I have decided to run a design contest for the Quark Coin

although the coin is just 11 days old (I am not developer)
we are still in need of a design for the Quark, to give it branding and personality

I posted a blog post detailing contest here

no hard and fast rules as explained but I will be providing a prize of: 10,000 Quarks

If someone provides an awesome design and anyone wants to send designer quarks themselves, please feel free to post how many quarks you will donate direct to them

designers please post your quark wallet address so people may send their appreciation even if you don't win but you do a great job

how about coin backing as silver and one as gold as opposed to black?
the mottled effect is good though
be nice to have a nice coin as backing with the cool q raised lettering maybe in silver or gold and colours over top?

if Max gives go ahead you will have your own bit of legend status for creating the first proper quarkcoin

if it changes at some point due to others submissions no worries or what developer says
end of day these things are organic and viral anyway, new designs may just happen in future

if we roll with this, the community, then i will be in touch to do some more artwork for merchant support etc and banner etcetera

tbh r3wt & Guido your opinions are absolutely trifling as you seem to enjoy the looks of atrocious antiquated brush strokes, low resolution textures, non-linear gradients, bad color harmonies, pixelated edges, and overall lack of balance.
 
It is extremely unrealistic to create a decent logo within a few hours. Why does every coin insist on doing 'competitions' which last 5 hours.

Yes, there are some messy pixels in the logo. I apologize...Nobody but us gfx artist will really notice it. It will be the size of an icon man. In my defense (and yours), there were time constraints and we were rushed. I complemented you on your work already. You are a great artist. What else do you want?

tbh you're right in some ways but i like to just do things and go for it
rather than having contests that go on for too long
I have seen many great designs 'happen' in hours online, when it has the right eyeballs and talent and a few people apply themselves. doesn't need to take days, flash of genius and some skills
sure some rough edges when magnified but the essential design was a little spark of magic imo
as explained its not up to me the final say, everyone decides that and what they prefer to use
all i wanted was something cool as put the site up today as had a free day
weekend is no good dragging on as I am an old fogie and i work and take my kids out on weekend, unlike lots of the younsters here who are online 24/7 and don't seem to sleep

the other half hearted request in main thread died a death as wasn't an official design thread

anyway, I wanted to reward pr9me for his skills and hard work
it is not over yet, until developer agrees but temp put on site

thanks for your efforts though you are a very good designer and your first design from main thread may do it. you never know
