Investing in the Top market cap coins is probably the safest bet, but it is most likely also the least profitable choice. For high profit, I would try also some lower market cap coins.
1. Similar to Ethereum will be Waves - huge potential, lots of huge upgrades planned for 2018. Can do x20.
2. From privacy coins, check DeepOnion - low market cap = big growth potential, active development and community, lots of important upgrades planned in 2018. Can do x50.

Eth, Req, PayPie, Rise, Vechain

All currencies from top 10 give you at least 100% profit in 2018.

for the month of january my picks are THC, SC, NEOS, PAY, EBST

One month is too short a time frame to give good advice, but I think both ETH and BTC could surge again. The biggest increases will no doubtr be amongst the smaller coins, but everyone will give conflicting advice on which are best.

I guess Cardano is the most promising project for 2018. It's the best competitor to BTC and it has all the chances to become top-1 crypto in 2018. Moreover I have Aion, Neo. Btw Neo has many events in Jan.

That would be the common and the safest play to go for the investments the only problem is that some new coins who just pumps took the positions of the top coins will probably make out from the FOMO's and hype both by the devs or by the investors, risk is high for those type of coins but the established and tested cryptos are the ones who have the potential to surpass $1 going straight for $10.

RaiBlocks - When it hits a major exchange - kaboom!
Stellar - I expect it to move into the top 5 in the next month or so.
IOTA - I expect more big announcements in the new year.

I think it is IOTA, because IOTA is the concept of Internet of things, and there is news that it has started to cooperate with many large international enterprises, which is undoubtedly a great positive.

Time to buy : waves, stratis, komodo, monero and bitcoin cash. waves for longterm investment.

I wonder no BTC, BCH and ETH probably in one month many things could change. I think BCH, Ripple, Cardano, Omisego and XLM will rock the market. Cardano and ripped are already doing excellent job. There volume and market cap is amazing. I hope these five coins could take your funds to above 200 percent in just two weeks.

I haven't heard of UNIVERSA at all but this looks good so I will take a look at it and maybe procure myself a little bag. I like ICON, EOS, COSS, TIO, CARDANO and a few others for January as well as PPT if they roll out the Beta in January which will make it hit a nearby moon or start system once the live invoicing is taking place.  I think b the spring many of the coins will explode nicely as a new year always brings in optimism and well..fresh investors!  :D

I am not sure why you will put these in January list. They are the OBVIOUS choice for the whole YEAR, not January. As per specific picks, I only talk about new ones. And, this Logancoin (https://logancoin.io/register) thing is very cool.

They are a bit similar to Bitconnect in terms of concept, but are MUCH greater in terms of profit making and have a more detailed system in place. It is in a way PREMIUM option for people looking to earn through lending!

chian link moon hard this quarter. possibly 10$ coin by march end. thats where they planning live. it bit stagnant ppl are in waiting mode. it solve real world problem, once of the best coin under the radar  their not mooned yet.

Agree. I would say it's a pick for 2018 :) I believe we will see it in top 3. Cardano (https://coincodex.com/crypto/cardano/) had a great year (gained over 30x) and with the kind of team it has, it should have even better 2018!

It all depends how you see crypto. But my opinion is that coins for 2018 will be: Ripple, Power Ledger, Quanstamp, Etherparty, and Tronix. The list goes further, but these are my favorite ones that I have faith in, and invested as well.

Yes I agree. But the price of these coins is now very high. It is not clear whether you need to buy them now or wait for the price to drop a little. All these coins are very promising and pumped up. If you look at a long investment, you can safely buy even at this price.

There will be beta app release at 11 january. In my previous experiences, people love projects that adopt new things. Time new bank is the one of them.

1. NEO - many ICOs are now being conducted on this platform, the price is rising.

it's probably late for talking about January, but I think the OPUS project should be jerked, also I think that NEO should cost much more than 100 dollars, because soon as I know China to cancel the ban on crypto currency, therefore I believe that NEO will soon fly.

1. VIB (Viberate) - It already grew from .33$ to .66$ in just a month.
2. XRP (Ripple) - For the last few months the value was doubled.

Bitcoin, etherium, litecoin, waves and monero are my favorit portofolio so far because its promissing altcoin from the top marketcap.
I think try to invest amd hold from low market is good but high risk. The return can be more than 1000% but the risk also very high affect to our capital grow.

Well this coins are already at pick and  for some new investors, it is quiet expensive. I would buy Ethos and electronium as they are also a promising. Ethos increased to 10 dollars and i had a good profit. The problem for some new traders, is that they just go with the flow and are just alerted when the price of these most famous coins are increasing. It maybe hard to trust our guts but that is how we learn.

