Title: Trust System Idea
Post by: lightlord on August 03, 2013, 10:24:26 AM
I had some ideas about the trust system. The problem with it is if a given user
goes around posting negative feed back for some given scammer, that scammer
can list a negative comment in your trust list, even if its under untrusted as majority is.
That can be taken seriously in given trades or person to person.

I was thinking a filtering system. If the person who left you a negative feed back
is in the negative area of his own, it hides at the bottom, or says a user with
negative trust listed this feed back. And a person can click it to open and
review what he says. But this lets the person directly know that its just a scammer
or someone posting this with no rep so it doesn't matter.

Also I think it should sort from top to bottom. Highest Neg should be at the bottom
of the list, and lowest at top.

I believe this would prevent issues of new users reviewing a person account
and thinking they aren't trust worthy or shady of 50-50%. Even though
half of that could just be posted from someone with neg rating.

I noticed when someone left neg feed back for scammer victims.
The scammers posted negative feedback in their profile.
And a new user was hesitated to purchase from that person
just from seeing too many Bold red text, and the physiological way it was presented.

I believe a reworking is needed.

I think people need to have proof if the person scammed them.

That wouldn't make sense because whether or not someone is "red" is subjective based on who's in your trust list.

You should just delete the default trust list, and then start from scratch building up a list. That way you won't get all of the spam feedback, and you'll know if someone is truly trusted or not.
