Title: Kraken stole my deposit 1750 euro and refuses to answer me.
Post by: Duped on December 31, 2017, 02:16:58 PM
I deposited the money via fidor.I have the proof it is gone from my bank
I had put the code and everything kraken needs on the transfer details. For a month I have been opening support tickets and they get closed without reply and marked as solved by a Bruno.  I have written an email to the ombudsman in th USA but do not know the exact address of kraken and their legal team. Can anyone help out? I need to know how to move the ombudsman into questioning kraken so they will pay back or have their insurance details if they have any so I can retrieve the money that way. Also what is the best exchange to move to? I appreciate any pointers here or pm

I hear they have a very bad support.

hire a lawyer and report your case to the police, I believe that the police will locate the owners of kraken and will notify them to respond criminally if that is the case, without hiring a lawyer your problem will not be solved. See how many exchanges steal people's coins every day, this happens because people do not hire a lawyer and do not report cases to the police

Kraken is trusted by hundreds of thousands of traders, the Tokyo government's court-appointed trustee, and Germany's BaFin regulated Fidor Bank

It's christmas their support is probably full of requests and they are back logged. Give it another week before thinking about getting lawyers involved.

Don't you read what Op said? It's been a month, not just a few days during Christmas
For a month I have been opening support tickets and they get closed without reply and marked as solved by a Bruno.

For Op: you may hire a lawyer or just visit their office in San Fransisco, depend on where do you live? and how much it costs, whether it worth for 1700 euros or not.

If they absolutely refuse to resolve your complaint and if your ticket is constantly being refused consideration and closed by Kraken's staff as you mentioned, then I suggest you compile those evidences:

1. The TT (telegraphic transfer) record confirming a successful transmission of your money on the SWIFT MT107 system. Ask your bank for this proof of payment transmission.

2. Screen shots showing they are giving you the silent treatment and refusing to acknowledge receipt of your transferred funds.

Take both to the police and lodge a complain to make it an official matter. When done, take the above 2 evidences and the police report to the bank and request them to send a fraud report on the SWIFT messaging system to the recipient bank.

A fraud report is taken seriously by banks and could lead to sanctions or holds being placed on Kraken's account until it is explained and resolved. Not that such action will reverse your money (from their bank to yours) but it will compel Kraken to investigate and resolve the matter.

It's your money so do something about it.

Wow thank you for the support and info. I made screen shots and saved these online and in the morning I will go to the police. The few bits (only tiny part of a bit dash and ripple actually) that were already in my kraken can not be taken out either and I am tier 2 but it states I have no permission. I took a screen shot of that as well. Sending all that tomorrow. It is deep in the night here. Happy new year and thank you.

I had a similar issue with a Fidor transfer to Kraken beginning of December. Once transferred, it was not shown in the funding history, nor did it get credited. Fidor reconfirmed that the money has been transferred to Kraken. To solve the issue, I provided Kraken all information showing the correct ransfer from Fidor - the Fidor overview of transfers leaving and the one from Kraken showing the ones actually being credited to my account. Finally, Kraken mentioned that they had an API error beginning of December and that they were able to re-parse the day of the transfer and the money got credited soon after. Probably you have experienced the same problem and you should address once more support - and indeed they are under horrible load - and ask them again, how to solve this issue.

You can easily find out their contact data and registrant of the webpage. On Whois service you will find all needed infos, I think:
https://www.whois.com/whois/kraken.com
I wish you good luck, that you will get back your money.
It seems, you got automated answers, because if they answer themselves,  they provide a good support for my experiences in the past.
