the monero which gained a lot of the feedback about the privacy coin which has the best technology compared with another privacy project and komodo should be on the second floor after monero.

Monero all the way as its probably the only reall privacy coin out there,some of the zero proof protocol coins were already hacked so i would stay out of them.Monero signed bitcoin core dev to work for them on privacy and the begining of the 2017 and you can see the results of that move on price action.2nd coin that might be good for investment is zen cash as its better and cheaper version of zec

Well, there are some new privacy cryptocurrency built recently.
I have not much experience about this. But i know monero is the first and best one i think.

To me, Monero is clearly the best.

Sorry but Monero doesn't have added functionality  like Deepvault found in DeepOnion.   And DeepOnion is  building on their crypto creating smart contracts (Something Monero doesn't have).  This speaks to the strength of ongoing development taking place in DeepOnion as compared to Monero. 

For me there is no comparison, DeepOnion does everything Monero does.... Only better!

These coins only go to the stock exchanges, you can buy at a low price. I think in early 2018 will be a good growth several times.

i'd suggest Komodo (KMD)

one coin under the radar is BTCZ.

its fork of zcash with very active dev team. it is still extremely cheap...and already has much of the features that come with Zs.

its is superior to ZCL already as ZCL was dead coin for a long time.... it has all the code merges from bitcoin and ZCash. 

it is no premine, no dev tax, its all community driven. you can check their slack..they will also have masternodes down the road.  many pools already support it.  it is collecting donations to get listed on bigger exchanges but its not the priority.

Dev team is super smart.  i think they were helping other *Z* teams with their problems.

what about the fact that most of the coins is owned by one party. imagine in future price grows very nicely and suddenly they want to dump their coins?  ;D

To my best opinion and knowledge in the cryptocurrencies mixing for the past years I believe Monero coin is so far my greatest recommendation. The power of privacy is inherent in its development and is one of the top privacy coin in the market.

That is a false argument.  Anyone with deep pockets could buy just about any of the Cryptos givrn their small market capitalizations and accumulate them to dump them.   I would assume that anyone holding such a large amount from the beginning is someone who either developed or believed in the crypto very, very early on.  Even Charlie Lee told everyone in his tweets that  he slowly released his litecoin over a longer time (as opposed to dumping all at once)  on gdax as not to affect the price.

Is this the same thing as BTC private that's supposed to be coming?

XMR,PIVX,XSPEC are my best picks in privacy or anonymity coin,they have very advance technology and has a lot of potential in the future.

Do you mean it has potential to rocket up in value?

Using the words "blow up" suggests to me that it will be destroyed.

I would also have to agree with XPSEC, it has great technology and awesome devs behind it. When more marketing starts it will explode more than it already has recently. SumoKoin and Deep Onion are both very promising also. Both have had good rise in price lately too with a normal retraction.

I will put my bet on Zcoin (XZC).

ACtually best privacy coin search is not needed for 2018. This year will be the year of privacy coins. Just increased knowledge and marketing a little bit is enough for that I belive i Q2 of 2018 revolution will start..

What about new privacy coin that is still cheap? like under $1?

Monero is a good bet. check Pivx too and Zcash. great projects

Buy ZenCash or Onion han hodl your posistion. They will go high Q1!

My favorites are Monero, Zcash, Verge.. I recently found out about Navcoin.. I will be taking a position there as well now.

I have two favourite privacy coins at the moment, the two being Zcoin and also AEON. ZCoin recently released its Znodes and if I'm not mistaken, AEON is developed by one of the developers of Monero.

For privacy coin, it doesn't need to have too many functionality. It just need to do what it is supposed to do, and do it well. The tech alone doesn't dictate a coin success; the one that have already established itself with a high MCAP will have the better survival chance + with an active development team, can always copy over the advantage afforded by the lower MCAP coins that are popular with users.

A higher MCAP also affords better stability, decentralization, and liquidity.

IMO, currently the best privacy coin is Monero (IMO), as it offers multi-layer privacy protection, including the fact that your IP is also hidden in such a way that anonymity btwn it and the transaction is granted.

However, there is a FUD going around about a Monero's "bug" exposing user's IP during the mixing process. However, that report is misleading, since yes there is a bug, however, it simply throws out random IP addresses w/o linking them to the transaction of that user itself -- and also a fix is already underway to resolve this issue. Hence in the near term, perhaps Monero's price will be affected; good time for me to pick up a few more XMR! Also even though the supply of XMR is a "potential infinite" as the mining rewards isn't reduced to zero but tails off; but once the reward have reached the tail end, the production of new XMR is negligible and is there to reward the miners and to keep the actual fees low.

Another coin that I find promising is Verge Coin; despite of their recent screw up with the release of the WraithProtocol -- which I am sure the problems will be ironed out and eventually fixed.

Monero MCAP = $3,854,011,255

DASH have a higher MCAP than Monero, however the level of privacy afforded by Monero (described as excessive/redundant) is far superior; according to what I have gathered that is; and with the kind of active development team that XMR has, it will most definitely continue to improve and adopting whatever that seems to work well for other newer privacy coins out there.
