Title: Miner restarts
Post by: Rogue on July 31, 2013, 01:53:44 AM
IM running Win7 and im only running GUI and BTC client but every now and then the computer just restarts. I've increased the fan speed encase if the cores were getting to hot....would someone have an idea why this is happening?

Wow.  ::)  What computer?  CPU?  Motherboard?  Memory?  What mining software?  What hardware?  GPU?  ASIC?  FPGA?

Jeesh, give us a clue...

Look at power supply.  Maybe your cards are underpowered.

I concur.  Check PSU.

im running a 1200w PSU and im not OC the cards...I did recently add a CPU water cooler from Corsair...and it only seems to happen when i have the BTC client running.

Do you think i should save the wallet.dat and reinstall the client?

Check CPU temps then, and while you're at it GPU temps and any other sensors you can find. AIDA64 Extreme Edition is good for this. Watch the temps while you're mining. The only thing that should be causing the computer to shutdown or restart on its own are heat and power issues... or if you've installed Windows updates and weren't paying attention.

I've been running MSI afterburn with the fans at 75% and the temps are only like 75 to low 80's...so i know its not the gpu temps causing it

I did the 1074 and 6008 codes and they only show when i shut down the computer and the 6008 isnt showing any unexpected restarts or shutdowns
