Try running them in a VM/separate computer as it will overwrite your current blocks. Most hf clients do try to use the same directory as bitcoin core due to the laziness of programmers of the hard fork. Look on the specific hard fork websites, ie, bitcoingold.org, bitcoincash.org... Test it with bitcoin cash, that's the most valuable one. Ensure you move all bitcoins off the private key you import into the fork wallet just in case as also it'll require exposing your private key more than once. |
