Title: Pre-ban physicals
Post by: johnny211 on December 28, 2017, 11:55:00 PM
Except for Casascius and Lealana, are there other physical crypto coins or tokens from the early (pre-FINCEN / pre-goxcrash) years?

Bit bills were the originals, (think may of 2011) before casascius came out with his coins.  There were some others too, but that was just a US regulation.  Coin makers from other countries have continued to sell loaded coins, i.e. crypto imperator, denerium, btcc, etc.

BTCC can also be considered. They weren’t US based but also stopped producing physicals amid increasing regulations.

I don't think there were BTCC coins back then
they came this last 2 years

Correct. But I’m referring to them stopping producing physicals due to their own domestic regulations. It was far more recent but also a case of stopping due to pressure from regulating bodies.

Yep Bitbills were the very first incarnation of a Physical Bitcoin produced May of 2011.

I believe they stopped or went out of business on their own ..not sure if it had to do with US regulations...They stopped in May 2012.

Fincen only affected US makers selling loaded coins, or none US makers shipping to the US (but the none US can always be bought on the secondary market, just not direct for the makers)

Of the US makers, who sold loaede coins, recalescence were also pre fincen
