Post by: 9jaflick on December 31, 2017, 12:03:23 AM
Due to the current bitcoin high transaction fee, are bitcoin merchants still make it?
I can remember the last time I try to buy a domain name for my website from one bitcoin merchants site and the price of the domain was $9 and bitcoin transaction fee then at cryptopia was over $30! (0.002btc) Because of this I did not buy the domain name again from this bitcoin merchants instead I move to other websites  where I bought the domain with my MasterCard.

The rise of bitcoin transaction fee has make this merchants to lose a customer and I know an not the only one they have lose

They aren't the only ones who stopped accepting payment in bitcoin. Steam last month also stop accepted bitcoin due to the fees read here https://www.theverge.com/2017/12/6/16743220/valve-steam-bitcoin-game-store-payment-method-crypto-volatility

Its true that increase in transaction fee has affected many services which accepted bitcoin payments. On one side,it has affected the existing merchants and on the other side,it has stopped many new companies from moving forward to accept bitcoin payment.Amazon was much expected to announce that it would accept bitcoin payment soon, but if this issue of high transaction fee continues, then it may even drop its idea of accepting bitcoin payments.

bitcoin is already a failure, let put value aside,  if you can do use your asset for your day to day business/transaction them what use it is? People are now seeing bitcoin as digital gold, but this was not the initial aim of satoshi.
