The venue is Science Park Amsterdam. This is where early attempts to integrate cryptography with electronic money were made by David Chaum (Chaum.com) (inventor of many cryptographic protocols. His 1981 paper, "Untraceable Electronic Mail, Return Addresses, and Digital Pseudonyms", laid the groundwork for the field of anonymous communications research. For example the predecessor of TOR: Mix networks), through his companies DigiCash (anonymous transactions) and ecash (anonymous electronic cash system), which used cryptography to anonymise electronic money transactions.

UPDATE: Event was cancelled at the last minute (Friday afternoon).

It's being replaced with an alternative event organized by people from the Amsterdam Bitcoin Community.  Many of the same speakers and a number of new exceptional ones.

It will be a free event held on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  There will be a limited number of free tickets available.

We are having a great time with the Bitcoin Amsterdam community at Beurs van Berlage, Amsterdam.

How is Chris's event going? See no stream?

Wow, absolutely smashing event arranged by Chrisj in Amsterdam, have flown over from the UK for this and so far it's been great :)

Attended Bitcoin Wednesday arranged by pikapay last night and there were at least 35+ attendees - great evening pikapay - Thank you :)

Oh forget to say the BTC Amsterdam continues today at Knowmads Business School Sloterdijk Amsterdam, if  you're in area please come by for the event.

Great to hear that Chris's event was smashing! The organiser Richard (Pikapay) said that there was no Bitcoin Wednesday yesterday (see above). If we knew we would have visited it together with the Amsterdam Bitcoin community gathering during the three day event at the Beurs van berlage, Beursplein Amsterdam.
