Title: Newbie restrictions
Post by: bctjim on August 01, 2013, 07:41:33 PM
Finding the reason why we can't post in other forums is challenging.. I wish it could be a lot easier to find instructions on how to be able to post/comment in other forums :-/

This is my first post.. and the system told me:

The last posting from your IP was less than 360 seconds ago. Please try again later.

The spam prevention is a bit over the top.. but then again.. the spammers are over the top.. sigh.

I waited 360 seconds.. and now it shows this:

You already submitted this post! You might have accidently double clicked, or tried to refresh.

I checked to see if my comment exists.. and it doesn't.. what's going on here?

I get the same problem. So what I do I just wait for a bit before replying.

And "crtl+c" everything just in case.

6 minutes of active browsing in between posts.  Copying comments is a good idea, so you can post at the 6 minute mark.

Strange, it must have changed recently then......

You have to wait until you become a Jr. Member. You need to wait 4 hours after your first post, not after your registration.

And remember, it must be 4 hours active browsing, not just logged in with no actions

Also, check at the top where it says "Total time logged in:"

This is good to know I thought it was just logged in time.

I suppose these restrictions are for the good of the community. What's even worse though is that it seems like you can't even send PMs until you're a Jr. Member.

Now it's time for me to browse around the forums for 4 hours...

I have to notify a pool that its not working and I too have these chat restrictions :(

Anyway since this is the only place I can post, something is way wrong with http://cmc.smalltimeminer.com/

It shows

Next Network Block   51116    (Current: 51115)
Last Block Found   51115
Current Difficulty   0.39236171

But other cosmos coin pools show:

Next Network Block   51449    (Current: 51448)
Last Block Found   51449
Current Difficulty   4.73429794

That and I never received the payout when I withdrew . Sucks for the miners on there wasting their hash

I'm beginning to suspect the act of logging in is treated as "a reply" when the system count that 6 minutes.

This is a useless post to get past the useless protection against spammers ;)

Actually, I'm also having the problem that says "last activity < 360 secs". Not sure if this post will go through.

I think all you need to do is start writing substantial posts to start getting whitelisted. If I understand the system correctly, moderators may look at your posts and whitelist you at their discretion. In this view, I don't think it does much good to make a topic about how you haven't been whitelisted yet.

Well it can be wasted time in newbie "hold" or put to good use.

There are a lot of good links.

Anybody have any favorites?  I saw some links offering suggestions for properly setting up a bit coin business.  I am looking for more links in this direction.

All help appreciated!
