I have amount of 30000 that I would like to invest in one of the alternate coins. Any recommendation ?

depends if you're going for a long term or short term, just find a project you genuinely like and invest in it if you like it, people will just tell you to invest in things they are holding, it's not worth asking the question.

Xtrabytes, pascal coin, ark, syscoin, perhaps a few I dont own but are good ideas... Bitbay, black coin, litecoin, bitcoin cash....  There's a lot to choose from so pick carefully!

XBY and pasc are my favorites...for the tech combined with the cheap market caps.  I love my pascal account number..its my zip code.

Good amount for start! you should create portfolio with 40-45 coins. I usually keep 40% in Bitcoin, 15% in USD/USDT(rare) and other part in altcoins. Start buying altcoins from top 10. They will give you not the most high profit, but these coins/token are more stable and  you will get lower risks. Than you can get some promising altcoins as stratis,waves,eos,neo,adex,trst, Sia.

To answer your coin seriously I like the following:

However, if I had that much money to throw away (and I'm not saying you do) I think it could be fun to go to page 4 or 5 on Coinmarketcap.com, find some coin with a massive supply and low volume, and then buy $30,000 worth at once, by yourself you could probably 5x the price of the coin lol! and then maybe others would pile in, you never know. Its kinda scammy of course but I would love to give it a go one day.

It's good for long-term and their project is very effective, just read their white paper and you'll be amazed by their unique project.
Mr. Bruno the lead developer is on his feet since the beginning so I really confident to promote this coin and I invested it for $200 while it was $0.0003 but now it's price is stable $0.60 to $0.80

Before I was thinking about investing Bitcoin even though it's already expensive but today I realized that a hundreds of thousands of good coins that has a strong potential to be the next top Altcoin is far way better than holding a single Bitcoin because when it pumped it will give you huge difference of increase. Unlike a single coin when pumped, only a matter of price increase will be the difference.

I think most of people are investing for long-term and if there's someone who would like to buy out coins and make trades after the coin was pumped then it's the only way to earn more money than holding them for a long time.

With such amount stick with the first page of coinmarketcap. Also look for billion coin mostly on their lows. U will make huge returns with them.

My advice is dont invest your money in just one coin, invest it in differentcoins like ethereum, litecoin or if you can in Bitcoin. The risk is low here as if ine coin's price go down you can earn your profitfrom other. Very less chance to drown all your investmentjust to invest in single coin

I consider myself as a newby in alt crypto trading but I have been involved in Forex and Bitcoin since a few years back. I am also looking to invest in ICOs just like you.

Bought a few BNK and ADA a while back and hodling on to it for now. I have also invested into XRP since day one. At the moment, I am looking into investing in TUDOR (tudorpay.com).

The market potential is there but an idea is a cheap idea until proven a success.

What do you guys think? Should we invest in TUDOR? Price at crowdsale is very much affordable and the price for their Pre-ICO would set you on a 10X /1,000 percent gain in no time.

But then, I'm just a newby and diversification is always important.

I'd not recommend you to invest such amount of money only in one Altcoin, it's better to split it up. I think the best Alts to invest are NEM, ADA, XRP and Litecoin.

If you already have other investments 30k in one coin is ok, but if not you ought to use diversification. Just try to imagine what will you feel when your pick drops to 50% of initial price. As of good projects which definitely have a bright future I'd like to advice cardano. It's a very strong competitor to BTC! Plus take look at NEM.

I would advice you to research yourself rather than rely on others. Because everyone has different different perception diff-diff plan in mind, I always plan for Long-term. My advice you to look: Dash, Xmr, DeepOnion, Waves and Ripple. You can research about these coins for long. Apart from this always check top coins on coinmarketcap because there you get the genuine details of coins that you can rely.

Fully agree, always make your own researches, know and understand what features provide a crypto project and what market position it has.

I would invest most of it but not all of it in Ethereum and Ripple, and once i invest in those, i would hold for long term. The remainder of money i have, would be used for trading and trying to make some profit in the short term period.

It depends on what you want to do. you want to hold for a long term or trade daily, even both. I think you should spend about 70% your fund to invest in good project like Ethereum, ripple, Waves for long term. And the rest, you can trade daily.

