Not surprised. that's quite a conservative prediction. We have touched $20K already in 2017, only needs doubling to take us to $40K next year at some point which is pretty easy given btc's volatility.

All possibilities are possible. Every day even we always get a surprise from the activity of bitcoin price movement. Look at the moment that bitcoin prices have achieved fantastic value and this is all unimaginable in 2016. As will be the case in 2018 that we all will also get a surprise as it did in 2017. It's all just a matter of time, waiting for the right momentum until bitcoin finally creates a new record.

It seems to be hovering around 13k as it has for about a week now. I don't see it going any lower aside from some minor movements here and there. I think this will be a good sign to investors to buy in for another pump in the coming month. I think you're right, 40k isn't out of the question or anything.

numbers can be deceiving sometimes when they become bigger. the ATH was nearly $20,000 which means $40,000 can only be a 2x rise. even if you consider the start of the year price of $13000 it will be a 3x rise.

in 2017 price went up 20x to ATH or 13x till the end of the year after the correction. and with all the things that are going on right now, i don't see this rise slowing down and even if it does slow down it won't be to 2x. it will be at least to 5x which means somewhere around $100,000

Let's just all wait and I really think that the impossible fast movement are now possible for bitcoin a huge amount can now be taken in just a day or two or even a week if possible for bitcoin, and even bitcoin enthusiast, a well-known person, and even an influencer can take people believe that this year can be prosperous for bitcoin, And I really think that a $40,000 value is not possible anymore and we can really take even higher heights or even the $100,000 USD is a possibility this year.

Anything can happen in bitcoin market the price of bitcoin may increase or decrease. But I think this time it will take some time to reach $40k , so may be it is listed in bigger exchanges so it will take time to increase the price.

that would be a very great idea if that threshold is achieved. Bitcoin is highly volatile and reaching such a price can happen anytime soon. Let's pray we get to that price

predicting a price rise to $40,000 for bitcoin is like making the safest bet ever possible with a high chance of winning. something like a 99% chance of win in this case. because it is like the smallest price that under normal circumstances without any more adoption and with even current investors selling their coins will be reached!

it is like what I used to say back in January 2017 about price in January 2018. I predicated it to be at least $2000 which was the safest bet.

I think it's realistic with a prediction of $ 40,000 in 2018, because if you look at the progress that bitcoin has achieved in years 2017 that could reach the highest price of $ 20,000 and with this fact it seems that bitcoin prices will be able to reach that price before the end of years 2018.

Evrything is possible, so bitcoin to hit $40,000 next year has a big possibility too, it is doing well in the market and today it is continuing to rise up, therefore its not far to happen very soon, in fact others are expecting and predicting  to happen more than that, but of course it maybe best or worst both pissible to happen too😃

Well, I think the price of bitcoin is going to reach at least $60,000 by the end of the year 2018 because bitcoin still have strong momentum on social media and also people minds. The demand is there and the supply is very small.

I once said some time ago to a friend, later this year we will see bitcoin between $ 30k — $ 50k. I do not know for sure because it is very difficult to speculate in the world of crypto. Well, hope it will happen.

The article is more than a month old, but this kind of highlights a few things.

Bitcoin was apparently flirting around $10,000 at the time of writing, and Novogratz was saying that Bitcoin could reach $10,000 by March 2018. Bitcoin reached that a few days after the date of writing, which was November 27 lol. That tells us he's not overly bullish like McAfee is.

$40,000 seems like a safe bet, but I don't know. We've been stuck in a rut recently and I'm sure the clogged network is stifling growth. Something will have to change to reach that value in my opinion.

It's like a safe haven in my opinion too. If bitcoin will be on this type of movement all year round then we might see $40,000 as the most possible and ending up price of bitcoin. But just like year 2017 we have seen a very bullish market that happened in the mid-run of that year and if this will be the same during this mid-year then we might even see it higher or if not it can go faster than we are expecting or Novogratz predicted.

Sorry but I really don't like this kind of threads with the reference of this businessmen. There are lot of speculations that is not really relevant on Bitcoin Community, they don't have an acceptable reasons for their speculation, just live Novogratz who once told Bitcoin is a bubble, Do you really want to continue creating this kind of thread? Please Stop and start creating a relevant one.

Who knows what will happen a year from now, I don't like to give such long predictions because that is simply not possible and it's pure guessing. Bitcoin is highly volatile and the price changes very fast in both ways so all options are possible. Let's rather focus on near future, a next month or two.

Like 20k, 40k is just one more step for bitcoins. I believe bitcoin price can go higher, my expectations are high. Its not without a reason, I'm here for two years and until now many times price raised more then I expected in short period of time, much more then I expected.
Bulish market isn't over, I think bitcoin will continue to increase in value and one of the next stops will he 40k. Let's not forget that we are on the half way to another fork for two years and many things can happen until then, but after fork we fan expect triple price from now.

If I am not mistaken it is the news of november 2017, if the speculation is true, then I will wait for the surprise to happen again in bitcoin this year. I see bitcoin prices are now very weak. I will not sell in a moment of panic like this. I expect the next surprise this years. If the speculation is true, then there will be many more millionaires and billionaires just happened in 2018.

Safe prediction from Mike. I thought he was going to say $100K. LOL. But yes, looks like it's possible that we can hit it this year assuming that we can run in spurts then correction, the make a bull run once more.


No mate. Mike N. is one very bullish investors that you can find. If I'm not mistaken, he has several hit prediction as well and he even admit that the has tons of bitcoin. So we should expect that he is going to predict bitcoin price to go even further in the future.

Its to volatile that we can't say what could happen next but everything is possible and every landmark seems achievable when we are talking about bitcoin.It has shown us earlier what it is capable of as in 2017 prices went from $1000 to $18000 and then broke but now it is recovering and gaining dominance so we can say $40k is also near so hodl.

That is a possibility, I just hope that bitcoin also improves on the fees, the price is great an all but when you have to pay huge fees for a small transaction things are not as well, we need fast improvement in that area.

The price is not questionable since most expect that price this year, however, the question should be "when this year?" I doubt that we will reach that price as soon as 3 or 4 months. I suppose we will be there between late Q2 and early Q3 of 2018.

Well it could very well be 40,000 USD this year if the price and demand remain stable in a consistent basis this january until thirty-one. That would mean that the bitcoin believers remain faithful that month and will eventually lead to the other persons getting influenced by the bitcoin believers which will be eventually results to demand and price increase.

More and more step, we are still at $15,000 and we have to wait for that day. Bullish market might come and what I've experienced in bitcoin for the past years, last year it started out at $1,000 and it became bullish during the end of first quarter up to the end of the year. And if this movement will be stable then that's going to make it's price move quickly from $15,000 -> $20,000 -> $25,000 -> $40,000.

We are not even passed the first quarter of 2018 and we have people making predictions for next year ::)

To be honest this is a long shot and in my opinion bitcoin could easily get there within this year but one thing that is killing the momentum right now is confirmation times and high fees... if these get fixed expect a home run.