Paypie , centra, power ledger , csno , dentacoin (dcn). There is lots of high potential coins but people still consider top 100 coins list . Ether and waves are good investment for long term.

Since someone recently asked me 'what coin are you going to invest in, I'll explain how I came to these'
I just went through a bunch of these kind of posts for 5 hours and made a list of all relatively new coins.
So I kept how many times it was mentioned, by what kind of profile, what the reason was he mentioned it (good tech or just 'look at my coin').
How many times is of course irrelevant for smaller or rather new coins. I then listed market cap and whether the coin had already a serious spike or not and how long the coin is active. Then I picked about 8 that sounded interesting and are not already at a super high market cap.
Finally I researched team (I especially look at strong developers personally) and read the use case to see whether I believe in their ideas/project, then I check some reviews. I ended up with:

DRGN - blockchain platform
QRL - Quantum resilient Ledger (quantum is probably coming faster than people think)
FLIXXO - Film distribution network
VIB - Network to connect music artists and bookers
EXRNchain (but this one is a risk, I've only put a small amount here) - inter blockchain gateway (transactions between different kind of blockchains)

Obviously I focus on rather new coins (and therefore maybe more risky) with (what I believe) is a good use case, strong tech and which have no insane market cap (I don't expect market caps of several billions to rise 1000%).

My top picks for January is Oyster Protocol (PRL) , APpcoins - the appstore protocol - Ico price is less than 30 cents but upon listing it goes up to 3 to 4 dollars until now the price is like that and  AION Network.

For this month i will pick some coin that just entered to the market so i get cheap price. These coin in my opinion has strong in fundamental because the project is unique and has nice concept. These coin are AION, WABI, DRAGONCHAIN, CAT, DATA.

for me im picking a very high risk gamble. if succeed i will earn big if wrong i will lose some money. but i like to take gamble on it. i pick stashpay and key.. some viu token also. i have sold all my paypie as it still going down.will be buying it back after it show some recovering.

My picks would be:

eBitcoin (eBTC) - this one rose with a strong community after the original dev left and after it had a step back with many copycats producing pump and dump coin after the "e" idea kinda took and overwhelmed the  airdrop area around 2 months ago;

Blue - "anti-scam" coin, they claim it is the only secure ERC20 token out there, strong community, checking every project out there and discussing what is valid and what is not, has showed a steady progress over the few last months, now already around 1,34 USD;

Equal - although it is still not easily tradeable, it is already 0,015 USD worth and the team is really pushing it hard. They had a token swap which passed smoothly;

Exrn chain - Sitting at around 0,00017 USD it had a rise of around 3000% recently. It has a good team and offers Exrt tokens for holding;

Sugar Express - already at 0,86 USD it has some great potential and it is still fairly easy to earn some without investing anything but a little time.

Usually the less know coins have a better potential for investing because they can produce a larger return of investment in shorter period of time, and I can claim those 5 projects look really promissing, I've been tracking them for some time now.

We share only two in your list. For my top five picks for January, of course I will also be choosing Bitcoin (BTC) first of all. And then I will also be choosing Ethereum (ETH). The third on my list would go to Waves (Waves) and then the fourth will be deservedly going to Stratis (Strat). The last and final one will be awarded to Ethereum Classic (ETC). Of course Litecoin (LTC) and Ripple (XRP) will always be on my top 10. These are also solid coins. Bitcoin Cash  (BCH) for me is a bit controversial.

Altcoin for january, i dont think if i had to pick. But i still follow the price on the market cap. Top 5 or 10 will be give us a good profit.

One month is too short a time frame to give good advice, but I think both ETH and BTC could surge again. The biggest increases will no doubtr be amongst the smaller coins, but everyone will give conflicting advice on which are best.

My best choices for January are the Oyster Protocol (PRL) protocol, APPcoins - appstore protocol - the Ico price is less than 30 cents, but after listing it goes up to 3-4 dollars, until the price is the same as AION Network..

There are a lot of new altcoins that is coming out this year again but i do not think that some of them do really have a potential to increase. Most of the altcoins that are being released by ico's are not increasing its price in the market so i still prefer on investing in my ethcoins because it was slowly increasing its value each day.

For this week i think Dogecoin is the best alternative to eaarn a good profit because McAfee share this coin for ''coin of the week.'' For your question i think ADA, Verge and Tron can increase in this month.

I recommend choosing APPC as this is the most likely altcoin in January. So far I have received a profit of X15 from the ICO investment and I am sure the price will continue to increase in the coming time.