Now a lot of good where you can invest this amount. Do not rush, you need to learn the market, for example 50% Bitcoin, 20-30% Ethereum, 20% in Dariko, because the company will really back up its reserves with gold, in addition to the etherium and bitcoin. This is a win-win option, the remaining about 10% is best to invest in the DOGE, because by May, according to some sources, they will grow 5-6 times. Personally, I would, and did with my capital. The thing is that over the past month the price has increased from 0.0020-0.0024 to 0.01 today, and in half a year it will increase to 5-10 cents

I think there are legit altcoins that invest your money is the bcc or bitcoinnect coin because many users here are investing users so they like it but I think legit is different altcoins as many users are here and not it's a problem to make sure you earn money later and not to scam your money as well as that's just how much money you have.

If i where you i would wait a little until all altcoin will be in red market. Almost all good altcoin is already pump up, dump is inevitable. I recommend Ethereum as  priority and the reason is already obvious. NEO is also good because it is supported and back up with big companies in ASIA and large Chinese community. Monero is also good because of its anonymity and widely use in darknet where bitcoin begun.

I found one ICO very interesting. Instead of mining you can get some ICO's by promoting them on social media, adding artists, venues,...

if I have $ 30000, I will invest in XVG, while XVG prices are still cheap, because in the future (at the beginning of 2018) XVG prices will increase very fast. so the $ 30000 you invested in XVG in March 2018 will be $ 60000

If it's $30,000, why not invest in ICO? Instead of buying altcoin, I think ICO is much less risky than buying altcoin,

For long and short term i recommend to invest in smart contract coins: eth, neo and adaw

Next year, the main altcoins can become coins similar to the ethereum. Coins with own blockchain. This will not be easy, but Ethereum has more and more problems in its work. I would pay attention to the EOS and Cardano.

NEM is a great coin as well. I should have never sold off any of my original stake I'd be quite a bit further ahead had I held.  Why?  Proof of importance, fast transactions, a lot going on behind the scenes. Much more viable as a coin to use for everyday transactions with faster confirmations and adjustable fees.. Of course there are other cheaper altcoins that can make this claim as well, which is why I'm holding my xtrabytes and pascal long term and there are others I dont own like dash and monero that do pretty good work.   Newer coins are more likely to build upon the older tech you just have to keep your eye on the icos and new launches and look at their white papers and underlying tech to see if they are more than simple tokens promoting services or another clonecoin but even if they are with a large enough community they can get development or a good pump. It takes people to get coins on many of the exchanges. Cough cough....

Do not put it all in one coin.

Better to split it into  3 to 5 coins.

My recommendations are : IOTA , DIGIBYTE , NAV , NEO and VOXELS

There are so many options nowadays. You should be careful about crqap projects. They are mostly for manipulating the price only. I can advise you to check waves, monetha, iota projects. These are most known projects that have potential to grow in 2018.

I would spread. And not invest into Verge until the development team finally really released their new functionality finally.

xspec is growing quite a bit lately. The graph is very healthy because it shows alot people trying to profit from highs and selling, but the coin is still growing strong.
Alot people estimate this coin is going to be big in 2018, just like monero and verge.

if you want to spend for altcoins maybe you should choose ehtereum, ripple and monero they maybe expensive for now but maybe in the future it can be more epensive. so atleast you can profit with these alt coin you can  also altcoins which has a low price but like bytecoin, digibyte dogecoin.

If you want to invest in the short term i suggest to invest in Bitcoin because the price of bitcoin prices is very volatile, it takes a few minutes for the price to rise and a few minutes to the bitcoin price can go down, and the second good coin for short term investment is bitcoin cash, just like bitcoin that can go up and down in a while.

And than for the long term investment, i suggest to invest in ethereum, ethereum has enormous potential in the next few years its price will be like bitcoin because many ICO projects use payment through Ethereum. This will be a big consideration for investors to invest in the ethereum. And the second good coin for the long term is the ripple, currently at the ripple price coinmarketcap is in the $ 1.4 range. What got me interested was a few days back bitcoin and altcoin prices were down but ripples were rising in price.

And my last suggestion is when you will invest at least you have to know the coin that you will invest. Because i understand it is very risky when investing but don't understand the character of the coin that we invest. Especially invest in the world of cryptocurrency that coin prices are very volatile. At least you do research on the coin that you will invest.

It is hard to only select one altcoins with so many good projects around. If I had a money like that and if only wanted to put money in one altcoin then I would've gone with ethereum or waves.

I suggest for the long-term good alternative coin is litecoin or ethereum.
Why? Ethereum has been 2nd for several years.
It has many tokens created or built on its blockchain, too.
It has great future plans about its hybrid pow/pos in casper.
