Title: BCH VS BTC FEES.
Post by: Juggy777 on December 29, 2017, 09:01:10 AM
When bitcoin cash was launched a lot was said how it's cheaper than bitcoins, it's fees are very low. So to decide for myself since I was planning to make a small transaction of 50$ I was asked fees of 211$ by Bitcoin cash. While on the other hand Bitcoins asked me 18$ though 18$ is yet high but when I compare it to 211$ it feels small. We have been fed lies about how cheap bcc Is, it's not it's very expensive compared to bitcoin, I'm glad I didn't move to btc cash, hope this will help people stay loyal to btc not move to btc cash.

Edit: Since many are asking I'm using electron cash wallet, transfer amount is 0.01923 approx (50$), mining fees 0.11 (272$).

How is this even possible? By having bigger blocks this should even be an issue if we take into consideration that they don't even fill half per block. Even here http://txhighway.com/ (owned by guys at BCH - you can see censored sign) they show they network is so fast, like suprer fast. You can check other explorers if you don't own full node, but fee and speed shouldn't be a problem there at all.

BCH (Bcash) is a joke. Its an empty blockchain (i.e. hardly anyone uses it). I cant wait for lightning and layer 2 tech on Bitcoin and by then Bcash will be nothing but a speculators toy, NO real world use case. My guess is by summer 2018, Bcash will be worthless. Watch.

They have good influencers who can and will push BCH, we've seen coinbase added them which caused pump in price, I am reading that OpenBazzar is testing with BCH at this moment (http://www.trustnodes.com/2017/11/09/openbazaar-add-bitcoin-cash-zcash) their test net as well.... they have popular people behind project who have money and power to make them one of the top coins when it comes to marketcap. However still done something BTC should do, from my opinion, to raise block size because we have to many waiting time + higher fee. I see some exchanges even adding more ETH pair to trade in exchanges because people don't simply want to pay higher fee and wait long time to be able to trade. Yes trading is what makes transactions, at least 80%, rest are real transactions between users.

Point is that there are some alts that preform even faster than BCH but as BCH being forked from bitcoin it has good starting point.

A wallet would show fees in crypto-units, not dollars, so I'm curious which wallet you used. This is not what I've experienced with Bitcoin Cash: as much as I hate having to say it, the transactions I made were faster and much cheaper than Bitcoin.

I know people here hate BCH, but there's definitely something wrong. The wallet you're using is showing the wrong suggested fees. Disregarding other kinds of issues, BCH actually has small fees compared to BTC due to the bigger blocks and BCH's blockchain not being congested. What wallet are you using?

Some wallets shows fees both in sats and in dollars. But mostly the suggested fee is not right, so custom fees are always recommended.

I am hoping that soon the clogging problems with Bitcoin can finally be given enough attention so that naysayers and critics of Bitcoin can finally be silenced and that BitcoinCash can take its right place in the alt cemetery. I have no problem with new altcoin and certainly am open to have BitcoinCash but people behind BCH are planning to kill BTC so they can promote their own beloved coin. That is a very unacceptable kind of strategy. We should be co-existing with each other because we belong to one cryptocurrency movement. This should be the message that they should understand. We can walk hand-in-hand and not go after one another.

the possibilities are as follows:
1. you are making it up or making a mistake in your USD calculation

2. the wallet you are using is seriously broken in its fee suggestion, or you are using a third party website as your wallet like an exchange which is charging you that much

3. and finally your transaction size may have been huge possibly 1 MB transaction because $211 is about 0.085 BCH and that is about 850 kB with 10 s/b fee or 1.7 MB with 5 s/b and that is perfectly normal.

none of these change the fact that BCH is a shitcoin which is advertised as real bitcoin because it is cheap. it is cheap because nobody uses it, otherwise Doge, Moon, HTML5, PND, GAY, ANAL,.... are also cheap.

Actually bitcoin have a fee problem, that's a problem exclusive for bitcoin, bcash is doing no better than any other altcoin in being useless and cheap.

Only a few days ago I claim my BCH using ElectronCash wallet and I decided to test speed of transactions and fee.I have to admit I was really surprised when wallet is set recommended fee at only 2260 satoshi so I try to doubling this amount to 5000 satoshi and send transaction.First confirmation is under 1 minute which is incredibly fast if we compare it with BTC.I thought I might have had luck so I try few more transaction with same fee and all are get first confirmations under 1 minute.

I think some things are obvious here, and even I am not supporter of BCH the fact is that fee in BTC are astronomically high in comparison with BCH.Only way to solve this is Lightning Network, but no one ever knows when it will become available.

Even if they have lower fees than Bitcoin, they are not decentralized, I've posted on their thread 2-3 times about this, their website, Bitcoincash.org is blocked for me, they call it decentralized? lol. there are no big pool to spam their blockchain with high fee transactions and mine them as well to bump the fees like they are doing it with Bitcoin. why Bitcoin is not increasing it's block size? increasing it to 2 Megabytes would make it harder to spam. some body has to explain it.

a couple of years ago when nobody was using bitcoin or even last year when the capacity was not yet full and also there were no spam attacks, the fees of bitcoin transactions were the same. with the difference that you could send a truncation with 0 fees.

good luck sending BCH with 0 fee, every single node will reject you. but you can actually find bitcoin nodes that even now will accept your 0 fee transaction. this shows variety of node operators in bitcoin (aka decentralization) and lack thereof in BCH and all are possibly ran by same entities (aka centralization).

the fees of bitcoin is higher because it is used more.
and i don't think LN will be able to solve this alone. LN like SegWit will be optional and unless people choose to use it, it can't solve anything.

Don't compare Bitcoin cash with Bitcoin because it is not the same just like the guys said it is not decentralized and an empty block chain, I don't know why it had a huge value than Ethereum because this doesn't really make sense at all, And I think because it had a small fee amount, Just look at the difference in value with BTC and BHC, Bitcoin was ahead in value against BCH that is why it got a lot of fees than BHC, And I would really thing Bitcoin Cash is a joke compare to the original.

I doubt the numbers you posted is correct 100% you might missed something , That being said , You really can not compare shiticoin to BTC . Bit coin cash having low fee is something totally normal , They have no transaction no load on network , Any altcoin can have low fee . If you have hard time send moeny with BTC just use another real not shiticoin like zcash or ETH , I see no reason to compare BTC to shiticoin in first place .
