Some have expressed interest in possibly 3D Printing it, but I don't know if the model conforms to such specifications.

Haven't taken a look at what it would cost to print though.

print makes me think of paper.  maybe call it "mint".

I dislike the colors, but the model is obviously great. It feels like maybe it should be thicker, but maybe not. It has something of a sleekness to it that thin, which could be good.

Congratulations! I like both the bitcoin and the latin inscription. I'm sure your design will be used in various news articles, it definitely resonates with bitcoin's high-tech currency perception!

Fair enough, which is why I am releasing the model so it can be tweaked and such. I am a bit surprised that gold isn't popular :)

Maybe it is just the brown background that clashed and the gold is fine. Or maybe the white embossing. But all in all, great work.

I feel like I'd like a richer gold, less yellow. I'll open it up and tweak it later. Could you send me the .obj?

Here is my (very rough) attempt at smoothing the colors to suit me in photoshop. Which I only do because it is awesome, good job. You'll have to forgive me, I'm a color snob (photographer by trade).

Also Shapeways!? I've never heard of that before i've been drawing crap for years for no apparent reason and i think im gona print some of it now?! That service is unreal!

What program you using?

The Latin needs some work. It's headed in the right direction . . . but it comes off as a little busy to me. Let me mull it over and I'll see if I can provide some concrete suggestions.

That's a fine design. Looking forwards to seeing it in a tangible form
(like the resin bitcoins posted earlier)

Been thinking about it, I want to make it a bit more complex than it is - so it is in effect a rough draft. I don't have anything on the back side just yet.

I just kept messing with google translate until the reverse-translations seemed to come out properly. If you have suggestions, I would be happy to check those out.

I tried a few different renderers - the final product was done with a fairly oddball dedicated renderer. Any "General Illumination" or "Radiosity Renderer" will provide the same results.

I have access to a 3D printer.  If you could turn the model into a .stl file, I could print it.  It might be good to make the coin a little thicker though.  And yes, you would want to model the other side of the coin as well.

The slogan is too long and too complicated. I suggest a shorter one:

"For freedom"

It probably wouldn't seem so 'complicated' if the type was smaller and embedded in a design around the perimeter. I'll think about it some more and see what I can do.

Why Latin? The worlds language is english... ???

I just happen to like latin, and latin is the root for many languages in the world. I balked at doing english because I wanted a wider appeal to a common ancestry - a metaphor for the 'genesis block' in the chain of bitcoin.
